Esperides Beach Hotel Reviews
" Just got back from a 2 week holiday... "
Submitted By: blondie69scotlandI would recommed the apartments for people who are looking for a good central base and those not bothered about on-site entertainmentt and spending all their money - just not for me or my family.
" I and my family had the most... "
Submitted By: blondie69scotlandThe rooms were great with the added bonus of sliding doors for extra privacy, only downside was the air conditioning was switched off halfway through week, and it was still very hot.
There were three pools, a climbing wall pool, and 2 waterslide pools which were fantastic for the kids.
The restaurant was very large with a wide variety and choice of food and of a good standard. We had lunch every day at the taverna by the pool which saved you having to go get changed. The ice creams and juice went down a treat with the kids, plus there were sandwiches, pizza, cakes on offer at selected times. Also free popcorn and candyfloss between 4 - 6 pm. There was also a cinema showing films twice a day.
The entertainment was typical holiday fodder but fine for what it was. There was also an arcade and games area for the kids.
This place is a dream for families with kids of all ages, so much so, that we have booked again for next October.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Submitted By: Miss K FosterThe rooms are cleaned everyday and are left so clean, you could eat off the floor!
The animation team are amazing.
I love this hotel because it is great for kids and also great for teenagers who want to go down Faliraki because it is nearby. Fun for all the family.
Anyone that doesn't like this hotel must need there brain testing. It is amazing.

Submitted By: Mrs H M LinegarDifferent pools and bars, right on the beach and, food throughout the day from 6 a.m to 12a.m. took our son of 5 who loved it.
We were smack bang between Rhodes and Faliraki. Bus rides into both towns every 10 mins which were cheap or get a taxi.
Also took day trip over to Turkey with Sealines. This company offers the best deal for day trips so check them out. They are based all along the front. Just call into one of the beach huts and they will get hold of them for you.
All in all a fantastic holiday and would recommend it to anyone.
" Fantastic holiday. If you have kids... "
Submitted By: Mr P.H. Corrick2 water slides, Bumper cars, carousel, bouncy castle, Popcorn and candyfloss all part of the all inclusive deal. Animation team were excellent, always busy, and very friendly. Plenty of entertainment during the day and evening with mini disco for kids.
Food was good if just a little repetitive. Hotel has a good shop/minimarket if a little pricey but if you go left out of the hotel it’s a five minute walk to a small shopping centre. The waterpark is a ten minute walk up a steep hill but it’s a must and you can easily spend a full day there.
Location right on the beach and only a five minute taxi ride away from Faliraki and 15 minutes from Rhodes town. Do the Banana boat safari which kids will love on the beach in front of the Hotel.
Hotel very clean the cleaners seem to work round the clock and staff are very friendly and obliging. Weather last week in September was excellent 27c to 30c 81f to 86f with cloudless skies.
Never a problem getting a space round the pool but was told its very different in July/August when its much busier and the restaurant staff struggle in peak season to serve everyone so if you want a more relaxed and not too hot holiday, it can get to 43c in the height of summer go if you can a little out of season.
Rhodes airport is chaotic and I would recommend pre booking your return seats if you want to make sure you sit together. Only 30 minutes transfer time from Airport, some brochures say 90 minutes not sure why unless it takes a lot longer at the height of summer.
Careful with what you put in your suitcase as a few passengers commented how harsh the baggage at Rhodes was treated. I can understand why quite a few people go back to this hotel and it certainly lived up to all our expectations.

Submitted By: Mr M J YorkeThe animation team were fantastic, I wish I could have stayed in contact with them as they were all great to talk to.
I would recommend the hotel and go back again if they had more choice in the taverna and restaurant, instead of the same things all the time.

Submitted By: lisa981974I expect it will be a bit different because its now all inclusive - we cant wait - yeah you have a bit of a fight to get a bed, but then again just pull one over from the grassy area, its not a major issue.
1 night a week the entertainment team had a night off, so we popped into Faliraki then the next week we went to Rhodes Town. Other than that there really was no need to leave the hotel of an evening - 10 out of 10 for the entertainment team they were there to entertain you night and day.
We met a couple from Newcastle and another from Liverpool, its was their third time at the hotel - what does that tell you! As and for lack of shade?? There’s plenty of brollys. Even our holiday in Thailand in Jan 07 didn’t knock the socks of this holiday!
There was plenty for the little ones to do, he was 5 at the time, now he's so looking forward to going back - its safe and friendly for the kids, what more could you want.
The beach isn’t great a bit pebbley but nothing to moan about. A good all-round holiday. You'll find 95 percent good reviews for this hotel, hardly any bad ones.

Submitted By: Mrs S HayesThe hotel itself is beautiful as are the pools. We stayed in the family room which was really nice and clean the maid comes every day and the staff are all really friendly.
On a good note the animation team work tirelessly and they put on some brilliant shows at night we really enjoyed the entertainment!
The downfall is the food it becomes really repetitive and they mostly cater for the Germans as the majority of visitors were German. We felt outnumbered by them by about 80%. Their local beer isn't up to much!
The beach is not all that brilliant and some of the rocks can be quite dangerous so if you are going with young children be careful! We went to the beach at Faliraki it was much better and it only cost a couple of euros in a taxi.
You have to pay for sky TV but if you turn left at the entrance of the hotel after about a five minute walk there is a little shopping centre with some bars that show sky sports.
If you want to get a sun bed you will have to be up early as we saw Germans putting there towels out at three in the morning!!
After the first week we were bored and wanted to go home as there was not much to do after the first week as you have done it all.
I think I went with my expectations too high and I don't think the hotel lives up to it's rating but that's only my opinion, if you are going this summer good luck with the sun beds!!!

Submitted By: Mrs W BateFound the food a bit boring but you could eat it! The animation team, well what can I say the best thing about the hotel, Jonnie, and the team where fantastic! Fire show & the fun, brilliant.
If you are going this year see some of the shows as they will not be there next year, watch out for the chicken!
" This hotel is far the best we have... "
Submitted By: Mrs A GillThe facilities for kids are brilliant. Two big water slides free of charge, a carousel ride, dodgems, bouncy castle, free popcorn and candy floss between 4 and 6 pm. There are freezers around the grounds where the kids can just go and help themselves to ice creams, plus soft drinks pumps so they don’t have to go to the bars.
There is a large football court at the back of the hotel; however it gets very hot here as it is directly in the sun with no shade.
There is a large cinema room with proper cinema seats which show two movies a day for the kids. One at 1pm - 3pm and 8pm - 10pm, we hardly ever saw our kids.
The food was fantastic, from full English breakfast, pancakes, toast, and continental breakfast on a morning, to joints of pork, beef and lamb and much more on an evening plus the fantastic cakes and deserts that they made.
Afternoon lunch was virtually the same every day, spag boll, fish salad chips and pasta. It lacked a burger bar serving burgers and hot dogs; however the food was still good. There is also a wine and lager tap where you can help yourselves.
The beach isn't up to much, very pebbly so take beach shoes. There are also free pedelo’s (2) and canoes for customer use and the sun loungers are also free.
The entertainment on a night was not up to much, they had to say it in 3 different languages which was a bit annoying; however the day time entertainment was quite good.
Outside the hotel was the main road into Faliraki 5 mins in a taxi for 5 Euros, or there was a shopping centre round the corner with a few Greek bars (one with a big screen for the England matches) and a lot of shops.
Everywhere is kept spotless clean; the maids are there all day and night and never stop working. The staff were very polite, none of this rude and arrogant that a lot of people who go all inclusive write about, every member was very friendly and polite and severed you straight away.
This was a fantastic holiday, I would recommend it to anyone, and I have booked to go back next year.
" Great hotel and staff, good location... "
Submitted By: Mr R MartinTemperature was about 41 degrees and you had to put your towels on your sunbeds at 3am just to get any shade.
Food was ok but got very repetitive on second week and my 18 month old grandson wouldn’t eat anything.
We wouldn’t go back only because the lack of shade.

Submitted By: Mrs A TurnerWe've already booked for September 2007 and were going straight back to the Esperides! The hotel is so clean the food is great the weather fantastic, the entertainment first class. We travelled with our two sons aged 8+16.
When we arrived it was 4am we were allocated our room which was in the annexe. It was very clean and much better than we had expected. Fantastic bathroom with a brilliant walk in shower, always plenty of hot water. The room was serviced daily with fresh clean towels and bedding changed.
The food was excellent and plentiful either in the main restaurant or in the pool side taverna.
There was plenty of sunbeds poolside, on the grassed lawns or on the beach although you had to be early to get the best positions. The staff were always polite and helpful.
The animation team work tirelessly always organising games to do and were hilarious.
They provided the evening entertainment which was great but finished too early at 10pm. there is a mini funfair which is free for the younger ones. And two water slides which my kids really enjoyed. Across the road there is a massive water park which we were told was excellent by other guests.

Submitted By: Miss H A PilcherExceptionally clean, the food in the restaurant was great with different themes most nights.
The entertainment was entertaining and my kids had a great time one is 8 and the other 2, what was a good idea is the cinema which played Disney films daily at 1pm ( great to get out of the midday sun) and films for the older children at 8pm.
The pools are very clean and the waterslides are great fun. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the Water Park which is a must and also with a bus stop outside every hotel a ride into Rhodes Town is an experience.
We will definitely be returning to Rhodes and The Esperides.

there are 4 pools, all with free sun loungers and free loungers on the beach, though the beach isn't up to much as it is shingle and course sand.
the rooms and hotel are all spotless, the maids seem to work 24/7. we found the food to be of a very good quality, though the children did struggle a bit, but the pancakes every morning were a big hit, though not keen on the cereals on offer, so would advise to take their favourite with you.
the family rooms are all in the annexe, which were modern with hairdryer, safe (30e for 2wks, tv (1 english channel) and fridge that had drinks in it on arrival, but not filled up again.
the animation team were marvellous, i am not one for joining in, but before i knew it i was doing aqua aerobics, playing french boules and having a lot of fun doing it as well!
they provided the evening entertainment, which both adults and children enjoyed, and other guests from the nearby hotels also used to come in to watch the entertainment as it seemed to be the best around.
on the downside, we had a night flight and had to pay 60euros to keep our room on, which i thought was a bit steep, but the children needed to sleep so there was no other option.
saying that i would definately return, but get a day flight next time.
if you are going to this hotel, you will have a great time
Advice: esperides - a great family holiday
Activities: rhodes town - water taxi stops by hotel
Good for: Beach
