THEhotel at Mandalay Bay

THEHotel made for an amazing weekend! I was impressed with the hotel the moment I stepped inside. I have been to Vegas many times and love all that it is, but when I get to my room I like to leave it all behind. THEHotel does just that. Almost like a luxurious oasis. Room: space and décor This is definitely the most modern and stylish hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The color choice was excellent – a pleasant, earthy palette that was punctuated by interesting patterns and textures. The square footage of the room was quite generous. The Hotel at Mandalay is a nice place. If you want the utmost in luxury, I'd say the places in Vegas to stay are either the Four Seasons or the Bellagio (the latter especially if you want to be right on center strip). Nice rooms and nice amenities at this location though. I just thought I'd add one thing. Regarding the September 16 comments by the New Jersey visitor, I'm rather appalled at the commentary regarding "junkets of foreigners that all love to wait in very long lines." We had never stayed in Vegas before and didn't really want the mega glitzy hotel. Reading these reviews of THEHotel it sounded like the perfect place for us - and it was. The lobby area is impressive if a little bit the new standard for luxury hotels - dark wood; exotic flowers etc. We asked for a high floor with a strip view and were then upgraded to a corner suite with a view in both directions! THEhotel is everything you could want in posh accomodations. Rooms are beautifully appointed! Comfy sofa with pillows, large plasma TVs, wet bar, king bed with down comforters and soft sheets. Large lovely masterbath, w/ sep shower and soaking tub, dbl sinks-granite tops, plush towels, great bath products. The only item missing is a coffee maker. Me and my friends rented out a suite on August 30th, 2004 wkend and it was great. The staff was more than friendly, the suites were immaculate. There were a 27" flat screen tv in the bedroom, a 34" or more plasma tv in the living room and a 15" plasma screen in the bathroom. The bathrooms were enormous, a huge deep tub, a see thru shower stall and a separate room for the toilet. Whenever we needed anything from the front desk, they responded immediatly. We really enjoyed our stay at THEhotel, so much so that we will always try to stay there when we go to Vegas if there are rooms available and the price isn't too high. You can tell it's very different from other hotels in Vegas the moment you walk in the door. Not only does it not smell like smoke, it smelled like they were piping in a light vanilla air freshener. We stayed at THE Hotel at the Mandalay Bay the weekend of September 17-19, 2004. Friends of ours had made the trip down and stayed at THE Hotel as well. Everyone had a great stay and were fully satisfied with the hotel, its amenities and services. We checked in at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. A friend and I spent 3 nights at THEhotel over a long weekend. I have stayed at the Mandalay Bay several times (including its opening month in 1999) and had high expectations for the newer, pricier and swankier THEhotel. My expectations were met and even exceeded in some ways. The key amenities have been discussed and rightfully praised by most prior reviewers.
