very disapointed
booked 3 week holiday to this hotel looked quite impresive on first mpresion lobby rooms shabby bathroom very small bar staff arrogant food very repetative defanatly not 4 star more like 2 star been to faliraki 3 times before this was by far the most expensive we have paid and was the worst place we stayed in
A bit dated, but overall good!
We arrived at this hotel quite late at night/early morning and were welcomed with a smile, which was nice. The room was average and a little bit dated to be honest. The main problem was that when booking it said that there was air con, but be careful when you go as they do not switch this on until mid June, so in May we were baking! The rooms were cleaned regularly and the hotel itself was clean, just decor getting a bit old in some areas. The pool is good but not massive, and animation team use the whole pool at least once a day to play "water polo", which is Ok if you like a lot of shouting and splashing. There were a lot of different people here, but mainly English which was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food is average, I have had better. If you like salad and Tzatiki then you'll be happy. The same spag bol was available everyday and there were some chips if you got there early. Breakfast was a rubbish choice and not much to chose from other than a boiled egg. The little shop in the hotel is good though and caters for every necessity. The hotel is in a very good posistion, right near the beach and very near to the town but far enough away from the hustle and bustle and the noise of the clubs. Well worth a visit is Lindos! The acropolis is amazing and the donkeys will take you up if you cant be bothered to walk to the top. It gets very hot in Lindos so be prepared for this. Car hire is fairly cheap here and the roads are easy and petrol is cheap too. If I can find it, you can! If your thinking of staying here, go for it, but only if the price is right. I wouldnt pay no more than £300 each for all inc! Enjoy and have fun!! x
Poor Hotel, Poor Food but Great Location
I agree totally with the review posted before mine. Hotel looked great from the outside was in a very nice and promising location. Right on the beach and within walking distance to bar street and the main road through faliraki. Was very disapointed from the start though. Airport was a shambles for finding our bags as they seemed to put most of the landed flights luggage on one belt. When we finally arrived at the hotel we checked into our room. Hotel was as before very nice looking from the outside and the downstairs, but as you get up tot he rooms and the corridoors as mentioned in another review it was very shabby looking. Was not happy as again for a double they had just pushed two singles together, so if your one to move in your sleep you find yourself pushing the beds apart and stuck down the middle of them. As for the food and drink service at the hotel well thats another story. Very little to choose from, were definately not continental choice meals. Myself and my girlfriend are both fussy eaters so most of the time we found ourselves eating out for main meals. As for snacks!!!! one word DISGRACEFULL!!!!!!!!! With most All Inclusive hotels you would find a varied range of snacks for most taste buds. Well you won't with the Faliraki Beach. If you get hungry between meals you the get the choice of hmmmm a small packed lunch sized sandwhice wrapped in clingfilm or if your really lucky a small square of refridgerated pizza and a choice of ice cream in a stail cone. The cucumber in the sandwhiches was frozen and the pizza well was disgusting. To put it into perspective the stray dogs would'nt even touch the food haha. The A.I drinks are great if you like 50% alcohol and the regular barman was very rude and would ignore you unless he was shouted at and then would throw the drinks at you. The location would be fantastic if it was open. When i booked for the end of october i realised it was going to be quiet but i didnt expect all the bars and clubs to be shut up. Even subway, KFC and Mac D's was closed i could'nt believe it!!!!! And i know us Brits dont get on with the germans but the hotel was very German, Dutch Swedish orientated everything was written in German. Being a young brit i felt second place as the staff would serve a german as you get ignored by everyone. All in all a nice looking hotel until you get to the room. Food was disgracefull and never book towards the end of the season as you will have nothing to do. In short DONT CHOOSE TIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok Resort, Not a very good Hotel!!
Our Holiday was on the 1st of October - 8th October. We arrived at the hotel just before midnight, and were told the bar would be closing at 12 and no food was avaliable; NOT A GREAT START! We were given our key and set off for the room, the decoration is very dated and the carpets shabby. We got to our room, and it wasn't better. There were 2 singles pushed together, a double wardrobe for the both of us, a fridge and TV. There were 2 chairs and a table on the balcony. The bathroom had the bath, shower head but no wall unit (so you had to shower with one hand), toilet, sink and a really big mirror. We went for a stroll and found a few bars, but it was quite intimidating as there were lots of locals around who just starred. We ate at subway (it was the only place open) and went back to the hotel. The next morning we got up and went for the All Inclusive breakfast, it was a dissappointment! The food was cold, and the only that was hot was the crossiants. The Hotel was occupied by mainly German tourists and elderly people due to the time of season i think. The food in the hotel was ok but there was the same everyday. The drinks around the pool were convienient and the pool area was kept clean. It is just a short walk from the beach about 2 mins, the beach is really beautiful and the water very clear. A couple of days were overcast and cloudy but we did come back with a tan in the end. The night time entertainment was not something we stayed in for so can't comment. The location of the hotel is great, only 5 mins and you are in the center of the clubbing street and bars. Overall, we wouldn't stay at the hotel again or go back to Faliraki. I think due to it been the end of the season and everywhere closing up i would say don't go in October unless you like it quiet.
fantastic ! fantastic ! fantastic !
date 04 Sep 08 reviewer: Scotland Best ever holiday experience in Rhodes " been three years in a row" , booked last minute and stayed at Mitsis Faliraki Beach Hotel. The hotel has , I believe the best location in Faliraki , right on the beach and although close to all the fun of Bar and Club Street you don't hear a thing. The room decor is a bit dated , but the room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and clean bedlinen and the bathroom was lovely " what more could you want". My husband was a little concerned when he saw that the beer was served by bar staff and not on self service basis which was what he was accustomed to on all inclusive packages , but the guys at the pool bar and " Helena ,Harra and Paul " from the La Toc Bar were great and remembered your favourite tipple after the first day and I never heard my husband complain. Food in the restaurant was served buffet style and was really good and varied " I'm very fussy and I didn't starve". Daily entertainment was provided by the Animation Team , these guys worked very hard providing an excellent fun and games programme for both adults and children , join in there's much fun to be had . I would recommend this holiday for everyone and I will definitely be going back .
This was a great hol !!!
This was a great hotel to stay in very clean and you got new towels each day! The entertainment team were the best ive seen in my 6 times of going to greece, they involve you in everything and there are things to do for everyone. True there are alot of germans and russians who can be quite rude but we just did our own thing. the bars were good and the beach is literally a stones throw away from the hotel. Food was nice but quite repetative but there is an A la carte menu if you want a change! book the day b 4 though!! - nice food and friendly waiters!! all in all for 4 young girls this was a top holiday and i would definatly go back !!
Good Girly Holiday
In summary this hotel is clean, full of foreigners (mainly Germans and Austrians), on the beach and near to the clubs but nottoo near. I stayed at this hotel last week. I went for 1 week with my best friend. Mixed views to be honest, when we first arrived (late at night) we hd missed dinner but were offered rolls which had clearly been in the fridge for far too long and were practically frozen, we couldn't get to the bar to order drinks and I had a feeling this wasn't going to be like most 4* hotels. However the next morning all was better, breakfast was good and the food improved over the week. Average dinner you'd get 1 meat dish, 1 fish dish and a few various vegatable dishes. Every night there was a salad bar, quite nice and different themes e.g. chinese, curry etc. Not a lot of greek food! Real mixture of service from staff, some were so rude and would refuse to serve you more than 1 drink and others were extremely friendly. Rooms were clean and reasonable size, showers weren't very powerful. Air con is ok quite noisy. The rooms don't have safes, only deposit boxes at reception which is manned 24 hrs a day. Approximately 3-5 mins walk to bar street and 5 mins walk to club street but u can bearly hear the noise from the hotel at night time.
brilliant last minute deal
I booked for myself and 2 late teenage children 2 days before we arrived. It wasn't the hotel I originally picked and I was concerned with proximity to the bars and clubs and likely fallout from this but we didn't hear or see a thing. the hotel was spotlessly clean if a little dated (90's decor but in very good order) but the Mitsis group only took this hotel over earlier this year I believe and haven't renovated as yet. Bathrooms had been updated and were excellent. room was very spacious considoring there were three beds in our room there was plently of room. Hotel staff were very helpful, knowledgable and spoke many languages. All inclusive food was excellent and plentyful. there was a notice asking men to wear long trousers in the restaurant in the evenings, a problem as my son didn't have anything other than shorts, and although most men wore shorts essentially no one wore beach wear which was nice. That said there is definietly no need to take your ball gown or dinner suit!! All inc drink in very generous measures yet no guests seemed to over indulge too much. Pool area was really good with plently of sunloungers, entertainment if you wanted to join in, or they left you alone if you didn't want to. Excellent entertainment/sports team. Hotel catered for families with very small children and babies to elderly couples and everyone in between. it was a really good atmosphere and lively enough for all age groups. i would highly recommend this for any age group. And Yes, I would stay there again.
Not A 4 Star Hotel!!!
Booked this hotel purely on location. Was surprised to find only two reviews of this hotel on this website so thought I would add my two pennyworth as well. Hotel is located on the beach and adjacent to the town. It is however quiet at night and you do not get any disturbance from the bars and clubs nearby. Whilst we were there we experienced a 6.5 earthquake and had to evacuate our room when the alarms went off at approx 6 in the morning! We had to stand outside the hotel for 40 mins until most got fed up and went back to bed! In typical greek fashion no one informed us of what was going on or if it had been an earthquake! We just stood and stood and stood! Luckily no damage was done as buildings are built to withstand them. Anyway...my opinion of this hotel is as follows:- Room - terrible, pokey, horrible stained carpet on floor. View of rubbish and debris at side of hotel. Booked room with a side sea view and got view of dumping ground with dripping overflow of above hotel bedroom going night and day. Bedroom needed new furniture and makeover badly! T.V old and dirty. Only one english channel BBC news! this didnt work properly as kept fading and receiving interference so impossible to watch. Air condiitoning unit did not work properly and rattled night and day. Must have been over twenty years old. Bathroom had however been refurbished and wasnt too bad. Food - repetitive but edible. Usual greek fare but usually luke warm instead of hot. Poor service in dining room as too many tables for amount of staff. Air conditioning poor and sometimes did not appear to be working at all. Okay if you managed to get a seat in the new extension of the dining room which had good air conditioning. Drinks - Only two bars were available to those on all inclusive tariff despite there being a lovely little beach bar set inside the grounds of the hotel. You had to pay for this service so hardly anyone used it which was a shame. They should have provided this within the all inclusive scheme as it would have relieved the overworked bar staff at the pool bar. Drinks were generally warm and poorly served, i.e. cocktails were not properly mixed and were not served chilled at times. Many of the staff were not trained and could not do the drinks without constant supervision. La Toc Bar inside was too hot to sit at because of the insufficient air conditioning supplied by the hotel. One one female member capable of serving drinks so she was overworked all evening. Animation Team - dreadful, that is the only word for it. Consisted of mainly tunisian young men showing off to the young ladies in the hotel. Constantly harassed people to buy their merchandise of t-shirts and c.d.'s of their lovely songs they played round the pool area. I found them all to be infantile but people seemed to love them. Bingo was provided for people who wanted to play. Poor entertainment programmes, they were not trained in anything other than loving themselves unfortunately. Hotel needs to do better re this important part of the programme. Location - fabulous. Couldnt have been better. Overall it is a cheap and cheerful hotel that has been taken over by the Mitsis group of hotels which I have previously stayed at. This hotel does not compare to any of those I have visited before but I hope they will refurbish it and bring it up to a good standard. I was very surpised this is classed as a 4 star A class hotel as there were far superior ones to this about. My main gripe with this hotel was the lack of air conditioning for the time of year either in the bedrooms or main areas such as bar etc. and the tatty bedroom we were given. I would however recommend it for the location to young families. Do not come here if you are expecting luxury as you will be disappointed, but do come if you want a good location to stay in.
Good Holiday
Have just come back from the faliraki beach hotel in may 2008 and noticed that there are no reviews for the hotel. Firstly this is a newly aqquired Mitsis Hotel, which sometimes isn't made obvious by the looks of it by travel agents. The situation of the hotel is quite close to the main streets of faliraki however just far enough away to be away from it however in summer it maybe a different story. The hotel is close to the airport however and this is useful, I would advice people not to book transfers and just get a taxi from the airport as it will be much cheaper!! Now onto the hotel. After visiting 7 different mitsis hotels previous to this one I must say this is the worst Mitsis hotel that I have yet to come across however it is yet to be properly Mitsified however by no means is it a bad hotel. The Hotel reception is nice and gives a good first impression. However other areas have yet to be developed for example the dining room. The bedrooms are clean and of a decent standard which is good. However the airconditioning was extremely poor and maybe a big problem in the summer. The pool area is very good and the pool is of a good size with plenty of sunbeds, The animation team is pretty poor at the moment with only one bloke really providing any decent entertainment his name was Nemo. The usual competitions are run during the day and bingo and a show at night, however some need some work. The drinks in the hotel are decent and you get good portions the pool bar is good and inside bar isn't bad at all. The food is OK not up to usual Mitsis standard and does get repetitive i no its the same in every place, but still there wasn't a massive choice BUT you could still find something to eat every dinner time. All in all it was a good holiday the Hotel just needs work to bring up to Mitsis standard in the future. Don't be put off by the bad points if you just want a relaxing week, but if you are going for 2 you may become a bit bored.
