Can't Wait to Return
I just returned on June 1 from a trip to New York and we stayed 2 of the 4 nights at the Michelangelo. I have stayed in numerous hotels in New York, but overall this had to be the best. The location is fabulous -- very near 5th Avenue, great restaurants. Times Square, Subway entrance and even Broadway is easily walking distance. The staff were more than accommodating and the rooms were tastefully decorated, large and an incredible bathroom facility -- most N.Y. hotel rooms are small, but not the case at the Michelangelo. I highly... more
very nice hotel, well located
The Michelangelo is a very nice, small and well-located hotel. The staff was, without exception, very nice and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable and offered to upgrade our room without missing a step. We had a very large room which we shared with our teenaged son for several nights. We actually had two king-sized beds which were very comfortable, the linens were beautiful, the towels huge and the amenities lovely. (The chocolates on the turned-down bed at night reminded me of the old days at the... more
Elegant & Civilised
What a fantastic hotel! Gorgeous rooms, polite, friendly staff, and the location cannot be beaten. This was our first time in New York and the Michelangelo made sure it won't be our last. It is a lovely serene place to relax after the hustle and bustle of the city. The price ($189 per night) dollars is definately competitive and even more so considering the current strength of the dollar! Highly recommended.
Fantastic!
We spent 5 nights here recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. With Times Square and Broadway at your doorstep the location could not be better. Our room was beautiful, the bath tub was huge and the complimentary shoe shine was a nice touch. Our first introduction to NYC - wow!
Nirvana at The Michelangelo
I booked rooms for 12 women for our yearly retreat...we women are a difficult group to please! Everyone praised The Michelangelo from the time we checked in to saying goodbye to the staff, who could not be more helpful. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. The beds and linens a joy to return to every night. Bathrooms were clean and upscale with marble and granite. I have insisted my daughter and her husband stay at The Michelangelo in October when they visit NYC. Hooray!!! A hotel you can call HOME!!!
Beautiful, so Italian!
My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with a trip to NY. We stayed here May 8, 2004. We asked for early check in and when arriving at 11:45 AM our room was not only ready but because of our anniversary we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge. Room was beautiful, modern, large. Bose CD Stereo player in room, as was tv and phone in bathroom! Spotless. Everyone so friendly. They validated our $33.00 overnight parking also as a perk. In the morning complimentary cappucino, espresso and baked goods in very... more
Highly Recommended
Having just returned from a long w/e staying at the Michelangelo I wanted to say how impressed I was with all aspects of the hotel. The room was massive by anyone's standards and immaculate, the staff courteous, the lobby was elegant and the location excellent. All round a very pleasant stay. The only very minor downside is the underwhelming breakfast (included in price). Don't let this deter you, book this hotel.
I liked it
My room was not quite ready when I arrived so I had a cocktail at the Bar. The bartender was very nice and very generous. I was told that my room was upgraded because I had to wait. The room was quite large and nice. The only complaint was that the bed was sunken in the middle a bit but it was still comfortable. The room also had a sofa with two chairs and a coffee table. The large walk-in bar was something that I had to photograph because I knew everyone back home wouldn't have believed such a thing. There was also an entry hall with... more
Gorgeous
Beautiful and cosy hotel. Spent 2 wonderful nights and what made me love it was the Bose CD player. Recommended stay.Try the capuccino at the bar in the lobby.
Absolutely amazing experience...
My partner and I booked the hotel, based on pictures we found online, and the reviews we read on this site. Long story short, it was a stellar choice. The location CANNOT be beat. The lobby is gorgeous. Front desk, concierge, and staff were helpful, attentive, and very friendly. The rooms were spotless, beautifully decorated, and VEEEEEERY spacious, especially by New York's standards. It was well worth spending 25.00 - 50.00 more a night, to have such a completely positive experience. The only downside, was that we were in the room so... more
