Dionysos Hotel Reviews

excellent hotel

Oct 2011, caz

4 of us all girs aged between 35 - 40 stayed here and loved every minute. It was so clean and the staff so professional and friendly. the pool was massive ,and you had lots of choice of food around the pool. On an evening there was entertainment in the main bar , there was also a lovely restaurant set outside in the gardens, all candlelit, the food was gorgeous.
Ixis resort was fun for a night out (carbella, Luna and FBI bar) and for a taxi ride to Rhodes it was 8 euros although the hotel added 2 euros to the fare if you asked them to ring from reception)
the first night we got put in the appts which were even nicer. I dont actually know how you book the appts as all the online bookings refer only to the hotel, but I would defo return to this hotel again

Holiday 2010

This was our return visit to the Hotel Dionysos, previously visiting the same time last year (end May-begining June). The hotel is set just off the main road, and off the street, therefore a more peaceful residence for the stay.
The hotel is well maintained, it has a character of it's own, well kept lawns, trees and plants, and is lit up at night with little finishing touches such as candles around reception, giving it its own individual feel.
The rooms are cleaned daily, staff helpful, with a well stocked shop at the entrance of the hotel enabling drinks to be bought at a fraction of the price of those at the bar. These purchases can be taken to the pool and enjoyed.
The pool area has access to the bar, a poolside restaurant, cafe, swim up pool bar & a kebab kiosk, also selling drinks and hot dogs, but can become costly.
Breakfast in the hotel is vast (remember to take your check in card or you'll have to sit in the naughty corner!, with a Greek style 'English Breakfast', various breads, pastries, fruits, cakes, meats and cheeses amongst other goodies!
The hotel grounds have a tennis court, table tennis table, air hockey table, snooker table and mini golf. Some of these are chargeable.
This year we noticed a lot of sunloungers with towels over them but noone claiming them until later on in the afternoon - this was very frustrating.
Also last year the evening entertainment was 6 nights a week, ranging from dancers to magicians and kareoke.
This year the entertainment was restricted - and one performer was on for 3 nights a week. The retriction was apparently due to various acts not being able to perform due to certain customers on a particular flight out being disturbed by it on their final evening. However, was told by a staff memeber that they also demanded breakfast at 2am before they left so they had to open the breakfast room to keep peace!
Would we go back? Yes. Last year, 4 adults, this year 4 adults & 1 child.....no children next time if we went there...I feel a little more of an adults place to b & relax......

Our second stay at the Dionysos and...
8 / 10
Aug 2007, Mr J Jessop

Our second stay at the Dionysos and we were not let down, superb service by all the staff, huge breakfast selection, very clean, friendly and helpful, this really is fantastic value. 10/10.
Ixia does not offer the best beach its coarse sand and pebbles may not be particularly comfortable on the feet, but the people are very welcoming, and on the whole the food in the countless number of restaurants is good.
I can recommend The Olympic near the very north end of Ixia ,Yanos works very hard to provide home make food and a fantastic complementary cocktail 7.5/10, the Ideal cafe good lunch time venue (near to the Hilton) 8/10 and Platoons (I think that’s what it's called) for evening dinner in the main southern end 9/10.
Cosmos well they are the only British tour operator to go to the Dionysos. We felt they did not really try hard enough when it mattered. Our party of 11, aged 25 - 50, were into doing our own thing and with 6 of us windsurfing every day our boards hired in advance with surfline Rhodes , we said to the rep that we would probably not be around for the meetings, with the sort of heat out there you need to up and out in the morning plus wasted time when is windy is a crime, so when we needed to contact the rep, when one of us became very ill with a throat infection, we couldn't we relied totally on the reception staff to contact the doctors, they were far more concerned the rep never even tried to see us or make contact with us 0/10.

This hotel exceeded our expectations...
9 / 10
Dec 2006, Mr J Jessop

This hotel exceeded our expectations and continued to excel throughout our stay, friendly staff, very clean rooms, good food.
Down side, slightly noisy at the front or the hotel, some sort of pump running, which distracted from another wise very peaceful balcony retreat. Luggage room a little too small.

We booked into the Dionysos after...
9 / 10
Oct 2006, Mr J Burgess

We booked into the Dionysos after having had a bad experience in another hotel, the service we received at the Dionysus was a great antidote: the staff were really hard working, friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The hotel has pretty good facilities but the important thing was that they were really well maintained and were constantly being cleaned.
The hotel bars and restaurants offer good value for money and are actually cheaper than lots of surrounding restaurants and bars, next time we go to Greece we will look at other Aegean Hotels.
