SuperClubs Rooms on the Beach Negril

SuperClubs Rooms on the Beach Negril used to be the Negril Inn and was reopened under the new moniker in the summer of 2008. The property is located in the middle of 7 mile beach and has about 60 rooms. We booked through a more local company called Worry Free Vacations which gives hotel and air package deals. The property is set up into "blocks" (buildings having about 8-10 rooms) with rooms on the ground floor and on the second floor (first floor for you Europeans). We returned from Negril last night after a week staying at Rooms on the Beach. This was our tenth visit to Negril. We had a very unpleasant experience with this new resort, and I feel the need to warn others. There was unsatisfactory service in general, but the particular problem centers around one of the locals who seems to have free run of the property, at least on the beach front. The individual runs a carving shop on the west boundary of the beach, but spends most of his time looking over the guests at Rooms from a chair on the west... more

My husband and I vacation twice a year and we returned from one of the most enjoyable vacations that we have spent in years. Forget the All-Inclusives, Rooms On the Beach Negril is the real Jamaica. The hotel has been refurbished, the rooms were well appointed and clean. The water and the beach were spectacular . This was our 4th trip to Jamaica and 3rd to Negril. This was our first time not staying at an all-inclusive resort and we may never stay A.I. again, lol!!! Rooms Negril, led my Hotel Manager Seinna Ann Grant was the best experience we've had in Jamaica. I spent three days at Rooms Negril in early November and enjoyed every minute. Upgraded to a king, oceanview suite which was located above the bar/restaurant. This wasnt an issue for me, but if you were someone that wished to go to bed early this could present a problem as it could be noisy if there were a lot of guests at the hotel and were in the bar. Rooms is a very new hotel on the 2km or so marker on the 7 mile beach. The location cannot be beat! It was right across from 3 great places to eat (Miss Sonia's for Lobster Patties, Sweet Spot for everything from Stew Pork to Fried chicken to curry goat to oxtail to Brown stew chicken/pork and Montana Cafe for a quick breakfast) and very close to jerk stands, depending on the nite and weather anywhere from 2-5 jerk stands are open for business. Stayed at Rooms Negril 10/29 - 11/2. Upgraded to oceanfront king room. Lovely patio leads right to the beach. 3 steps and your toes are in the sand. Nice towel rack on patio for your beach towel. The staff was very accomodating. Always had smiles on their faces. When leaving property, security noted where you were going. Great for single travelers. 24 hrs front desk and security was an added plus. Open air restaurant and nice small bar. Continental breakfast was served daily. Overall, great experience. My wife and I just returned from one of the most relaxing and enjoyable weeks that we have spent in Jamaica (twelve trips so far). The rooms were well appointed and were very clean being a completely refurbished hotel. The beach was really convenient. You could sun or lay under the palm trees behind the low two foot wall, to avoid the hawkers on the beach, or you could have your lounge taken to the waters edge where there was plenty of beach. I heard about this beautiful boutique hotel called Rooms on the beach Negril from my friends who stayed there in August this year. I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are great with flat screen cable television, wireless internet connection, safebox, Duvet covers "Hello" i only see duvet covers in 5 star hotels. The bathroom has glass shower with two shower heads and marble tiles. The staff there are great, they are willing to go the extra mile, no matter what time. Rooms Negril is in a spectacular location, right on 7-mile beach. It is so close to restaurants and hang out places...including Rick's Cafe and Pirates Cave. The Rooms are brand new. Flat screen TV's in every room, brand new bathrooms with walk-in showers, fitness center, and a nice continental breakfast. The resort does have a nice pool and a bar that is very reasonably priced. This is a great little resort that offers adventure goers the opportunity to explore Negril.
