We have just returned from a week’s stay at the Atlantica princess and cannot fault this hotel.
The rooms were clean and spacious, the food and service excellent! The hotel staff helpful and pleasant.
We are a heterosexual couple late 40's. But I would say that although this is advertised as a family hotel you won’t be disappointed if you have no children.
After excluding the airport transfers and saving £40 for a 15 minute ride we had a car booked cheaply for the week and picked it up from the airport on arrival and dropped it back on departure. This enabled us to look around this beautiful island.
The sea is the most beautiful colours of blue and the beach coves are plentiful. Free car parking plentiful even on the rim of Rhodes town.

Just got back from the Atlantica Princess. Just a couple of points I hope will prove useful. Although it’s rated as a 4* I reckon it is closer to a 3*. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
The food, apart from the Chinese and Greek theme nights which are first class, is very average. The dining room is spotless and the Staff are excellent. Gents be aware they strictly adhere to the no short rule at dinner.
It’s well situated and is only a 9/10 euro taxi ride to Rhodes town. Pool is clean. I feel it’s a great hotel if you have kids up to the age of 14 because there is always something going on during the day.
My one real observation is about the evening entertainment (it’s not a complaint, because we didn’t go there for the entertainment). It’s truly shocking, I know they are only amateurs and they try hard but it’s awful.

My wife, daughter and I went to Rhodes end of May 07, we are a simple family to please on holiday, my daughter likes the pool all day, my wife, and I like relaxing.
Pool very good (no life guard though), hotel very clean, restaurant excellent ( food & staff). Local shops & bars very good, 1 shop in particular sells anything you could wish at good prices, (Middle one on the left as you walk down the street). Also recommend you go on the land train 45mins tour every hour.
The air con was not switched on while we were there (was not hot enough according to staff) but at night it was so warm I would wake up in a sweat. So we decided to sleep with the door open, we were bitten and awakened by the mosquito's every night. The same when you sat in the hotel foyer, so please take good insect repellent and a plug in one for the room.
The hotel only has one bar outside in the day inside at night, which has to cater for a lot of people, during the day there was only two staff looking after the bar and five or six waiters at night, so be prepared to wait for your drinks.
Taxis are excellent value for money 10 Euros would get you to Rhodes town.
Overall the hotel is good but we didn't think it was worth 4 stars maybe 3 star.

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children who visited this hotel last may.
The large pool was great, although we had the usual rush for sun beds in the morning, if you were not fussed about location you could usually find odd ones scattered and find a spot on the grass to place them up until 11 o clockish.
Our room was a split level family room, which had views over the sea from the children’s room and views over the pool from our bedroom; all in all I would say probably one of the nicer rooms we have stayed in.
The restaurant was great with freshly cooked omelettes being a favourite with the children for breakfast. There was a good variety for dinner and the themed nights (Chinese and Italian) were a nice touch.
The down side of the holiday had to be the beach in the resort which you could see from the hotel, we found it dusty and it left you feeling dirty if you spent the day down there.
As usual the Greek people were friendly and you did not feel hassled in any way when you walked into the resort.
The entertainment in the evening was awful, although as we were leaving it started to improve as more experienced entertainers were flown in. Saying that all 3 children5, 8 and 11 loved the first choice kids club.
I could fully recommend the water park for a great day out (about a 20 min journey) although take a taxi. Don't go on the coach trip as you don't get long there and if there are 4/5 of you sharing the taxi fare it works out slightly cheaper.

Myself and husband and our 21-month-old son loved this holiday! If you have kids take them, they will love it from the ages of 1 to probably about 13ish.
We had a fantastic room with a massive balcony, so enough room for all our inflatables and to sit out of an evening. The room was clean, with a lovely bathroom and shower. The only thing, which was a pain, was the mosquitoes; you must take lots of repellent!
The food was amazing, I really don't know how any one could say that its repetitive, they have Greek night, Italian night, Chinese night, international night and many more! and I'm only a small lady :-) but I couldn't stop myself from eating.
The pool was great, really good fun, we loved the hotel dances and my boy thought it was fab. There is a Crèche for the under 3 year old, and Jess is Wonderful and my boy just adored her!
As for the animation team, well everyone who criticizes them. I don't think this was the holiday for them, this holiday is for people who want to have fun and see their children enjoy themselves, if you want a professional (West end) production you've come to the wrong place. As far as I'm concerned, the animation team, tried very hard to please and get to know the guests (not in an overpowering way, just friendly) All their shows were good fun and involved the audience.
We only stayed a week, but I wish we had 2 weeks there. Big thanks to Jazzy Jess, thanks for making L so happy and my CD!
Gabriella you are so funny. And Tatiania you are very sweet and good luck with everything in the future!

Spotlessly clean with plenty of friendly, efficient staff who work very hard to genuinely please their customers.
Evening entertainment enthusiastic but of variable quality. The weekly Greek evening with musicians and dancers appearing for that one evening only is excellent.
Sea view rooms are more peaceful with lovely views of the Aegean Sea. Walking the lanes and tracks leading off the main roads within half a mile of the hotel gives an insight into the local culture. You can't get lost as sooner rather than later you emerge on one of the main roads.
Time share individuals on scooters are easily dealt with. Simply don't answer their favourite question or statement "Are you English?" or "I'm not trying to sell you anything." Remain silent and they soon give up and ride away!
New lighting (still being erected in mid-Sept. 2006) and wider pavements from the hotel towards the sea front bars in Trianda are a big improvement on recent years but still beware of obstructions in the pavement that can easily catch the unwary. It is only when you encounter wires sticking up or poorly positioned street furniture such as poles and cables that you realise our health & safety rules in the UK are not an overkill but a vital aid to safety!
Mosquitoes are a nuisance but the plug-in electrical type of repellant is very effective in dealing with the inevitable few that have got in the room, and should provide a good nights sleep. Keep your windows and doors closed at all times, letting the efficient air conditioning keep your room(s) cool.
Many of the other contributions I entirely agree with and will therefore not repeat - although having been there for four successive years I have never encountered the conditions that have led to the one (and only one) scathing review that appears. Stray cats are a bit of a nuisance but providing you don't attempt to feed them they soon wander away.
Scrub land the 75 yards or so between the hotel and shingle beach is not the most attractive feature of the Greek landscape but it is a typical feature of the island and I suggest should be accepted as such.
Of course the busy and packed hotel is not perfect (hence my rating of 7 out of 10) and it does appear to have slightly changed character this year with fewer English people as guests. But overall its staff are genuinely pleasant people working long hours each day to give everyone an enjoyable holiday. In my opinion their efforts succeed.

Just got back from the Atlantica Princess, missing the hotel already. The hotel was excellent, very clean and the staff couldn't do enough to help you. We went as half board basis but upgraded to all inclusive as it only costs 17euors for adults per day 9euors for children and under 5's go free. The food was excellent.
The animation team work very hard to keep everyone entertained, the day time entertainment was excellent, water polo, water gym, football, darts etc. the evening entertainment was a bit hit and miss sometimes.
Went to the water park which is worth a visit, but don't go through first choice they only give you 4 hours there, and it takes 30mins to queue to get in, it's cheaper to get a taxi and spend all day there.
One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.

I booked this holiday for my partner and 2 kids age 7 and 3 as a good deal through sky travel, the tour operator being Thomson’s, it has first choice in the hotel as well, it was first choice mainly, however kids were able to join in just the same...the animation team were great!
So busy day and night trying to please everyone....the bar staff were excellent waited on you hand and foot.....great meals, no complaints at all and the dining room was first class...spotless...the room was big and even had cooking facilities even though we were all inclusive....my only objection was the towels which were placed out from 1 am in the morning and by 7am you had no chance to get one at all.....I actually with help through a few in the pool at 1am after having a bit too much to drink....to many Germans which are very competitive, you are on holiday...these people need to learn to chill out.
Overall this hotel is recommended, everything is so close together and it is only 20 mins max from the airport, perfect for the family, we are biased as we had a great time and really sad as we were only there a week and it is just not long enough....hope this helps and book now!!!!

We have just returned from two weeks holidays and it was an absolute nightmare. A very tacky place, full of mosquitoes, drunk and rude Dutch and German people, with uncaring staff people.
We have 3 children: 5, 7 and 9 and they thought it was ok but honestly it was impossible to sleep at night because of the noise; impossible to get a sun bed or umbrella unless you get up at 6am; the food was boring and repetitive; the actual hotel needs a good refurbishment as when we arrived in our "family suite"-NOT there was this horrible smell of dead rats, blood patches on the wall from dead mosquitoes, horrible uncomfortable bed ...brief a disaster!
Also there was a power cut at 9pm once who let us and the kids in the dark for almost 2hours and on top of that the air conditioning stopped working on the second day we arrived!
The outside temperature was about 45 degrees so make sure you take a good hat and plenty of sun cream lotion. I would strongly advised people to take a second look before booking this rip-off place.
The only good point was the reps from first choice who were really good with kids.
It really put us off travelling to Greece ever again especially taxi drivers who were not embarrassed smoking 10 cigarettes while having 3 young children and a pregnant woman on board!!!
Want a better holiday go for Butlins...much cheaper!

I went to Atlantica Princess with my mum dad and 10 yr old sister. I had and amazing time there and wished it never ended.
1. My favourite part about this hotel was the Animation Team who all fantastic people. Dimitre (sooo funny), Jacob, Lele, Tijana, Pat, Romy thank you so much for an amazing time! If you get these reps be sure to join in with sports and activities like archery, water polo, football and club dance, there's a lot more, but they are a good laugh, also that way you become more friends with them which was nice to be known by them, but sad to leave them behind! They spoke a lot of languages such as French, German, Dutch, English and Italian. The entertainment they did at night was good. Not the best I've seen but as they worked their socks off from 10:30 in the morning you couldn't fault it. They worked extremely hard!!
2. The hotel and pool area was very clean with lots of sun beds for pool use in the day. However you had to up early if you wanted at least 3 beds, they went quite quickly.
3. Food: The breakfast was quite good however we had the same for 10 days, which got kind of boring but there was still a wide variety of food. Dinner was my favourite meal they served barbequed meat, with things like chicken nuggets and chips for the kids (the chips are really nice though so don't just get them for your kids!) They had an afternoon tea and cake I believe at around 4:30 which I wouldn't be able to comment on as I was usually at that time about to start volleyball! Then finally tea. There was lots to choose from at night. They often had themed night such as Chinese, Italian ect. which was nice for a change. The desserts were very repetitive, however what do you expect??
4. The Bar outside in the taverna was quite fluent and organised. Thanks to Nicolas...OMG I don’t beleive it! There was lots of cocktails and local liqueurs etc. which were all totally free for All Inclusive members. Ice Cream was nice that was available from 10 to 12 i think!
5. The beach is extremely close about 100 metres away you meet a blue, WARM sea, very nice there are also jet skis and things you can hire further up the beach. I would definitely recommend the jet skis! You can hire sun beds there too for only 3.50 euros per bed.
6. First Choice Mini Disco...Even though me and my sister did not attend the Wave Length club, the mini disco was on stage at 8:30 every night for everyone to watch/dance to. It was ace lots of new songs with dance routines that the kids could do, really cute to watch!!
7. Trips out. We visited Rhodes Town, which for me being 14 didn't appeal that much to me, but my parents enjoyed it. A very beautiful setting though. The shops were average I must say, but I suppose if you do visit there you won’t be aiming to shop. We then visited The Water Park. That was very good, lots of really good slides and something for all ages, a lot of thrills too!
I don't know what else to say really, a great place for teens and adults as well as little kids. Hope this review has helped you in some way, and if you do go to The Atlantica Princess I hope you have such a fantastic time as we did.

Just returned from a 2week stay a really nice hotel, food excellent, very clean and helpful happy staff. Unfortunately there are downsides to this hotel. It mentions in the brochure that tea/coffee facilities are provided, a kettle you get plus tea/coffee sugar on arrival, and they do not replace the tea/coffee once used. This is a big hotel and we found that the pool is to small for this size of hotel, the pool area is large with extremely uncomfortable sunbeds, when we first arrived there was only 15 sun umbrellas and unless you were up before 6am you would not get one, there is only 1 bar, situated at the pool area and found that you were waiting and queuing to get a drink sometimes waiting long periods, there is waiter service in the evenings only but we found there was not enough staff and ended queuing at the bar. The beach is a short walk away with a sunbed costing 3euroes 50 each, we ventured into Rhodes town on a few occasions by taxi taking approx 10 mins and costing 9 euros.

This was our first holiday outside the U.K and we have had the most fantastic time. There was myself, my husband my two boys aged 10 & 7 and my baby girl aged 23 months.
Our hotel room exceeded any expectations we had, being a family suite it had two floors with two balconies one overlooking the beautiful sea the other overlooking the gardens which included the bar, pool and kids play area. The room was spotless, roomy to say the least and as the air conditioning was on it was lovely and cool (never experienced any problems whatsoever).
Yes the Germans & Dutch would be the first at the sun beds with their towels, but I suppose they have to holiday somewhere too, but we never had any problem with the sun beds whether this was because the season wasn't yet in full swing, but we preferred to go to the pool later on in the afternoon as the baby pool was in the shade then, we always managed to find a few sun beds free.
The boys though would be in the pool as soon as they could and always had enough room to play and splash about!
The food in the hotel was we felt fantastic, there was always something there you would like and plenty of variety - be warned I have put on 7lbs!!!! I could not resist the luscious desserts, cheeses, salad dressings well basically everything. There were always plenty of choices for the kids as well, alright my kids are not fussy eaters and were excited to be trying different foods.
The staff at the hotel were always helpful, cheerful and happy even though they seemed to be working from morning till night in this very, very hot country. The hotel itself was always immaculate, they pool area, bar area and foyer, well just about everywhere you couldn't fault it, it was always clean and tidy.
Whether we were lucky I don't know but we didn't see a mossies and didn't need to use the electric plug in we took.
We went on the holiday to go to a wedding in old Rhodes Town, well worth a visit if you get a chance - as mentioned before the taxi is about 10euros each way.
We had the time of our lives and I could go on forever about how fantastic this hotel is, the only downside for us is the fact that we only went for a week - we will definitely be returning, but for longer next time!!!!!
