Atlantica Princess Holiday

Having visited the Atlantica Princess Hotel 2 years ago, we were looking forward to visiting again. Our second visit met our expectations and was as good as the first.
Our party consisted of myself, husband, son (aged 7), and parents. It was great to see all the friendly staff again, and we were remembered. We received a basket of fruit and wine in our room on the first day, and a surprise cocktail from our favourite waiter at the bar.
The service from the hotel staff was excellent, and they could not do enough to ensure you were enjoying your holiday. The rooms were always kept clean, and so was the poolside, staff were out at 6.00 am cleaning the pool and surrounding area.
The food was excellent and there was plenty of choice, even for the picky eater. A great variety for children from the usual chips to all sorts of pasta and sauces. In the evenings there was a variety of themed nights, from Italian, Greek, Oriental etc.
The entertainment staff were also pleasant and ensured you were happy. There was a variety of games on through the day. Whilst the evening entertainment was good, it was a let down on our previous visit. We felt there was too many singing shows and not enough audience participation, such as fund game shows etc. But everyone has their own taste. After two weeks, we had heard a certain member of the team sing enough.
Overall, it was a great holiday with really hot tempatures at this time of the year.

  • Advice: Ixia is a small town with a variety of good shops within easy walking distance of the hotel

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the atlantica princess for 2 wks the end of june & it was one of the best holidays we've had. I was a bit worried after reading reveiws as it seemed more like a family hotel, but we had nothing to worry about. The kids reps and entertainment staff were great with the kids but there were other couples there aswell.
CHECK IN- We arrived to the hotel about 9pm after a 15 minute journey which was good,
we checked in straight away and were given our all inclusive wrist band and room number, we even had time to have a quick dinner.
POOL- The pool is lovely its not massive but is big enough to have a swim. we went the end of june and theres no need to get up early to get a sunbed many places you have to be up at 7.00 to get one, it wasnt like this at all. After a few late nights we didnt go down to the pool till lunch time and there was still plently of room. Its fun watching everyone play water polo aswell.
FOOD- The food is lovely, i was quite worried as im a fussy eater but i found somthing i enjoyed every day. the desserts are tp die for. brekfast got a bit boring after the first week but lunch and dinner was lovely.
BEACH- The beach is next to the hotel with sunbeds,it was a pebble beach which we new already from the brochure so wasnt dissapointed. i wasnt to keen on a pebble beach but it wasnt actually that bad. The sea was so clear and warm and wen you get in its all sand.we went to falaraki beach for the day but the sand was just to hot to walk on, and the sea it not as clear.
ENTERTAINMENT- The entertainment was great, wasnt broadway shows but if you want that dont go to places like this. The entertainment team are great and always try and keep you happy. bingo every nite which we won 100 euros. the kiddys disco every nite which was fun to watch. we enjoyed the mama mia show and karaoke.didnt really like the greek night which was on twice while we were there but we went out them nights. ravashing rick is great.
STAFF- Ive never been to a hotel whos staff are as helpful and friendly as here, they cant do enough for you. 10/10
ROOM- Rooms are a good nice with everything you need, hairdryer, fridge, air con. nice size balcony, tv.
LOCATION- The location is good, its quite a quiet area but still has shops and you can get a little train from outside the hotel to takr you up to more shops.
TRIPS- We went on a few trips, we went to turkey for the day which was good, very very hot but worth going. bought loads of t.shirts for cheap.we went to falaraki water park for the day which is also worth doin, the only downside is you have to get a taxi as no buses run to there from where we were.
went to rhodes town which is also good espeically at night. falaraki beach was about 15mins away which was lovely but the sand was too hot to walk on.
Overall this hotel is lovely and is defenatly worth going to. would love to go back one year.
Another thing if you travel with thomson or portland the reps are fantasic always around when you need them and always see them walking around for a chat.
10/10

Just ret from our holiday, what an amazing time we had. The hotell was excellent, even though i thought the rooms were starting to look a little tired, but i heard the hotell is due for a re-fit during the winter monthsw. The food was fantastic, ime a vedgie, but ther was something there for evryone even my fussy kids. Staff were so friendly, I have never experienced anything like it, Even the manager walked round chatted to evryone.
Our holiday rep Dave was the best rep we have ever had, normally u see the rep about twice a week, but he was always around, walking around the pool and chatting just making sure evrthing was ok. I had a prob, when he was off duty, but he insisted it was no prob for him to sorte it there and then. Well done David.
The ent on the evening wasnt Broadway by far, but it was entertaining. Rick was a very good compair, and jo had a very good voice.
All that is there left to say is, if u have any worries, dont. You will have a loveley holiday.

Great Place!

What a great place, would recommend this place to any one, especially families.
Our party consisted of 4 adults and two young children (aged 3yrs and 16mths) and we ALL had a great time! Weather was wonderfull
Food was great, a wide selection to choose from, so wasn't disappointed. We would definately reccommend the GREEK NIGHT as the food was good and the Greek dancers were really good.
The pool area consisted of one large pool, a small kids pool with slides and a baby pool with a canopy to keep the sun of them. It was extremely clean with plenty of sun lounges and parasols.
Rooms were very clean and had lots of space. we upgraded to a family suite for an extra 10 euros a day (which was a bargain) as the room was massive and laid out on two floors with two separate bedrooms. The rooms were cleaned and we were given fresh towels every day. Beds were comfy too.
The staff worked very hard and were extremely friendly and helpfull.
The only thing i would say is that the evening entertainment wasn't the best (apart from the greek night), however the entertainers did work very hard!
I would recommend all to go to Kallithea Springs, it is a beautifull place. Lindos is great too, however i would not recommend if you have young Children or you have trouble walking as it is mostly up hill with steps! Rhodes Old Town is a must, with its old buildings, shops and bars/cafes/restaurants.
Will definately go back!

Myself and husband have just returned from a week at Atlantica Princess Hotel and I could honestly say it was excellent in every way. We have been on tons on All Inclusive holidays and this was the best by far. Only complaint was that we were only booked for 1 week, wish it was 2 weeks. Manager and staff throughout the hotel was very friendly. Manager was there to give us a friendly welcome to the hotel and he was also there to speak to us and see our coach away after our week. Food was excellent and plenty. Weather for the first week in May was really hot. We did not have any children with us but it looked liked they were entertained well with the staff. Thomson first choice reps (David & Chris) were always available and very helpful. All as I can say is you wont be dissapointed by Atlantica Princess Hotel. Go on give it a try, we will be going again.

  • Advice: Nice wee resort

May 2009, chrissy 56

just returned from the atlantica palace after two weeks with our 6 year old grandson who had the time of his life, especially with jelly kelly, loopy lynn and amazing emily at the kids club, who were so good with him [he,s not the easiest child as he has adhd]
our room was huge, immaculately clean, the maids so cheerful. beds a bit hard but thats a minor detail.Rick and the entertainment team really try so hard to please everyone, his 'double act' with anna, [who's from sweden]during the evening bingo kept us smiling.
Jo, james, & michelle, with their song & dance routines, just don't know where they get their energy from, they never stop, rick is a born comedian, has a great banter especially when heckled by a six year old!!!
food was very good, always something to choose from.plus you could actually taste the alcohol in the cocktails.
This was also the first time i have ever been met by the hotel manager whilst waiting for our coach to the airport and asked if everything had been alright for us.
I can see why they were awarded trip advisor hotel of the year

Bad points first
1, tour staff not very helpfull when u need them no where to be found.
2, the beach not great for toddlers
Great points
HOTEL STAFF
warm friendly very helpfull.
Seemed to have lots of time for everyone they got to know you as a person not just another one of the hundreds that went before you.
They work long days and nights but they were always smiling and happy which makes you happy and relaxed.
The service was great be it at the pool the bar or dinner table drinks were served cold when you wanted.
ENTERTAINMENT STAFF
As it was coming to the end of the season most of the entertainment staff had gone home and we were left with the three greatest people every funny friendly happy and well up for a laugh.
Not to pushy trying to involve people in the games and acttiveties.
They made me feel like a tean again playing waterpolo, aqua slash, darts, killer pool, archery, football, volleyball, giant connect four and loads of other games in the day.
In the evening more familey games quizes bingo then the caberet.
Have to take ur hats off to them they were around the pool by 9am then running round all day and night but still have time for everyone.
THE FOOD
I have never been on an all inclusive before so didnt know what to expect with the food i thought it would be a free for all things getting mixed together and cold and running out of stuff.
It was nothing like that no mixed food or cold and never ending ammount of everything and all fresh to there was no lunch left overs served for dinner and no dinner left overs served for lunch.
I have a few food allergies so have to watch what i eat. When i wasnt sure about what was in some of the food all i had to do is ask the chef and he explained what was in it so i had a relaxin time with no worries.
THE ROOM
We stayed in a familey suite as you walked in you had the toilet to the side then n front the kitchen/diner then the living area leading to a balcony over looking the sea. Then you went down some stairs you come to a large bath/shower room toilet then in to a large bedroom leading on to a balcony overlooking the pool it was ammasing.
THE HOTEL
As you walk into the hotel you enter a large open planned area with lots of comfy seats tables and internet area also reception.
Off that you have a small shop, dinning area and a bar.
Easy access to all floors by stairs or lifts.
Tidy size pool and a little pool for youngters and babies there is also a shower area for wen u get out the pool.
Outside bar well shaded in parts for when you just want to chill out relax and not worry about being burnt.
Nice big play area for the younger ones and kiddy club for the tots so you can have some peace.
Shaded grass areas around the pool.
Your across the road from the local shops real cheap prices.
Taxis just a call away ask recepition and just out front of the hotel is the land train stop which goes to rhodes town and to nearby trianda.
Not to far from airport was first drop off and last pick up so travel wasnt to bad.
ONE LAST BUT IMPORTANT THING
if u get the chance go to the cake box the cakes are to die for 15min walk from the hotel

Great Holiday
9 / 10
Oct 2008, AliMetz

Just returned from a one week half board holiday with my husband at the Atlantica Princess and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The hotel was very clean and relatively modern with large rooms and surprisingly large bathrooms. There was no air conditioning because they switch it off in October and it was surprising how hot the weather was in the middle of October, about 24 degrees. We found the size of our balcony plenty big enough with a really nice sea view of the coastline round towards Rhodes town and across to Turkey. The freshwater pool was good but very cold, although very refreshing when you needed to cool down. The food selection at breakfast and dinner was very good with plenty of choice for all ages and taste buds, with themed nights e.g. Chinese, Italian, etc. most nights. Men need to remember to bring long trousers or jeans for evening meals in the restaurant.
The staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. We didn't participate in any of the poolside games but the rep staff seemed very good, especially entertaining was watching the fun and games during mid morning aqua-splash! The hotel was very quiet this time of year so no problems at all getting a sun lounger and usually right next to the pool if you wanted.
A trip to Rhodes town and the harbour is worth a visit and at 2 euros each way on the local bus (or 11 euros in a local taxi) is great value and much cheaper than the organised excursions. It's very easy to get there and not a problem getting back safely to your hotel.
There’s also a little road train that stops outside the hotel every hour between 10am and 8pm and for 4 euros each takes you on a 45 minute ride to the local resort along the coast and then through the local town, which is especially great for those who wouldn’t be able to walk that far.
There are a couple of cafe/restaurants and shops/mini-supermarkets just outside the hotel which stock pretty much what you need, including fresh milk and English teabags if you want to make a cuppa back in your hotel room (there's a mini-fridge and full size kettle in the rooms).
A short 15 - 20 minute walk away are many more cafes, restaurants and shops. Alkionis cocktail/sports bar is well worth a visit, we popped in there most evenings. Very friendly staff, good lunchtime snacks and plenty of big screen TVs if you're missing your soaps, X-Factor and football!
We didn’t feel the need to transfer to the All Inclusive package for an extra 18 euros per person per day (minimum of 3 days), you can also transfer to just the All Inclusive drinks package for 14 euros per person per day. The local food and drink prices were very reasonable – 2 euros for a glass of wine, 3 euros for a pint of lager and about 4 euros for a cocktail.
We were supposed to check out of our room at 12 noon with collection for coach transfer to the airport at 7.30pm, and although we were prepared to pay the 55 euros for a let checkout we were very kindly given a complimentary late checkout until 6.30pm. This was probably because the hotel was so quiet at this time of year though.
All in all we had a great time and would highly recommend this hotel, location and time of year to any couple seeking a quiet, relaxing break with excellent weather.

Atlantica Princess Rhodes GO THERE!
10 / 10
Oct 2008, jadexxxxxx

i am a 13 year old girl on the 2nd August 2008 me and my family flew out to Ixia in Rhodes and we was staying at the Atlantica Princess resort my parents picked this because they thought it would be a good resort for me my brother and step-sister we made tonns of friends so of you have any children and your looking for a place to go here is the place there is always loads of little kids and loads of teenagers. I am from england although some of the people i met at the hotel were from sweden wales norway and all spoke fluent english so it was easy to get along with them my younger brother met people from germany and belgium aswell! on this holiday we went all inclusive i do recomend that you go all inclusive and not half board or self catering the club reps were extremley entertaining and i have to say that other than the people that i met there the thing i mis most has to be the club dance there is a variety of activities at atlantica princess aqua aerobics pool darts bingo...loads! the rooms are very spacios and have air conditioning our room in particular has an upstairs and a downstairs so we had a very nice view from the upstairs balcony towards the sea and from the bottom blacony we could see the pool! the pool isnt as big as it looks in the brochure although it is BIG and very very very fun, internet acess is availible it isnt the cheapest amount of money although its worth it the meals are very nice there is diffwerent varietys also the chips there are the nicest chips! the waitors at the hotel are amazing they speak alot of english so it is quite easy to speak to them peter was my faveroute waiter theyre all really funny! there is a beach JUST DOWN THE ROAD it takes a minute or two to get there i dont recomend that you go to the shop inside the hotel because it is very dear but just across the road there are two very big mini markets which are very cheep but you may not need to buy a lilo or any water things anyway because next to the toilets is like a big pen where people who are leaving or just lost property goes and basically it is just a big pen where all lost or unwanted lilos and water things go and you can use them instead of buying your own, there is a big play area for kids under 10 its like a pirate ship its good. there is a kids club propbaly for under 10s and that looked very fun rhodes is also a very nice town to go to there is alot of cheep designer stuff to get hold of in lindos town and rhodes old town but seriously it is HOT IN LINDOS although back at atlantica princess it is hot so you will catch the sun but it is a very breezy area so you never get over hot cause theres always a breeze you can hire a car within the hotel which our family did and went out for five dasys i recomend the ostrich world where you get to ride on camels, i dont really recomend the butterfly place although the reps will say that its good its not really interesting and i recomend falaraki water park especially if you have kids they will LOVE IT! seriously this was my best ever holiday and ive been back for two monhs and still miss it and would love to go back BOOK YOUR NEXT HOLIDAY THERE IT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Atlantic Hotel: like most of the...
7 / 10
Oct 2008, Mr B O''Connell

Atlantic Hotel: like most of the hotels in the area it is very 70s looking.

The pool; is adequate but not as big as it looks in the broacher, the pool is filled by tap water which is a blessing (warmer than sea water) & and a nuisance (the chloride can over bear the eyes). There is a deep end for diving and a shallow end. There just enough sun
beds to go around however some positions go shaded early due to the trees. There is a nice grassy area near the deep end which is a good place to get away from the splashing. 6/10

our hotel room was big & spacious and clean. 8/10

Food: Breakfast is fine, normal UK fry up fare with mini pancakes,
cakes and Greek yogurts. 7/10
Lunch is served near the pool and is a mini version of dinner with the addition of one of the meats/fishes being BBQ. 6/10
Dinner is in the main indoor restaurant and is very typical of an all-inclusive menu, not bad, not great. There is just enough choice of meats, fish, pasta, salads and kids meals to suit most. The food is tasty and not bland like other places who maybe have more choice. There is also well made soup, freshly made pasta and a chief special starter & roast. There are also theme nights. 7/10

Drinks: are served to you at lunch and dinner. The outside bar which also doubles up as the evening bar has a system where you queue to order your drink you then sign the receipt before walking around to pick up your drink. It feels weird at first but sort of works; it stops adults & kids from barging in. The drinks are of good quality
and the selection is good. The cocktails are particularly good for AL. 8/10

Resort: has a few eating houses and supermarkets there is also an excellent toy shop. It is easy to get around via the taxis which can be ordered at the hotel. 6/10

Entertainment: is varied and done with great energy by the in-house team. Water polo, aerobics and bar games during the day and a varied cabaret, mini bingo and the usual games at night. A couple of new acts would have been a nice addition. 6/10

Staff: all are friendly, happy and helpful (yes even the reception). They work hard all day and have my respect. 8/10

Beach: is nearby but rubbish. Not enough happening, no amazing scenery and with no sand and only dusty pebbles we only spent about an hour there. 2/10

Watermark: good day out 17€ e/w by taxi, it was a little busy but managed to do all the rides several times in half the day.

Overall: glad I booked the place, the weather, staff; hotel and grub were all great

I have to be totally honest here....
6 / 10
Sep 2008, Mr C Thompson

I have to be totally honest here. This hotel is not a four star, the staff though are fantastic, the rooms are large and clean, the meals poor very much the same as the week goes on, The entertainment group smashing people but it wasnt entertainment for over 13 yearolds they tried but it didnt blow my frock up im a bit passed playing school games but the kids in the hotel loved it, the bar in the hotel is not very good at all, one small bar serves the pool area and the lounge area, you have to que at one end to place your order then move down the line to receive your drink, the ques can become large due to the size of the hotel, we found that most people on AI just hogged the hotel pool area during the day so they could drink as much as they could take, no chance of a sun lounger after 6am and too compact everybody was on top of each other no space for yourselves, the beach 2 mins away was pebbly but very good spent most days there 7euros for 2 beds and a brolly, there was a cantina on the beach that served great food during the day knocked spots of the hotel food, Rhodes town fantastic place to visit 4euros on a bus or 11 in a taxi, loved it in Rhodes Town but would not be visiting Ixia again, it wasnt what i was expecting
