Was in Key West in May 2006 stayed at another resort for three nights then moved to Southern Most,we love everything about this place,nice size rooms,the pools,the beach,the pier which they are working on,the staff always willing to tend to your needs,very clean,going back in October

My husband and I just got back from a mini (Sunday through Wednesday) at Key West. Our first time there and I am delighted that we chose the Southernmost on the Beach. The location has got to be the best in Key West - close to the action, on the beach, it was superb. The Cuban Deli accross the street is super for picking up a six pack for your room (has refrigerators) and a nice sandwich to eat by the pool or the beach. We had never stayed on Key West before so we read hundreds of Tripadvisor reviews before deciding that Southernmost on the Beach was what we were looking for. What we were looking for: a place to hang out by the pool, a balcony to read brainless paperbacks with a good view of the ocean, not too many kids running around (we left ours back home) and being close, but not too close to upper Duval St. for fun in the evening. We have visited Key West for the past six years and stayed here for the last three and won't stay anywhere else in Key West.Every year we stay on Marco Island for a week and then travel to Key West,then the Dry Tortugas. Southernmost on the beach has a perfect location on the beach 1 block away from Duval Street that is conveinent for shopping and sightseeing but we have never had any problem with noise or crowds. My boyfriend and I stayed at Southernmost on the Beach from Sept 3rd - Sept 7th. We truly enjoyed our stay! Our hotel room was great - We were on the 2nd floor of the middle section of the hotel, so our room overlooked the pool and beach. The beach was small - we didnt spend time on it because there was so much seaweed in the ocean & there was a strong seaweed smell on the beach - When we inquired about this, we were told that the ocean/beach had a significantly higher seaweed content than normal due to the recent hurricane - The pool was... more

We stayed at this hotel for almost a week, it was wonderful. The negative reviews are very misleading. From the initial reservations to the checkout process, the staff was great. We had a bottom floor with a partial Ocean view, which was fine. If you want full ocean view, you need to go elsewhere and pay for it, but Key West has so much to offer that that was not necessary. We stayed at Southernmost on the Beach from June 8-12 2005 & I was very skeptical after reading many bad reviews. The hotel is really a remodeled motel but much nicer than you are picturing. Yes, you face the beach, but the beach is not what you are coming to Key West for right? If you are, then go somewhere else! Our room was on the bottom floor because we did want to save money on our trip & we did comparison to our friends who chose to stay on the top floor. Best place to stay on Key West !! If you're looking for a resort where they have shops, dining, etc all within the hotel, then this is not the place....but then again....why the heck do everything in the same place, and not venture out for the local flair ?!?! And as for the negative reviews, some people need an education on ocean"View" and ocean"front". The hotel sits longways out into the ocean. Therefore, the 2 rooms at the end, 215 & 115 would be ocean"front". All others are "view". And if the hotel sits out in the water, how can you not... more

Stayed at Sothernmost on the Beach for a bachelorette party and we all really enjoyed it. The room was comfortable and the staff was really nice. The beach is also right next door. And if you're not a big beach person- then the pool in front of the hotel is a great alternative. I think the hotel was definitely worth the price and I would stay there again!!
