" Perfect Chillout "
Submitted By: Ian FletcherThe ammenities and daily activities were more than a match for those who wanted an active holiday.Though no pressure was put on anyone if you just wanted to sunbathe and relax. The water sports, especially the Para-sending was breathe taking and exhilarating. A trip to old Rhodes town is a must, but try using the local bus service, rather than a hire car, as it only cost 6Euro's for a return, and drops & picks you up right in the hub of the town. All in all I would totally recommend this Hotel for a perfect Chill out experience. A useful tip is book your All Inclusive in the UK before, rather than upgrade when your there. We saved 5 Euro's a day per person doing it this way.
Advice: Peacfull & relaxing

Submitted By: roseanddaveThe entertainment was also great both during the day and the spectacular shows put on by Gareth, Michael Charlee and Rosie were excellent. The resident duo was Jacksfield who also were good, they do a lot of 60's 70's and 80's mainly with some more recent songs as well. Once a week the Management recognise their staff with a Cocktail hour followed by fireworks - great show.

" A True Gold Hotel "
Submitted By: Janey50This is simply a wonderful hotel, really just one word sums it all up - excellent ! Our room was a Superior Room and had beautiful views of the sea. Bath Robes, Slippers, Fruit, Wine etc were all waiting for us in our room. We had 2 televisions in our room ( not that we watched them much; plus there was not alot of channels to choose from ) and also a CD Player. The room was spotless and our bedroom was upstairs from the main lounge / balcony area. The air conditioning was heaven as it was very hot the week we were there.
We were ' bitten ' to death by mosquitoes ( ankles, legs, backs and arms - you name it we looked like dot to dot without the pen ). Never gave it a thought for the month of October ( next time we shall be well prepared ).
My birthday on Tuesday 14th October came along and later on in the day the staff had placed a bottle of Champagne in an ice bucket with 2 champagne glasses on the coffee table, plus a lovely card from them all. This indeed was a lovely thought and touch.
The staff are a joy - so very friendly indeed. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They treat you as friends.
The food - dont go here if youre on a diet - I have never seen so much choice of food, there is literally something for everyone. I would be very surprised if anyone complained about the food. The standard of food on offer is very high indeed.
Dont forget to go on your one A' la Carte night if you have gone All Inclusive - this is one night per week per stay. Book as soon as you arrive as this is extremely popular and gets booked up fast.
The Entertainment day and night is very good indeed. We enjoyed the 3pm quiz around the pool bar every day; if you go along dont forget to have some jokes with you to put on the back of your quiz forms - these prove to be very popular - in the end we ran out of jokes and had to text home for some more !
We also booked with Thomson to keep our room until 6pm on the day of departure ( as our flight home was at 2am ). You have to be out of your room quite early in the morning on the day of departure and we dont like these courtesey rooms. Depending on the exchange rate ( you have to do your homework on this one ) it worked our cheaper through Thomson at the time of booking. As on the day of departure the hotel wanted 50 Euros for a few extra hours for your room. Naughty !
Also we booked our All Inclusive option through Thomson ( as this too was cheaper than going through the hotel ). The hotel at the time we stayed there wanted 24 Euros per person per day ( around £18.65 each, £37.30 for two per day = 7 days another £261.10 a week ). We didnt pay anything near this price, but again do your homework.
If you dont go All Inclusive it can work out expensive, especially where the drinks are concerened; as usual you are paying hotel prices. For example 7.20 Euros for a cocktail ( around £5.50 ).
Thomson advertise this hotel as no children under 16 years of age - true. However there were a few children there ( we think they must have been German ) but they were no trouble at all. It was heaven to go to a hotel with no children screaming around, running here, there and everywhere !
All in all we had a marvellous time, weather was hot, staff fantastic, food superb, hotel was excellent. We met some lovely people and would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to one and all. The actual place of Kolymbia is very quiet ( maybe because it was coming to the end of the season ) but it suited us as we wanted to go there and do absolutely nothing. If you want a lively resort then perhaps this place is not for you.
If we did have to complain about anything ( which we have brought it to the attention of Thomson and the Hotel on their questionnaires ) it was paying EXTRA for the fridge and safe in your room. As an All Inclusive customer one would expect this to be included in the price you have paid - we found this very annoying indeed. But its not a bad thing to only have to complain about !
As Arnie said - We will be back !!!

" Spotless, faultless and priceless.... "
Submitted By: Mr Stuart FennellSheer quality with staff who are hand-picked to give the very best service. The Imperial is simply the best holiday resort hotel we've ever been to. Sandals could learn a thing or two regarding service levels from Atlantica.
Congratulations to the management of the Imperial. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday.
Portland/Thomson regard the Imperial as their very best Gold offering. So they should. Its just a pity that their attention to detail struggles to match that of the hotel - but don't let that put you off in any way.

Submitted By: Miss J CotterillIf you choose to go all inclusive upon arrival at the hotel it will set you back 20 euros per person per day with a min booking of 4 days. If your planning on spending most of your time it is well worth it becuase the hotel is so expensive 7 euros for 2 lemonades!!!
We went out most nights so didn't see much of the entertainment what we did see was good though - the comedians are a must. Whilst we were there they had a greek lady singer who was awful but did make us giggle at just how terrible she was.
The food is wonderful - my favourite was the Tex Mex night. Try the chicken buritos they are to die for!! Our first meal there was a traditional English sunday roast and I have to say it was very good. The is something to suit everyone and even english sausage for breakfast and heinz baked beans for breakfast!!!
If you do a right out of the hotel and walk straight up for about 200 metres you are on the strip. Not that much to choose from in way of restaurants and pretty limited if you are up for a bit of a bar crawl. Some of the other reviews I've read raved on about Statues and Memories but for me the music was too loud, the staff too busy to chat and the drinks were way to expensive i.e. £7 for a small sangria and a half a lager in memories!!! We walked a little further up and were so happy that we did because this is where we found Heaven Bar. It's ran by a local guy and plays really good music, has a cheap pool table (the gaffer will play all night with you and make you feel so welcome) and the drinks are so cheap yet I can vouch that the cocktails do in fact contain alcohol (I would question the alcohol content of the cocktails in some places along the strip).
If you are going with your partner this has to be one of the mos romantic places ever - espeically if you check into a 'Dream Villa' the title does not dissapoint!
We are already looking to book again for next year - of course it will have to be a 'Dream Villa'
We booked through Portland holidays and travelled with Thompson. We paid just under £700 each for 1 week half board.

" Very nice and confortable hotel. Big... "
Submitted By: Mr Fred & ManuHotel staff very kind and helpful. Most of the residents are from England. Animation in English. It is better to speak and understand a little bit English not to be lost. Unfortunately the sunbeds are not free at the beach and you have to wake up early if you want to find a sunbed around the swimming pool or in the garden (even if the hotel regulation doesn't authorised the "reservation" of sunbeds before 8am!!!!).
To be recommended if you want to spend a quiet holidays (in June).

This resort is not value for money and sadly a rip off if you believe the published 5 star rating for this Thomson Gold holiday package.
The hotel wavered between a 3 – 4 star accommodation at best and never met the dizzy heights proclaimed by the tour operator. Superficially the layout and décor of the communal spaces were pleasant. However the furnishings and finish of these areas were not 5*; e.g. some curtains were ripped, light bulbs were missing, there were no fresh flowers, very few pictures and the furniture in places required some TLC. Beware the lift… it can bite.
The bedroom that we booked was billed as ‘Superior’ and really was not worth the extra money. The carpet was dirty, the bedspread (that doubled as a so called ‘blanket’) was filthy, the sheets were synthetic, there were no pictures to speak of and the cleaning was not up to scratch (e.g. I had to make the bed every night). The bathroom looked nice, but there was no extractor fan or window, no vanity mirror, the light was poor (making it difficult to apply make-up) and the bath towels were small and rough. Finally things like tissues which I would expect at a 5* hotel were missing.
When we arrived at the hotel the air conditioning in the room was faulty and one light bulb was missing (this was fixed the following day).
The food oscillated between good to poor. The roast meats / joints were good as were the salads and entrées. However, if you were looking for more variety than this it was disappointing. The house wine was not worth drinking… Breakfast was the standard affair and became rather repetitive. The standard of cooking for the ‘a la carte’ restaurant was the same as the main restaurant, and considering this was meant to be the culinary highlight of the hotel it failed miserably.
The outdoor areas were fairly well kept and the pool was clean (although too small for the number of guests). Beware the paving around the pool it is very slippery if you have wet feet. If you wanted to actually swim you had to wait until either the evening or jump in the pool first thing before the other guests arrived. The most common usage for the pool was for ball games.
The entertainment each evening really was nothing to write home about and in places was excruciating (and embarrassing for non-English guests). If you enjoy music then this is not the place for you. In fact when the entertainment was on there was nowhere to go to if you did not want to be bombarded by it (it was loud, loud, loud and distorted). During the rest of the day you had to endure ‘lift music’ everywhere…
The beach was small and clean but nothing special.
The location was alright, but as I mentioned above there were no places to go to in the hotel if you wanted some peace and quiet (you could hear the ‘evening entertainment’ in your room with the double glazed doors closed!).
I really don’t think that ‘they’ have made the most of this location or the hotel. This is a missed opportunity by the Atlantica hotel chain and Thomson.
What was good about the hotel? I could not fault the weather it was perfect!
Advice: If you are looking for 3* and good weather this is the location for you
