Shasa Hotel Casavela

This resort has only been opened for 11 months, and the faciltiies & decor are modern and trendy. The rooms are more like self contained apartments with full size dining, kitchen, lunge and laundry facilities. Bathrooms are massive with the bath almost like a small pool (we stayed in room 223 which is the basic 1 bedroom). If I had to comment on things to improve, it would be the hotel was not busy enough for the buffet breakfast and we selected continental option (american, continental, & asian). The hotel is just ok. Location is really isolated, far away from everything.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, without any hesitation. All 6 of us enjoyed our 5 days here, and didnt want to leave. The comfort levels, standard of service are as good as any of the best hotels in the world. The only downside is the beach- quite stony. But there are plenty of swimming pools, so don't let this deter you.

Stayed for 6 days at Shasa, with family, 4 and 7 year old kids. Peaceful hotel, appr 30 rooms, do not expect action, go to enjoy relaxed atmosphere and good service in quiet surrounding at the south east part of Samui. Hotel almost empty last weeks in February. My wife and I just returned from a week at the Shasa hotel, our second trip to Koh Samui (last time was in October 2005). We had an absolute fantastic time at this unique resort, from the moment we arrived to the day we left. The hotel located on the south east coast of the island is a hidden gem. 5* Luxury Apartment resort & a True Home away from Home with everyting you can think of in your luxury apartment - OK maybe the TV channels were a bit limited but the have DVD's, great music system etc. Hotel - fairly remote but most 5* luxury resorts in Koh Samui are remote. They do operate a shuttle service into Lamai twice a day and taxi back is THB300. Situated next to water with great views. We stayed at Shasa for 4 nights and loved every minute. We opted for a seaview suite, and were very impressed by the size and quality of the room (If you can call it that, it's more like an appartment). Did an extensive tour of the place, but did not stay as wirelesss was very slow and non exixstant, and serious lack of entertainment ( tv channels ) no bloomberg or cnbc. It was the best hotel/resort we've ever had so far compare to our previous visits to Phuket, Pattaya, Maldives, Hawaii, Caribeanne, etc. The Shasa hotel is pretty new (8mths old), with only 32 seaview suites and 1 villas. We stayed 6days in Rm341 (Penthouse) Exclusive floor overlooking the stunning landscape of infinitely pools. We (Two adults + two kids 4, 9) were in Thailand for two weeks and originally planned to stay in Centara the whole time however, a week later, we felt we wanted somewhere special to end our holiday . We contacted Shasa directly and were offered a fantastic rate for the exclusive suite and a complimentary pick up from our hotel.
