Santa Maria Suites

We just returned from 4 nights at the Santa Maria suites and could not have asked for a better experience. I am always hesitant when I book unknown properties online, but based on TripAdvisor reviews, I took a chance - what a gem! Our party consisted of 4 adults traveling with three 20 year old college kids. We booked two of the first floor pool view suites which are by far the best rooms in the house. We spent 3 days at the Santa Maria and would recommend it highly to visitors to Key West. The suites are large with a full kitchen, living room area, two bedrooms and two baths. The master bedroom and bathroom were particularly large and well laid out. The concierge was very helpful and friendly. Any requests that we made were immediately carried out. This hotel is at the "quiet" end of Duval Street but the shops, restaurants, bars and Mallory Square are within walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back... more

If you can afford to stay here you should. Its a superb spot, quiet yet close to the action. Extremely friendly staff like the manager and Ken the concierge. They allowed us to use the office computer to do online airport check in!! But the most outstanding thing is the quality of the rooms. The decor and the fittings are really quite superb. If we'd known the rooms (and Key West overall) were going to be quite so good we'd have stayed longer :-)

We stayed at the Santa Maria Suites and our experience was wonderful. The only negatives were the itty bitty coffee pot in our suite which held a mere two cups of coffee (there were 4 of us in this two bedroom suite) and the maids were not very good at remembering to leave washcloths and shampoos, etc. However, when we asked management got a second coffee pot for the room and gave us our washcloths, etc. The location is great. If you are looking for a great place to visit with a WONDERFUL place to stay - Key West and the Santa Maria suites is the place to go. Depending on your budget, it might seem a little pricy but it is so worth it! Other than an amusement park, Key West offers something for everyone but especially to the over 21 crowd. You just have to remember that everyone is on "island time" and you have to adjust your own clock accordingly. This place is absolutely incredible, so much so that my 15 year old daughter, and 12 year old son can't stop talking about it. It is located one block over, and on the quiet end of Duval Street, which is a great place to be. The condos are top of the line everything, from the built in appliances, to the 3 big HD LCD tv's. The ability to be able to cook is nice if you are so inclined, or if you are like us and just like the fact that there is are refrigerator, you won't be disappointed. This is THE nicest hotel in Key West! Every review was right on - exceptional 'rooms', fabulous service, great location. We absolutely LOVED this place and will stay every time. I have stayed at some super nice hotels and even had really nice rooms but the Santa Maria is so beyond a hotel room. We stayed at the Santa Maria Suites on July 25 - 29 and found the previous reviews to be very accurate, we just couldn't find anything about this place that we didn't like. The unit that we stayed in had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths on the second floor and a living room, kitchen and half bath on the first floor, a perfect configuration if your traveling with teens that stay up into the late hours. My wife and I stayed at the Santa Maria Suites for our surprise honey moon. Many of the review I read claimed it was a wonderful place to visit. They were all right. We thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations, the location and friendliness of the staff. The rooms were spacious with a living room/kitchen and a large master bed room. Although quite expensive, it was worth the 'luxury' given we booked for seven nights. Located near the south end of Duval St, it can be quite a walk from there to the north end. If you use the Pedo-Cab's negotiate the cost 'before' you agree to use them. They charge $7.50 for five minutes and if the traffic is heavy, the ride is slower. One young man took $30 to take us from around the middle of Duval St back to the condos. A real taxi cab would have been $6 + tip.
