Ryad Dyor

Total culture shock on arrival! Our cases were taken from the taxi into a cart and we were led through seemingly endless identical narrow alleyways teeming with people, scooters, bikes and donkeys. We spent four days at Ryad Dyor over the New Years holiday, and we loved it. Yassir and staff – wonderful – friendly, helpful, just “go beyond” what other staff at hotel usually do. It felt like we were staying with friends who wanted to make sure we had a good time. After we left and were staying at other places, we would say to each other – we miss Yassir; we wish the staff were more like Yassir. Just returned from 4 delightful days in this beautifully restored designer 'boutique' riad with well appointed suites, tucked away in an excellent location in the least 'touristy' and completely authentic part of the medina...the walk to and from the souks and Jemaa El Fna square is fascinating and feels totally safe day or night...we felt totally at ease as the locals go about their daily lives... and you get the best of both worlds! We spend most of our working lives in 5* hotels...and are used to and expect exceptional service.... more

We enjoyed only one night at the Ryad Dyor and we were very impressed with everything about the place. Nothing was too much trouble for Paul and the other staff and the decor of the Ryad is absolutely magnificent. The rooms are very large and spacious and beautifully appointed. Paul can organise very good guides for the souks, as well as transport and dinner reservations. There is a small pool in the courtyard for cooling off after an afternoon of walking the souks. I would highly recommend a stay at the Ryad Dyor.

We spent one night at Ryad Dior but would have loved to stay for a couple more. The place is in a good location, tucked away in the north part of The Medina. Boutique style rooms are very well presented, as is the rest of the Riad. Whilst being a lovely place to stay, it probably wouldn't stand out from other good Riads, were it not for Paul, the manager, who was both charming and pleasantly eccentric, whilst being extremely good for recommending places to go. Riyad dyor was a strange place to stay. The place itself is nice... rooms are strange shaped, but pretty nice... it was the details that were wrong.... No toiletries, which I personally would expect from a boutique hotel. Staff were erratic. Paul the manager was on one hand helpful, on the other hand a bit scatty and all over the place! This place is much more like a trendy b&b than a boutique hotel.... perhas that is what they are attempting to achieve, i don't know... I personally would have preferred a more boutiquey feel and better... more

We spent 5 wonderful days at Ryad Dyor in Marrakesh. The Ryad is an oases of peace and has been decorated for guests to feel like in a fairy tale. We were welcomed by Paul and had such a nice introduction and lots of informations about things to do and he recommeded us some very good restaurants. We really had an excellent dinner every day . We planned a short family holiday with our two children, my son of 16 and daughter of 13 and thankfully we were recommended to Ryad Dyor. We were so wonderfully received and were so welcomed that immediately we felt completely at home. Our 16 year old son was not so keen to stay for five days, and after a few days he was sorry we were not staying longer. Spend 4 nights in this stylish new place. Lovely interior, interesting mix, kind of east meets west, but then , in a different way. Very cosmollitan. Comfortable rooms but most of all our stay was made special by the staff. We were looked after in a friendly way and tipped on all kinds of special places. Great restaurants and clubs we would never have found if it wasn't for the manager paul who arranged all. it was a loverly stay!

We have just returned from 5 nights in the newish Ryad Dyor in the North part of the Medina in Marrakech. The riad has been beautifully restored and provides a very confortable base from which to explore the city - if a little far from the main things going on though the walk through the medina became easier with time! The problems were with the water being cold some of the time and of low pressure and the management - Paul - seeming to do very little about it.
