Great Riad, fantastic host and fab location
I stayed here with my father at the end of November and we had a great time. The Riad is very typical and down a series of great, atmospheric alley ways as is typical of the Medina. The Riad itself is clean, nicely furnished and the rooms are great and typically Moroccan. Location could barely be better. A five minute walk to Djemaa and the walk itself is fascinating and part of the experience. The host (Stephane) is extremeely, friendly, helpful aqnd entertaining and even took us for a walk to the main square to buy us an oraqnge juice. We... more
Friendly, clean and in the middle of the centre of the medina!
We stayed in Riad Alamir for three nights and really enjoyed it. The people are so nice and the room was really clean. The owner took us for a drink in the medina and he gave us a lot of tips. This is the perfect riad to stay when it's your first time in Marrakech! So go there and enjoy....
A beautiful, clean and friendly place to stay.
I would totally recomend this Riad. Stephan (the manager) and his wife Valarie are very freindly and so helpful. The Riad is clean, beautiful and very welcoming.Stephan was, from start to finish, the perfect host. He took time to show us the way to the main square. Which beleive me you need - the streets are a maze, and it is so easy to get lost! He gave us tips on where and what to eat along with some suggestions of places to visit. He organised a Haman for us and a cooking lesson with his cook Fatima. I will definetely visit... more
Without a doubt, the best Riad and host you could ask for!
I'd been to Marrakech once before, and loved it. This visit, however, was even more fantastic, and that was purely because the Riad Alamir is so wonderful. We were met by Stephane, the Riad's manager, and from the start to the end of our stay he was incredible! He took so much time to talk us through places to see, restaurants to go to and things to experience. Stephane also walked with us to the square, which was VERY useful, as anyone who has been to Marrakech knows, the backstreets are a maze! He also organised a Haman (at "ISIS",... more
Lovely stay
I's a charming little Riad - tastefully decorated but not over the top. The room we stayed in was Alamir - very spacious but cosy. Stephane was a lovely host during our stay - he suggested some lovely local cafes to eat in - really enhanced our experience of Marrakech. Best home cooked Moroccan food though was at the Riad itself - cooked by Fatima. We had a lovely time - Thanks Stephane!
Superb riad, excellent location, fabulous host!
Riad Alamir, centrally located in the Medina, is decorated with traditional Moroccan furnishings and comes complete with all modern conveniences. The riad has a rooftop terrace (perfect for our lazy breakfasts and watching sunset), plunge pool, mint tea on demand, friendly staff, 24 hour reception, daily room service, free wi-fi..... the list goes on! Stephane is definately the host with the most and went beyond his normal host duties to ensure we had the very best time in Marrakech. On the first day we received an personal city... more
Excellent modern riad with traditional decor, great location, try the home cooking!!
We stayed at Riad Alamir for 3 nights and were very impressed with the standard of decor and comfort of the rooms. The decor is typically morrocan with an excellent reception/rest area with plunge pool and roof terrace where you can have breakfast in the moroccan sun. It is well located in the old Medina and has excellent views of the koutoubia mosque's minaret. Food is traditionally made to authentic morrocan recipes by a local cook and is good value. Would definately recommend to friends staying in marrakech
Great Riad in the heart of the Medina
We thought we might be riding our luck by visiting Marrakech in November because so many people said it's winter, it's the tail end of the season, standards drop off...How wrong they were. If you haven't been to Marrakech you have to prepare yourself for a real culture shock because everything seems to fly at 100mph. The people, the atmosphere in the souks and on the Djemma, the mopeds...everything seems to want to be first in line to contribute to this amazing carnival of life. No surprise then that you can, from time to time,... more
An oasis 5 minutes away from Jamaa el Fna
I would like to dedicate some lines to Riad Alamir, the place in which we have been for three days. At first, i would like to thank Stephane, his family and all the riad stuff for their hospitality, we have felt like being at home. The Riad is amazing, completly well decorated, clean and peacefull. Every morning you can enjoy a great breakfast at the terrace on the top of the building. You will enjoy the juice, fruits, coffee, tea, toasts and the rest of this amazing breakfast watching the medina and the Koutoubia tower. Our... more
oasis in a hectic city
It was our first visit to Morocco and Marrakech. The city is very interesting but at same time quite hectic. The hotel was situated very near to the central square. After half a day or a whole day in the city, the hotel felt like an oasis, with a very hospital host and real nice helpful staff. The Taijin served at the terrace on the top of the building was excellent and so were the breakfasts. A recommendation !
