It's the location that matters. Just a few minutes from Rossio and the major sites of the city. It's on Rua Augusta, a pedestrianised street which is busy during the day and quiet at night. We had an ensuite room with balcony overlooking the street - which is worth asking for. Room small but OK. Bathroom tiny and if everything is just a little bit tatty, at least it's clean. Great location, quiet, nice staff - rooms old, tired, not very clean. Continental breakfast is hot beverage and rolls only -- bring your own fruit. The location and price makes it worth it.

First of all- please realize this hotel is probably the most BASIC hotel you can get in a city! The rooms are really two beds, a dresser, and a tv. We were trying to save money- and chanced the room w/o a bathroom. It worked out ok- we never waited for the bathroom and they were maintained rather well. The breakfast is small- but good enough. Check in - quick and professional Room - Small but ok. Nice little balcony facing pedestrian street. Toilets - Clean Shower - Problems with the plumbing made the water stay in the tub. Price - A little high concidering the size of the rooms and toilets in the hallway. Staff - Helpful and cheerful, but not always accurate.

We booked two rooms but on arrival only one was listed. Problem was quickly sorted by efficient young receptionist. Location is great - right in the centre of the pedestrianised city centre but hotel needs a make over. Housekeepers do their best to keep it clean. Rooms adequate in size but need re-decoration. Breakfast OK but do not expect to get the eggs, cereal and fruit shown on the website.

in spite of earlier booking we spent 7 days in small and dim room with view of the wall. window has bo be closed all the time due to the roof below giving easy access to the room. every morning they were promising the move but finally did nothing. we have paid for this room the same as for their best though "lonely planet" says they have various prices for different rooms.

the only thing going for this place is location. room without air conditioning. fan provided. room small. shower fair. breakfast buffet pretty good.

Location alone made this hotel a great place to stay. I took a room with a shower in it but could have taken one without to make it cheaper. Bathroom was a little damp and the shower waterpressure kept failing but if you can stand that then its not too bad at all.

experienced in the 1st week of september, 2004 the hostel is very nice. it's on the main walking street of Lisbon, rua Augusta. it's a busy street, but not very loud. a 2-person room with bathroom is 55 euros/night, breakfast included, in main season. the room is cleaned every morning, towels are changed as well. you can leave your luggage at the reception prior to checking in and after checking out. nothing was ever stolen from us. reception is open 24/7. if you ask for a room without bathroom, you'll save a LOT of... more

more central is impossible just inside rua augusta... pedestrian area located in famous baixa try it, you can find rooms with or without bath(cheap) choice is yours...
