Just do your homework about Time Shares!
My husband and I just returned from our weeklong honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas. This was our first trip to Mexico and it was obvious from the minute we stepped off the plane. I think we must have had the words 'Suckers' written across our foreheads. While we were expected to be greeted by our travel ageny reps, little did we know, the men who came up to us and ushered us to their counters were not the people picking us up...but TIMESHARE SLEEZEMAN...oh, I meant 'salesman.' Don't get me wrong, we actually had a wonderful time in Cabo and the... more
Relaxing Vacation
My brothers, a friend, and I went to the Pueblo Bonito Rose in the last week of August (just getting to write this now). The Hotel was very nice and the service was fantastic. The walk into town from the hotel was a little leary. You should try to walk into town early and if you do go out at night travel in groups (otherwise take a cab). You're better off chilling at the hotel from Mon-Wed and save going out into town until the weekend. The happy hour from noon to 1pm is great to just hang by the pool and knock a few Tecate's and maybe jump... more
2 Star
5 Star property with 1 Star service. No straight answers. Food is mediocre. Would ask for supplies for the room that never came. Every day we had a bet to see if we would be missing a pillow, get 2 conditioners instead of a shampoo, etc... Door lock stoped working, hotel ran out of cold water, etc... Beach vendors will not let you have a moments peace.
Just O.K.
I spent a week at the Pueblo Bonito Rose and although it is a very pretty resort with nice rooms, to me it was lacking. It is very large and the elevators are very far apart so there can be a lot of walking to get to your room. Also, most of the rooms do not have an ocean view, and the room we were in looked over the roof of the building across the way, being very noisey hearing the air conditioning units in the roof. Also, the resort did not seem to have a warm and friendly atmosphere. I actually prefer the Villa del Palmar or Club... more
Pueblo Bonito Rose
My husband and I stayed at the Rose. Clean well appointed gym and spa, excellent massages, room clean, large, very small kitchen. Maybe better if you have small children to feed, but we really used the refrigerator. Watch out for timeshare vendors unless you are really interested we passed and were told we did the right thing from others. We thought the food at the Rose and next door at the Blanco was good. Same for Mi Casa, The Original Trailerpark (lobster) The Office on the beach. Beware of vendors on beach, better buys in town, All in... more
honeymoon in cabo
My husband and I stayed at the rose for our Honeymoon, August 25th thru the 3rd of sept. The hotel was wonderful. The beds were a little hard and it was almost impossible to shave my legs in the shower. {no ledge to put your foot on.} Other than that it was absolutely perfect. We are definetely going back and we will either stay at the rose or the blanco. The pool was wonderful at the Rose , the pool at the Blanco seemed a little quieter.{Less Children}. The restaurant at the Rose was wonderful, We went to grill night and i had the best... more
Best Kept Secret No Longer
My husband and I stayed at the Rose' last year for our anniversary-Wow!! We had such a fantastic time, and found it hard to venture out off the resort. The spa is the best I've ever seen, fabulous restaurants, gorgeous pool/cabana area, etc, etc. We spent alot of our days unfortunately doing the timeshare pitch at other resorts, and each time we came back to the Rose' and felt So lucky that it was the best!! Disadvantages: "some" ants in the room, but it's Mexico, what do you expect??; vendors bugging you on the beach; have to pay to use the... more
Rose is paradise in the desert
We were lucky enough to get a week at the Pueblo Bonito Rose on SkyAuction for an amazing price. The resort is great in everyway. Great rooms, great service, very nice people who can speak both English and Spanish. Speaking at least a little Spanish definetly has its pluses. Check in was fast eventhough we got there at 10am because of a previous day's flight cancellation due to a hurricane in Los Cabos. We were offered a timeshare presentation which I accepted but only after telling the salesperson that I would go only if she cut to the... more
Rose with no Thorns
Took entire family on trip to Cabo June of 2003. Since this was first time there we weren't sure where to stay. All the hotels looked great on the internet. Trip Advisor reviews certainly helped. We narrowed our choices down to 3, The Westin, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach and the Rose. We were literally on the phone booking our vacation when we made the final decision and boy did we make the right choice! Since we had 3 teenagers with us we were afraid that staying at one of the places outside of town would be a bit boring. If you are at the... more
Fabulous Trip to Cabo
This was my first trip to Cabo and my boyfriend and I stayed at the Rose' and LOVED it!! I would consider myself a hotel snob, and I was very impressed with the amenities, service, level of cleanliness and the overall ambience of the resort. It was spotless and the service was impeccable. The Spa is amazing as was the gym, and there were no complaints out of me other than the fact that there are not a bathtubs in any of the rooms. If you are under 30 (like myself), the timeshare salespeople won't even look at you, so you don't have to worry... more
