Best "New" Hotel in London?
from eurtravfam
Read the reviews here and had high hopes for this new property along the south bank. I had stayed in many 4 star London hotels and they just did not live up to standard. The Park Plaza County Hall is located across the street from the current construction of another hotel complex, no noise, only crane operators looking into your room during the day!! Directly behind the old County Hall and London Eye and 2 minutes from Westminster bridge and Big Ben. Wonderful views but only if you are above the 10th floor and facing away from...

Modern Park Plaza
from FlopsyBunny
I recently took my husband to the hotel for his birthday. We were so pleasantly surprised. Excellent location, clean, modern and best of all happy and enthusiastic staff - well apart from the bar. The waitress was very pleasant but a little offhand! I ordered a cake for my husband and was really chuffed when we were greeted on check-in with a happy birthday to him and then a complimentary cake and rendition of Happy Birthday in the bar. In all we were made to feel so welcome and even a little bit special. We would have no qualms...

Fantastic Location
from Sue047
We stayed for one night and really enjoyed the stay. The staff were extremely helpful, particularly in the restaurant. The room was spacious and modern. The location was fantastic- it was just a short walk over the Westminster bridge to Big Ben.
Brilliant hotel and location

Just got back from a weekend in london. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the train station however, when you come out of the station turn left and walk this way round as we walked all in front of london eye by mistake which obviously takes some time. As we were waiting to check in drinks were offered which i thought wasa very good touch. We had been upgraded to a river view room which was very good and our room was ready early. The room itself was very good 2 telivisions, kitchen, bathroom very nice with gorgeous huge bathrobes and...

Superior hotel with most friendly staff and service
from Laney05
I stayed in the Park Plaza County Hall for 5 days only 1 week after its opening - and have been back there 3 times afterwards. Due to my job, I stay about 200 nights in hotels every year - but I most clearly say that I have not experienced this personal service anywhere in Europe before. The staff is amazingly friendly, professional, and helpful. Especially to mention Luke Jozef Francois, the Senior Guest Services Manager literally "reads your wishes" and ensures everything is to your pleasure. This hotel is a state-of-the-art example...

Good Hotel
from bwin111
I have just returned back from a weekend away at the Park Plaza with my boyfriend. We understood that it had only been open a few weeks, so were a bit worried about the so called teething problems many seem to have experienced. The best thing about the hotel is the location - right around the corner from the London Eye, central to most sights. We found it easy to get around, all in walking distance. Checking in was pretty quick, and was very pleased to be upgraded to a studio room, despite the view now being a construction site!...

still getting up to speed
from watpar
Stayed on Business for three nights. Initial impressions are good all bright, shiny and new. However having stayed here three days it is fair to say the hotel is still working towards full efficiency. Firstly, I was upgraded to a suite, near the lift's. For some strange reason they have particularly loud chimes on the lifts making sleep near them impossible. Until they change this do not accept a room near the lifts. Second room was very good standard and well insulated from noise. Nice bathroom, and separate lounge area.<br...

One of the best!
from KSW1
We stayed at the Park Plaza hotel for 2 nights whilst on a weekend away with the wife. We had a fantastic time. We arrived into Waterloo and the hotel was only a 2 minute walk to the left of the station. We arrived in the hotel and the staff were very pleasant took interest in how we were and upgraded our room to a Riverview room. The room was very large it had a plenty of lighting and cupboard space and large plasma TV, nice kitchen with minibar and coffee machine. Excellent bathroom which had massive bath and shower. Living room with sofa...

Good Hotel, Good location
from Hassers
Nice, clean and trendy look. Brilliant location if visiting London and want to see the sights. Just round the corner from Waterloo station, 3 min walk to London Eye and 5 mins to Big Ben. ......... We had booked a weekend trip to London which included rail travel (from North West England), tours of the British Museum (terracota army exhibit) and Dome (Tutankhamun exhibits). All for £130 per person so didn't expect much of a hotel for the price. Definitely not a decent 4 star, they must be giving travel companies big...

Good new hotel in London
from Poliwhirl
Stayed a saturday night in early March. Hotel newly opened and seemed quite busy. Well located for Waterloo Station, County Hall, the London Eye, the South Bank etc. Modern and clean. We stayed in a studio which had a double bed area as you enter the room with flat screen TV, wardobes etc. and then a central kitchenette area and nice marble bathroom and then a lounge area beyond with a double sofa bed, desk and large flat screen TV and wall to floor windows. We had a room on the 5th floor and had a view over Waterloo Station and south London...

Limited choice in the Spectrum, although it is possible to catch the underground to nearby locations for food. In fact near the London Eye there are a couple of restaurants/cafe worth trying. Room was clean, but noticed dirt under the bed. Service was okay until I tried to... more
