" Great hotel for families with young... "

Great hotel for families with young children. It opposite the beach and the beach is enormous, clean and fab.
They have a children's play room, small playground by pool and are building large playground nearby, baby pool and two larger pools which are very clean, reasonably priced buffet restaurant, kids discos, supermarket on site - everything you need if you aren't planning on traveling too far. This is the second time I have stayed here and although it would not be my first choice resort wise (not a lot here and not a lot of English - no racism intended!) if I had a choice - it is just so practical with kids that I would return again for a cheap beach holiday.
Staff speak good English and are happy to help. Rooms are reasonable size, cleaned frequently but with very basic cooking facilities - take a tin opener! They do NOT sell any nearby.

As far as a 3* hotel goes this is one of the best I have stayed in. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The view was great. The resort was OK. We paid 10 Euros for airport transfers. The beach was over the road and was looking great.
" The Fontenellas Playa is located in... "

The Fontenellas Playa is located in the German resort of Can Pastilla, which was not really a problem because they speak English there as well.

Generally I considered Fontanellas as a slightly better than average 3 star, with clean and comfortable rooms, a great view, good location right by the beach and a very short transfer, although taxi still charges from 15 - 20 euros.
Visiting in January was hard to judge a summer package here, but it would seem a good hotel to be based, as it was easy to travel to Palma, Magalluf and around the island.
The only down side was the appearance of the room wasn’t great - metal around doors peeling off and walls needed a brighter paint.
But as they go, this was a reasonably nice hotel and the resort was good too, would make a good holiday for German families but if you’re willing to fight them for the beach and sun beds then avoid this resort.

The rooms are cleaned daily and new towels are provided. The staff are friendly and will try to help out whenever they can, if there is a problem that is their fault they will leave you a bottle of wine in your room, or if it is your birthday during the stay you get fruit and wine which is always a nice touch.
The hotel is mainly used by Germans and Dutch, not many English at all. So make sure your up early to beat the towel on sun lounger rush!!!! (Or do what I do, take the towel off and move the lounger so they don't know it is you ha).
The hotel has 2 big pools and a children’s on the lower level. (And an indoor pool for the winter months) The ones on the lower level have a slopes to get into them which is great for children and people in wheelchairs who can transfer to the floor or walk short distances.
2 people in the party were in wheelchairs and the hotel has great wheelchair access. (I have recommended it to other wheelchair users and they have all been and said the same).
I have only been half board in the hotel once and found that the food wasn't that good, after 2 days we ate out. But there are many eating places along the front and a great Italian at the side of the hotel (not the one facing the sea, just walk around the side towards the football courts).
The only few problems I have found with this hotel are:
That there are 2 big pools and not enough sun loungers, and like I said earlier the Germans get them at about 7am!
If you book a room with a sea view sometimes you can only just see the sea through the tree's, the apartments all have good sea view rooms though.
The drinks in the bar are quiet expensive compared to the bars on the sea front.
I go to can Pastilla about 6-9 times a year and I have stayed in this hotel the most.
Hope this is helpful.
