HI WE HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM OUR FIRST 2 WK HOLIDAY ABROAD TOGETHER AS A FAMILY, MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE 3 CHILDREN AGED 9, 5 YRS AND 18MHTS. WE ABS. LOVED KEFALOS BEACH VILLAGE AND CYPRUS. UPON ARRIVING WE WERE VERY EFFICIENTLY CHECKED IN AT RECEPTION EVERYTHING EXPLAINED TO US AND KEYS HANDED OVER. WE WERE THEN TAKEN ON A GOLF BUGGY AND ALL OUR SUITCASES TO OUR APARTMENT, WHICH WAS NOT TOO FAR AWAY BUT LOVELY NOT TO HAVE TO DRAG ALL OUR SUITCASES, A PUSHCHAIR AND OUR 3 CHILDREN IN WHAT WAS VERY HOT WEATHER!!!!!!!! THE PORTER INSISTED ON CARRYING EVERY SUITCASE UP TO OUR ROOM, MY HUSBAND TRIED TO HELP BUT BLESS HIM HE WOULD HAVE NONE OF IT. MY MUM AND DAD ALSO CAME ON HOLS TO KEFALOS WITH US AND WERE OFFERED EXACTLY THE SAME TREATMENT.
WE WERE SHOWN HOW TO WORK EVERYTHING IN THE APARTMENT, WHICH BY THE WAY WAS A ONE BEDROOM ONE AND WAS LOVELY. SPOTLESSTLY CLEAN AND WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEEDED. THE TOWELS WERE ON THE BEDS AND MADE INTO SWANS WHICH MY KIDS THOUGHT WAS GREAT! THERE WAS AIR-CONDITIONING UNITS IN THE MAIN AREA AND IN THE BEDROOM THESE WERE FAB AND WERE EXTREMELY EFFICIENT, YOU CAN ALTER THE TEMPERATURE AND SPEED ETC. A MUST FOR THE TEMPERATURES WE WERE GONNA EXPERIENCE.
AFTER UNPACKING A BIT WE WALKED UP TO THE TOMB OF THE KINGS ROAD WHICH WAS LITERALLY A 2 MIN WALK, THERE WERE MANY BARS/RESTAURANTS TO CHOOSE FROM PRICES OF COURSE VARIED. ON OUR SECOND NIGHT UPON RECOMMENDATION FROM MY MUMS COUSIN WE WALKED UPTO A RESTAURAUNT CALLED KARLINA WHICH IS UP PAST KFC AND JUST OPPOSITE THE TURNING TO TOMB OF THE KINGS. FROM THE SECOND WE ENTERED WE KNEW WE WERE GOING TO LIKE IT HERE, THE STAFF WERE SO FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING. IN THE END WE WENT HERE EVERY NIGHT OF OUR STAY BECAUSE THE SERVICE THEY PROVIDED WAS AMAZING, THERE CHOICE OF MENU EXCELLENT AND SO RESONABLE COMPARED TO MANY OTHERS. THEY MADE A REAL FUSS OF MY CHILDREN AND WOULD DO ANYTHING TO PLEASE YOU AND ACCOMODATE YOUR NEEDS. KARLINA HAVE A SET MENU OF 3 COURSES, WHICH OFFERED A MANY OPTIONS IN EACH COURSE ALL FOR £11.95 EUROS WHICH WE FELT WAS EXCELLENT. EVERYTHING WE TRIED WAS BEAUTIFULLY COOKED AND PRESENTED LOVELY. THE SERVICE IS SO EFFICIENT WE REALLY CANNOT PRAISE HARRY, ANDREAS AND THE TEAM AT KARLINA ENOUGH, SO PLEASE VISIT. EVERYONE GOES ON ABOUT FAT MAMMAS WHICH IS FURTHER DOWN BUT YOU HAD TO QUE TO GET IN THERE, IT WAS QUITE EXPENSIVE AND THE PORTIONS MASSIVE, LOADS OF PEOPLE LEFT THERE MEALS BECAUSE OF THERE SIMPLY BEING TOO MUCH (SO WE WERE TOLD BY OTHERS AT THE KEFALOS).
ANYWAY BACK TO THE KEFALOS THE COMPLEX WAS KEPT TO ANY EXCEPTIONAL STANDARD ROOMS CLEANED DAILY. THE PATHS WERE SWEPT DAILY AND THE PLANTS ETC. KEPT SO TIDY. IT REALLY IS A LOVELY SETTING FOR A WIDE VARIETY OF PEOPLE. THE POOLS WERE EXCELLENT MY KIDS WERE HARDLY OUT OF THEM. THESE OF COURSE WERE CLEANED DAILY. THERE WAS A GREAT POOL BAR, THAT SERVED DRINKS AND FOOD AND ICE CREAMS WITH A GOOD SELECTION. THERE WERE MANY SUNBEDS, ALTHOUGH THESE WERE SOMETIMES RESERVED QUITE EARLY BUT OF COURSE THE HOTEL CANNOT BE BLAMED FOR THIS. THERE WERE ALSO LOTS OF SUNBEDS ON THE GRASSED AREA WHICH LED TO THE BEACH, THIS WAS A LOVELY SPOT MY MUM AND DAD TOOK TO RELAXING HERE A LOT. THE COMPLEX ALSO HAS A LAUNDRETTE AND SUPERMARKET WHICH WAS VERY WELL STOCKED AND THE STAFF LOVELY.
WE STAYED ON A BED & BREAKFAST OPTION WHICH WAS GREAT IT WAS SERVED FROM 7 TILL 10 AND YOU CAN HAVE WHATEVER YOU LIKED WHICH INCLUDED A WHOLE HOST OF FOODS TO SUIT EVERYONE'S NEEDS, CAKE YOGURT MORE CONTINENTAL BREAKFASTS, CEREALS, TOAST, BREAD, AND OF COURSE FRIED BREAKFAST, ORANGE JUICE/GRAPEFRUIT TEA, COFFEE AND LOADS MORE. AGAIN THE STAFF IN ALL THE RESTAURANTS WERE VERY HARD AND WERE LOVELY.
WE HAVE ONLY BEEN HOME 4 DAYS AND OUR SO DEPRESSED AT BEING BACK IN WET ENGLAND, AND THINKING OF BOOKING UP FOR NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!! I CANNOT RECOMMEND THE KEFALOS ENOUGH THE STAFF OUR AN ASSET THE HOTEL AND THEY SHOULD BE VERY PROUD! WE ALL LOVED OUR HOLIDAY SO MUCH AND BEING OUR FIRST HOLS TOGETHER ABROAD IT HAS ONLY MADE US WANTING MORE!!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION THE KIDS CLUB, THIS WAS ON TWICE AND DAY AND MY TWO OLDER CHILDREN LOVED THIS, KARIN WAS GREAT WITH THEM. THE HOTEL ALSO PROVIDED LOTS OF DAILY ACTIVITIES TO KEEP YOUR BUSY IF YOU WANTED TO JOIN IN ALSO IN THE EVENINGS.
WE CANNOT RECOMMEND KEFALOS ENOUGH AND OF COURSE CYPRUS WHICH IS A LOVELY PLACE.
HOPE THIS HELPS, WE MET SOME LOVELY PEOPLE DURING OUR STAY, HI TO SAM, ABBIE-LOU AND PARTNER, DAVE, ROCHELLE AND SUMMER AND DEVON AND BARRY, ANNA AND SOPHIE!!!!!!!!

I went with my family to celebrate my marriage blessing following my wedding in December 2007. 14 of us stayed at the kefalos Village (for 14 days). We had 4 apartments between all of us. We had booked 3 1 bedroom seaview apartments (1 was BB and 2 were 1/2 board) and 1 studio apartment (where my parents and 1 daughter stayed). When we arrived at the hotel on friday morning at 4.00am, we were told that the seaview rooms we had booked would be unavailable until Sunday. You can imagine our disappointment as we had booked these rooms in February!! We were told that they had upgraded us to 1/2 board anf full board respectively until the move to the seaview rooms. we were also offered the safe free of charge. We did not have much choice but to accept at the time. We were taken to our rooms by the infamous golf cart. Even in our tired state, that was quite fun, and to be honest we could not have lugged our luggage all the way to the room not with the kids as well!
On the Saturday, having reflected on the compensation for the rooms we spoke to the manager Vasili -who by the way is is a very friendly and sunshiny fellow. We thought that for the inconveneince we should be upgraded for at least the week. especially as I was getting married on the Monday and was living out of a box! He came back to us on the Sunday and offered us the upgrade throughout our holiday if we stayed in the rooms we were already in. My sister and I accepted as we were happy with our rooms, but my brother and sister in law, moved to the seaview room on the Sunday. As I visited them - as far as I was concerned I still had the benefit of a seaview room! I felt all things considered as did my sister, that we had a good deal in the end.
The apartment was quite large and spacious. The bedroom had twinbeds pushed together. This was fine as it's more or less normal in these types of accommodation. The girls were happy with their beds as well. These were sofa beds. The kitchen was fully kitted out with a microwave as well (I have never had a mircowave -even in the villas we have used before -luxury!!).
The next day we went to breakfast and the buffet breakfast had a full choice for everyone. This only changes marginally with pancakes or such like. the sausages are done either British style -fried or German - boiled, it's rare to have both types on the same day -some people may not like that - we didn't mind. After 14 days you may want some vairiety -my dad for instance did not go for breakfast everyday because he said it was boring. I on the other hand thought that there was so much variety that you could if you wished have something different everyday. i didn't though - I enjoyed my usual everyday.
Lunch was a bit same-ish and to be honest this was the time I was happy to eat out -especially while exploring the sights.
Dinner (my free upgrade) changed everyday. The only day I didn't particularly like was Tuesdays -Asian nights. The desserts were the same more or less every night. My sister in law and I are chocoholics and were always on the look out for a choccy dessert - when ever there was one - we would take our dessert first as there were loads of other chocoholics!! I think they should take the hint.... However good value if you pay for this. My other guests (there were 41 in all) joined us for dinner most nights and really enjoyed it. As paying guests they thought it was really good value for money.
After dinner there was always an activity - unashamadely we all took part every single night - it was the best fun - Boris is a laugh and really set the tone. We had Binga Bonga Banga (bingo) every night. My nephew won 145 euros. My sister won a 1 hour massage. We took part in Karioke, hypnotism, beach nite, greek night. We were there until about 1 in the morning - we made quite a few friends as a result even though we were quite a large party ourselves. My husband & I were given jacuzzi passes by another couple when they found ourt were were getting married on the monday. We had loads of good wishes from everyone one - and met other couples getting married as well.
The hotel staff were always willing to help. The rooms got cleaned everyday, and the towels were changed at the sametime. The cleaners were very friendly as well.
The boys were always playing table tennis, volley ball, or football everyday -they had tournaments and prizes were won too. My brother who was concerned that he would be bored with a 14 day stay was suitable satisfied and did not really ready to leave -result!
The girls enjoyed the jacuzzi and massage -excellent! decadent!! totally relaxing -Recommended!
Despite our initial disapointment -Kefalos was great - we would definately go back. We have been told that if we go through the hotel direct we will would get a better rate - vasili gave us his card and we will be calling him. Some peple questioned wheter it was a 4* hotel. My personal opinion is for that type of accommodation and for what you get it most certainly is. I have been to 4* hotel here in England and have questioned this!!
I would not bother with the honeymoon suite though. My brother and sister-in-law gave us this room for our wedding night, but with a lack of tea and coffee in the morning - we were up and out fairly early - I guess we could have asked for room service, but it did not occur to us and there was nothing to say that that service was on offer in the room. We enjoyed the seaview though!! Some wine and fruit were left in the room for us. It was red wine which my husband & I don't drink, but they willing changed it to white for us.
The sunbeds by the pool - We are not sunworshippers -don't need to be - so this was not a problem for us - however, for those interested , there were towels being left on the beds despite the signs and no sign of the actual users. On one occasion we needed a bed to put our things on while we were in the pool. We simply moved one of the towels off and put in the the sun bed next to it - there were about 10 of us using the one sunbed - no-one asked or said any thing to us so I imagine that they where not back by the time we got in or out of the pool. We barely used the pool after that prefering to go to the beach, so it really was not an issue with us.
I know this is long, but I wanted to give a much detail as I could, having researched fully before I booked. I have much more to say, but this will do!!! We thorougly recommend the kefalos Beach village as a holiday resort - the fact that it is always fully booked is a testiment to itself!

This was our first family holiday and reading all the reviews we decided that Kefalos was the one. We stayed for 1 week but wish it was for 2. The apartments were spotless, could do with the odd touch up (odd paint drop on tiles in bathroom etc) but was cleaned everyday, clean bed linen every 2 days. The grounds are kept to a high standard too, paths swept daily, lovely garden/flower beds and the pool was cleaned every morning. It is a beautiful pool but come mid-day, poolside did get noisy and busy with families (expected as in holidays) but too loud for us so we used the pool first thing, no problem finding a sun bed before 9. Come at the very most of 10 o'clock - you've no chance but it is free as are the loungers on the beach. No indoor pool due to some problem, downer. Nice beach, it is sand/shingle but can walk on it without hurting your soles of feet. 200m further on there is another smaller sandy beach - like a rocky alcove - but another hotel owns it (Kissos Hotel I think) so you may be charged 3 euros for each bed if/when the staff come to check who is on their beach but they only came once out of the three times we went there. Oh yeah, it's black sand too so can get dirty if with kids.
The hotel entertainment was absolutely shocking especially at night. Good for kids though. In saying it was poor entertainment, many bars on the main road had some dire singer or duo act or karaoke. Blackpool entertainment is better...no lie. I maybe biased as I work in the entertainment business but it really was poor. Still, not there for that. They only had Greek dancing in one bar (twice a week) the other nights they joined the rest of the karaoke bars. Some bars did have the traditional greek/cypriot music, guitar/banjo like instruments.
Breakfast was much better than expected. We ate out every night at local restauraunts and glad we did. The hotel food is good but more pricey than most other local restaurants. Pool/Snack bar was very good though. Fat mamma's gets great reviews but it is very pricey and you can get some very tasty, good quality meals at very good prices at nearby restauraunts. I'd highly recommend the 'Thomas's Jungle Bar' and 'San Marino' for great dining. My partner is a chef and she was blown away by some of the meals. I'd also recommend 'Mr Leiu' chinese although 'Phucket' chinese is highly thought of but agian, more money. All 3 of these restauraunts couldn't do enough for you, treating you like royalty and are on the pier side of the village as to Tomb of The Kings side.
The only miserable people were the bus drivers, everybody else were really pleasant. Spend at least a day at Coral Bay. Totally awsome for calmer seas and snorkelling, golden sand. Do stay on the bus until it stops and turns around, too many people get off too early ( 2-3 more stops)because there is a huge sign that says Welcome to Coral Bay. That is the worst part of Coral Bay, trust me, stay on the bus.
We're going back next year but without our child, so much to see and do. I don't think it is that expensive as many people say, the beer and cigs are very cheap, restaurants are cheap (chicken fried rice = £2......£5 here... 3 course meal for 3 incl 3-4 rounds of drink was no more than 55 Euros-£30 ish. But the soft drinks are the same price as the beer, if not more.
We booked with Thomson and had no problem apart from the rep didn't show up until 2 days before we came home. Thank you Thomson for what felt like we were dumped blind onto another planet and had to find our own way. Remember, this was our first holiday so not sure about many things.
Hope this helps, any questions please ask. I'll give you my honest opinion but everybody is different so you may disagree with some of my text.

Just came back from the Kefalos Beach Hotel (14/7/08). What can I say the place was amazing. The staff were extremley friendly, the rooms were spacious and cleaned everyday, the weather was great through out our stay, the food was out of this world from breakfast till dinner.
When you get to the hotel you fill in your details, then you get transported to your room in what I would call a "Golf Buggy" and you get helped in with your luggage and left too settle in.
I haven't got any complaints about the hotel in general but the beach is a second walk from the pool but unfortunatley you can't get in beacuse it's stoney, but if you go 15 mins up the road you'll come to a lovely sandy beach called "Coral Bay" which has got water sports you can go on i.e power gliding. The pool is great theirs a shallow and deep ends plus a little kiddie pool for the youngsters.
My parents and I would deffienley go back to this family resort, we had a fun two weeks and came back fully relaxed!!!!!!!.
Anyone just heading out, it's a great place and you won't be disapointed. Enjoy your stay.

After reading peoples comments on various websites & looking at the brochures, we decide to go to Kefalos. After being in resort for just a couple of days, we thought this is not what people have said. This is suppose to be a 4 star hotel, we have stayed in better 2 stars. The indoor pool was closed due to a filtration problem, that would explain why over 25 people in our second week went down with ear infections, the outdoor pool we found out uses the same filter, after so many complaints Health & Safety came out, followed by a hotel inspector. If you go in July or August, be prepared to get up early if you need a camp bed (sorry, sunbed) if not the germans or dutch will beat you. The entertainment is ok but all the same, after 14 days of the same 5 songs at the kids disco, it gets a bit much. Rooms ok but could have been cleaner. Breakfast, based on german food mainly. In our second week about 40 dutch students arrived & took over the place.
Saying this the views & walks were lovely.
As a few other brits said, this is an expensive Butlins. Would we go again, not to the Kefalos.

Perfectly perfect in every way. No faults what so ever. We stayed for 2 weeks from 25th June with 25 people, all ages, from 2 years to 50+. We got married on 4th July in Peyia Gardens town hall and it was everything my hubby and I imagined and more.
After searching Paphos for a suitable location for our wedding reception, we decided to have it in the hotel. I am still trying to think of words to describe how special and memorable it was.
The hotel laid out the red carpet for us at the entrance to the lounge overlooking the pool and sea, where we had champagne, punch and canapes. We were waited on by the hotel staff who really made us feel like royalty! After photo's on the beach and the sun-set we sat down for our 5 course meal which left us all impressed with the presentation of it all; we would not have had that sort of food in the UK for the sort of prices that we paid. The tables were laid beautifully and we ate and drank till our hearts content while we listened to the sea and watched the swallows fly by. It was total luxury.
Our wonderful bridesmaid and best-man arranged for us to have the bridal suit for the night which had a sea-view. It was even more special as my hubby had arranged for breakfast with champagne and strawberries to arrive the next morning. Again I was so amazed at the service as 3 waiters arrived at the door, brought it all in and set it all out for us to enjoy in peace.
Believe me, we definitely chose the best hotel in Paphos. We did our reasearch on other hotels and they just did not compare to the service and location of our hotel. We'll definately be back! Promise! It was the first holiday we've not wanted to come home from.
All in all we loved it. Thank you to all the staff and especially the manager who gave us his personal attention and tried his absolute best to make our holiday and wedding the most memorable time of our lives!

JUST RETURNED FROM A WEEKS STAY AT KEFALOS. AS PER PREVIOUS REVIEWS WE HAD A GREAT TIME. HOTEL LIVES UP TO ALL EXPECTATIONS. QUALITY OF BREAKFAST FOOD WAS BETTER THAN EXPECTED AND OFFERED A GOOD CHOICE OF CONTINENTAL OR HOT FOOD. TRIED THE HOTEL DINNER ONE NIGHT BUT IT WAS NOTHING GREAT.
STAFF WERE ALL FRIENDLY AND VERY GOOD SERVICE.
ROOM CLEANLINESS WAS GOOD. GROUNDS AND GARDENS WERE ALL WELL KEPT. POOL WAS GREAT AND VERY CLEAN. LOADS OF SUNBEDS AND DEFINATELY NO ADVANCED RESERVING GOING ON. IN MAY THERE WAS PLENTY TO GO ROUND ANYWAY.
NEARBY RESTAURANTS OK BUT GO FURTHER AWAY THAN TOMBS OF THE KINGS ROAD TO FIND BETTER. PAPHOS HARBOUR LOVELY IN THE EVENINGS AND WORTH A SHORT TAXI RIDE THERE AND BACK.
THE THOMSON REP HAD A SCAM GOING WITH LOCAL OPTICIANS CLAIMING HALF PRICE PRESCRIPTION GLASSES AND SUNGLASSES - WE FELL FOR IT AND NOW I HAVE A DUFF PAIR OF GLASSES.
ALL IN ALL A GREAT HOLIDAY AND WILL RETURN.

What can I say? We have just returned from our second holiday at the Kefalos Beach Tourist Village in Paphos, and can't wait to book again for next year. The Kafalos Beach Village is a complex of studio and one bedroomed apartments which sits on the beach in Paphos. The entire complex is absolutely spotless and extremely well maintained. NOTHING is too much trouble for the large team of staff, from the room maids right up to the General Manager who regulary walks around and acknowledges anyone he sees.
The aparments are basic, the sort of thing you would expect in Cyprus I think, tiled floors etc. but more than adequate with window shutters and air conditioning to keep cool in the hot weather. We booked bed and breakfast but found the small kitchen very useful for making coffee first thing in the morning and of course the fridge kept our wine nicely chilled!! We would also recommed hiring a safe for your stay, not that there is any problem with theft etc, but it gives peace of mind knowing that your passport, money and tickets are secure during your stay. The cost is 1.50 euros per day. The pool is superb, the pool bar and restaurant run efficiently with a good selection of snacks for lunchtime and a HUGE variety and quantity of food at the 'themed' evenings. Of course if you should decide that you don't want to stay in and eat, less than 5 minutes walk away are the many restaurants and bars along the Tombs of the Kings Road. We particulary enjoyed Duomo's Italian Restaurant but also really love Greek/Cyprus food so regularly visited San Marino, Island Blue and King Zorbas for the most delicious Stifado, Suckling Pig, Mousakka etc.
We can't say anything about the entertainment put on by the hotel as we were too busy sunbathing and eating, but we have read poor reviews on other websites. I feel this is a little unfair as they try very hard but it must be difficult trying to amuse different age groups and nationalities at the same time. The TV in our apartment showed English BBC1 and 2, Sky News and on the other channels there were regularly English speaking films or English programmes with Greek subtitles to keep us amused. It was quite nice to catch up with the goings on in Albert Square when we got back from our evening meal, but of course we weren't really on holiday to watch TV!!
With buses running along the Tombs of the Kings Road which take you to Coral Bay, Paphos Old Town (a huge selection of every kind of shop) and the Harbour you really do have the best of both worlds - the peace and tranquility of the hotel and seafront or the convenience of the busy road (you never hear any road noise it's far enough away) which leads to just about everywhere.
We had only been back one day, when I received an e-mail from the hotel answering a booking query I had written on my guest questionnaire, completed when we left. This hotel really cares about it's guests, their comfort and ensuring that they have a really enjoyable holiday. We cannot speak highly enough of this hotel and we really can't wait to return.

Excellent - this is our second time and I will definately go back again. Very very clean, staff lovely and friendly and helpful. Whole complex has a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Brilliant location especially now with the sea path to Paphos promenade which means it is only a 15 minute very pleasant walk to Paphos. I wish I had booked for 2 weeks rather than just one.

This 4 star hotel was immaculately presented and the staff were exceptionally friendly.
We had 4 adults 1 child and 1 infant in our party and found it a very friendly and sociable place to be staying.
It was a 5 minute walk to the main Kato strip with plenty of bars and restaurants to satisfy anyone’s needs. Fat Mammas is a must as is Tea for Two. Paphos Harbour is a 15 minute walk away with plenty nightlife if you want it.
We will definitely be booking up for the same hotel next year and would strongly recommend it for people with children as it has a lovely children’s pool, kids club, kid’s park and is 30 yards from the beach.
With the maids coming in each day and the towels changed every other day this is A MUST FOR ALL TO SEE.

We booked independently through the hotels website and were offered the three bedroom sea view villa they have in the hotel grounds on B&B basis.
A porter with golf cart transfers you to your room. The Villa was brilliant. Two large double bedrooms upstairs with access to the double veranda (large enough for at least a small table and chairs for each bedroom).
Each room has a triple wardrobe, double hanging + shelf space. Plus a 4 draw chest, dressing table and bedside cabinets. large bathroom with shower and jacuzzi. All rooms have remote control air conditioning units. There is a stair gate at the top of the stairs.
Downstairs there is a storage cupboard, very useful for empty cases. The downstairs single bedroom also has a triple robe but no chest of draws and is en-suite. the lounge overlooks the small private pool. There is a full size suite the kitchen /dinner has a full size kitchen with dishwasher and place settings for 8 people. + a 6 table and chairs.
Again all downstairs rooms have individual aircon units which are very effective. Through the large patio doors you have a deep patio with large table and 6 chairs. There is a lockable gate out onto the pool area.
The only downside is that there is little shade on the pool itself if you have small children, although I am sure the hotel would supply extra sun shades if necessary. We seemed to have had maid service every day of our 7 night holiday.
The one -vex is that the hot water does take a long time to run through if the apartments next to the villa are empty.
I haven't said anything about the resort as a whole as it is covered in other reviews except to say you won’t be disappointed. It is the ONLY hotel I have been to where none of the sunbeds were taken before breakfast and breakfast was served until 10am!
There is a beach but the sand too sharp to walk on and the sea too rocky to enter although there is a small sandy beach just a 200m away. The shop prices are very competitive.

We had booked a sea view studio apartment for 1 week. The apartment was very spacious but basic. The view was incredible, sunsets were lovely, unfortunately never made it to watch a sunrise.
Arrived at Kefalos and the staff at reception were ok, customer service could have been a little better but not a problem. I did ask for a safe but was told I was unable to have one as there was no keys and locks left. I wasn't impressed with this so the next morning I went down and asked for one again and this time it wasn't a problem. Got took to our apartment by a golf buggy, was nice.
There has been a lot of discussion on here about whether Kefalos should be a 4 star. I would say the complex has a 4 star rating as it is a beautiful building and very clean, however, the rooms are basic but nice but does need a bit of a make-over to be 4 star standard and I would expect an iron and iron-board in a 4* as I have had them in a 3*.
There is a beach which is nice enough to sunbathe around but I wouldn't recommend using this beach for a lot of swimming.
The swimming pool was nice, no problem getting a sun-lounger but I can imagine July and Aug to be a nightmare. When the bar wasn't that busy a waiter came round the pool and beach taking drink orders which was good.
The apartments are set out like a village, beautiful to look at.
Booked in extra for breakfast, wasn't impressed with breakfast so we only ate there 3 times. There was a variety but I expected a lot of fresh fruit and there was only orange and pineapple pieces and my partner wasn't too impressed with the cooked breakfast. A lot of people ate in there and they found it to be lovely. I cant comment on evening meal.
Tomb of the Kings road is 5 mins away which has a large variety of restaurants and bars, however, I wouldn't recommend that many places on there. I much preferred restaurants and bars at the harbour. A walk to the harbour is about a 25 minute walk away, slightly longer if you walk along the coastal path. The coastal path has no lights so can only be done by day. A taxi to the harbour from Kefalos was £4 or £5 CYP all the time. Taxi to coral bay £10 CYP.
Tomb of the kings is very close, worth a visit.
I really enjoyed my stay at Kefalos as it is in a quiet location, away from traffic noise. I would recommend this place to people as I think it is good value for money for what we paid. I did notice that for the money it looked one of the nicest places to stay in for that price category. I would go back again!

A wonderful complex! The apartments are very spacious and exceptionally clean - cleaned every single day. The swimming pool is wonderful and again the pool and the pool area and complex outside are spotless. The breakfast was buffet service and there was a fantastic selection, ranging from a cooked breakfast, toast, cereals, fruit, cold meats, and cheese. My 9 year old was delighted that he could have a cup of Hot Chocolate every morning, and my 6 year old equally as delighted that he could have his chocolate cereals!
As a family we did not eat in the restaurant in the evenings, preferring to go onto the Tomb of Kings Road - fantastic choice of excellent quality restaurants. Our most favoured restaurant was the San Marino - what a choice! A set menu was offered at Cy£7.50, this consisted of a starter, main course and desert, or an extensive A La Carte menu. The Manager Tony, and his lovely wife Helen, and their absolutely brilliant, caring, friendly waiters were very professional and well organised in the height of the season. The waiters always had the time to "welcome" you and were just amazing with the children and the adults. By the end of the holiday we felt like old friends!
This complex is great for families with children of all ages, and it is very suitable for couples again of all ages. The transfer from the airport is approx 40 mins, and you are ideally placed to visit the harbour and Paphos itself. If you are wanting a more beach holiday, then this complex may not be for you as the beach is a little rocky, although approx 200 metres along there is a sandy beach which does belong to the Kefalos, as a resident you are not required to pay for your sunbeds, and parasol on the beach. Or if you wish you can visit Coral Bay which has a beautiful beach.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday. We are looking to return in 2008. We have some very special birthdays to celebrate next year, myself and my brother-in-law will be celebrating our 40ths and my father-in-law will be celebrating his 70th. For a huge family holiday we could not think of anywhere better!
