I have read all the previous reviews...

Apr 2006, Mr M Crawshaw

I have read all the previous reviews on this hotel, and all I can say is either standards have slipped dramatically or I was given the cleaners room. Upon our arrival in the dark we were taken to your room by golf buggy, good start or so I thought - when we got into bed the sheets were freezing, so cold they felt damp, their was also a damp smell in the air.
In the morning I discovered the room was very damp, kitchen and bathroom had discolored walls from the damp the fridge was rusty, toilet seat broken all in all a it was in very poor condition. It had obviously seen better days as the paint is flaking off all the apartments and the apartment next to ours had orange rusty water running down the walls.
This was not even connected to our room or I would be able to understand the damp, asked at reception why checking out we told them it smelled and was damp, no apology was given, no room change offered. We stayed for 1 night, and that was enough.
Our clothes would have smelled for the whole holiday if we didn’t have relatives who live on the island where we could wash them, they were also going to stay at our hotel with us but once they smelled our clothes they quickly changed their minds.
Overall opinion a very tired complex in need of some tender loving care. Thomson have offered no apology after 5 emails I have also wrote a review for their website which has not been submitted.
Only the good reviews are on their own website. (Bear that in mind).

We went to Cyprus for the very 1st time to get married the place itself was beautiful, the hotel well what can I say it was perfect in every way.
If you didn’t want to leave the place you didn’t have to as everything was on site i.e. Restaurant, shop, swimming pools indoor and outdoor gym with sauna and Jacuzzi and bar, it was perfect for the children as they had a kids club as well.
The hotel rooms were very spacious and spotless the cleaners came every day. The hotel staff were more than helpful, the catering manager organised a finger buffet on our wedding day and they set up a perfect table for us in the evening in the restaurant. The food was also very good.
Breakfast was great you had a choice of everything in buffet style the restaurant was also spotless and very organised. We will 100% be returning to this hotel in the future without a doubt. And comes highly recommended.

The Kefalos Beach Hotel and...
8 / 10
Jan 2006, Miss J Gaynor

The Kefalos Beach Hotel and Apartments were an oasis of calm in a bustling Paphos resort. Situated on the sea front just off the Tomb of Kings Road, our apartment looked out onto the sea in a peaceful location.
The Tomb of Kings Road, just 100yds walk away provided a plentiful supply of restaurant and bars. The only downside was the busy road which ran through the middle of the bars and restaurants and did tend to spoil the ambience.
However, there were some more peaceful side-streets which offered some lovely restaurants including the delectable Metaxas...definitely worth a visit for that special occasion!
At the end of the day it was always a pleasure to return back to the Kefalos Beach Hotel for a peaceful and comfortable rest.

Jan 2006, Mr J Benson

My girlfriend and me spent a week at the Kefalos village in October. It was a lovely place, very clean. The rooms were quite big and cleaned regularly. The hotel is set out like a little village with apartments up and down stairs in a house type setting.
The beach is not very nice but this didn’t bother us because it was quite cold and windy when we went so I would not recommend going out of season!
All in all I would give the hotel 10/10 and Paphos 8/10.

Cyprus is a beautiful island and the people are very friendly and welcoming. The Kefalos Beach Hotel Apartments were lovely; clean, comfortable and the service was excellent.
The apartments are on the seafront in a quiet location just off the Tomb of Kings Road. We were not so impressed with the resort itself, the Tomb of Kings Road resembles a motorway, so is not the ideal place to sit and eat a quiet meal.
Having said that, Metaxas, just off the main street was heaven and I would highly recommend it as a treat.

We have just arrived back from a...

Sep 2005, Mrs S Barraclough

We have just arrived back from a fantastic week at the Kefalos, we’ve booked to go back already. Without covering old ground too much, trust all the good reviews. It’s excellent !
We booked with First Choice (who apparently aren’t using that accommodation after Oct “05) who rated it 3*+. Others I know rate higher but I would say although everything is spotlessly clean, the rooms are adequate- very large but the kitchen was a little shabby so 3*+ is quite an honest rating. The pool is beautiful and there is a fab kids pool approx 1” deep, which our 4year old stayed in all week. We were greeted at the reception by name and taken to our room in a golf buggy. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
The breakfasts are magnificent, well worth paying locally for because the children eat for free cyp£3. per adult. We only ate in the hotel one evening because there is such a large choice of eateries within a 10min slow walk, it seemed a shame not to try them. Try Metaxa’s and Duomo’s for excellent choice, service and delicious food. Fat Mamas always had a large queue so we didn’t bother but that has a great reputation.
Ok tips time ! If you can, eat early as they all offer between 15-25% discount if you order before 7pm ( we had 2 wee ones with us so this was perfect for us) and the staff have more time to chat.
Never queue, because there are sooooo many other good restaurants.
ALWAYS book a sea view before you go. We didn’t and they had all been taken when we arrived and believe me, you don’t want to miss the sunsets ( I would estimate that there are only 20 sea views in total).
Don’t book a holiday to Paphos if you want a beach as we back home know them. The sea is REALLY rough and the whole shoreline is rocky. The Kefalos beach sand is very course and not a lot of it, but hey with the gorgeous pool there you don’t need a beach.
The Cypriots love children, esp. little boys. Our son loved all the kisses from the waitresses. They are such warm & friendly people...just go with the flow.
Eat at Duomo’s at least once(slightly tucked away down one of the roads that leads to the hotel/ opposite the Irish bar-O’Neil’s) everything on the menu that we tried was delicious and the service impeccable.
If you have kids or are young at heart have a day at the Paphos water park. We hired a car but you can catch a bus just a short walk away and you get a refund of your fare when you buy your entrance ticket. It’s really good fun and well worth the money.
The shop on site is a little expensive-like Spar to Asda is over here, but it is well stocked with essentials, so don’t use up too much space in your cases with buckets etc as they are all there.
Lastly, it was between 34-37 c when we were there so make sure you have 25+factor sunscreen with you.
Hope you enjoy your holiday wherever you go, but if you’re at the Kefalos September 2006 we might see you there.

Aug 2005, Mr JE Mason

The hotel was satisfactory, I had all the requirement for a four person family. There was a kids club for children and a good restaurant. It was only a 5 minute bus drive from the town, and had its own private beach with water sports. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to travel to Cyprus.
There is a pool table there, but it is in bad condition, the cues are, damaged and the machine once took my money, although the staff refunded me they banned me from using it again, even though it wasn't my fault. However the hotel does have good standards. It i were to give the hotel a star rating I would give it a 3*+.

Aug 2005, Mrs S B Coomes

On arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by name, they were expecting us and knew who we were. The staff were friendly and approachable and we were soon shown to our rooms.
The rooms themselves were clean and tidy and we were very impressed by the towels which had been folded into the shapes of swans!
The pool and bar area were clean and the staff got to know us very well during our stay. They welcomed us each evening after dinner and remembered what drinks we had the night before.
There were both children’s and adult activities during the day and evening and we were encouraged but never nagged into joining in. The kids loved the activity people, especially Janka.
During our stay the food was lovely - lots of choice and again the staff were wonderfully friendly, our 2 year old fell in love with Dora, one of the waitresses and always looked for her when we went into the dining area.
It was one of the best holidays I have had and we would be persuaded to return to this particular resort.
If you are looking for friendly, welcoming and professional staff and accommodation, this would be the resort to visit.

The Hotel was very good for the price, clean, excellent service and perfect location by the sea. The only downside was that the majority of restaurants were on the nearby Tomb of Kings Road, which was a bit like a motorway; I would prefer a location where you could eat in relative peace. Having said that, Cyprus is a beautiful island and it is well worth hiring a car to travel round and appreciate its undoubted qualities.

Hard to know where to start with this...

Jul 2004, Mr P Emmerson

Hard to know where to start with this one. So many good things to say!
First of all arriving at 12.30 a.m. after a long day travelling, we were grateful for a speedy check in.
Our apartment booked was a studio with spectacular sea view, well worth paying the extra. The apartment was very spacious very clean and well equipped, all you need really.
The location was fantastic, our apartment was right on the sea front with a fantastic lush grassy area in front of it, that was perfect for chilling out on the plentiful sun beds with parasols and no noisy interruptions.
The complex itself was immaculately kept with beautiful landscaping between the apartments. Good food served from the pool bar,(The pool by the way was fantastic in temperature, no heart attack when you jump in).
Local beer in the complex was £1-60cyp. a pint. Jack Daniels & coke though was £3-25cyp. so this gives you an idea how drinks differ.
Eating out was for me a pleasure, with so many varied places to eat. Most notable was the Sissyfos, which was directly above Raffles restaurant. I had the best fillet steak for ages. Raffles was also excellent, but beware if they ask you to fill in a questionnaire at the end of your meal, the following morning some time share people were asking to take us out to see a new complex etc. etc. etc. so it looks as though Raffles wre passing on peoples details to this company, naughty naughty.
The Kefalos is only a few minutes walk from the Tombs of the Kings road, bars, and restaurants galore. The harbour area of Kato Paphos is about 20-25 mins. walk and is very pretty.
All in all a great 2 weeks holiday, with excellent accommodation and facilities, so I would not hesitate in recommending the Kefalos to anyone wishing to stay in Paphos.

Jul 2004, Miss S Knight

As soon as I saw Kefalos I fell in love with it. I was staying in a different hotel at the time and decided that for my next holiday, Kefalos was where I was going for. Two years later, I did return to Cyprus, and booked in at Kefalos. It is a stunningly beautiful apartment block.
Ten minutes after arriving, I was by the pool. The pool is the kind of place you want to stay by and just not move. There were plenty of sunloungers, both by the pool and by the beach.
The entertainment staff were brilliant, the quiz at three, volleyball at half past, there was something to please everyone, they even had tai chi at ten. They were also all so friendly.
Every night after going for a meal, I returned to the pool bar, it was a nice atmosphere. Karaoke night was also excellent. Staying at kefalos made my holiday. It was the first holiday I have been on where I didn’t want to come home; I wanted to stay at Kefalos forever.

My visit to Kefalos Beach Tourist...
9 / 10
Aug 2003, Miss F Oliver

My visit to Kefalos Beach Tourist Village was thoroughly enjoyable. The activities could keep anyone entertained, but if you would rather lie on a beach topping up your tan there are also facilities for you.
There is a poolside bar that also serves impeccable tasting food and the staff are always on hand to help and serve for your needs. I would suggest bringing a cd or mp3 player etc because all they ever play at the bar is Abba.
The apartments are also very nice and get cleaned every day, although I would suggest hiring a safe for your personal and valuable items. The only things to complain about in the apartments are the TV channels, so bring something to entertain yourself at nighttimes.
The apartments and hotel are perfectly set in the middle of all the historical sites and for people with a wild side there’s great water sports facilities just a walk down the beach.
The pool is amazing whether you just want a swim or a chill out on your lilo although I’d stay in the outside pool and wouldn’t go in the inside one as it’s freezing and you’d end up with a cold!
The only other thing I have to complain about is the restaurant for the more fussy eaters. The food is disgusting so I would advise you to either visit the Italian restaurant Duomo or Fat Mamas is another exquisite eat out.
I would definitely say if you were looking for a family holiday this is the place to go.
