Nile Valley Hotel Restaurant

My partner and I chose to stay here after reading the very positive reviews on this site. We were looking forward to a relaxing four days after a hectic travelling schedule in Cairo and Aswan. We arrived to find the reception area being re-modelled with drilling , banging , dust and plaster everywhere. I had requested a room at the back when I booked but we were allocated a room directly over the reception area at the front overlooking another construction site directly outside the hotel with diggers and bulldozers in operation... more

This hotel is beautiful, friendly and comfortable. But the West Bank is not touristy or Americanized in any way, and the hotel is surrounded by rural, dirty roads. I would not have gone out alone, even in the daytime, as a female.

We stayed in Nile Valley's family sized "apartment" which was basically 2 bedrooms plus a kitchenette and bathroom. It was an excellent value and comfortable. The rooftop restaurant really sets the hotel apart and the views are awesome! One piece of advice I have is that -- if you don't have a lot of luggage -- don't use a taxi or hotel transport to get to/from the airport. We stayed 3 nights with the Nile Valley and were so glad we did. Rooms are a good size, air condiditoned and a good place to rest your weary head after a day in the sun seeing the sights. we positioned on the west bank, it is a 1egp boat to the east bank if you take the public ferry or negotiate with a captain to take you and your party for the same price other wise the public ferry is a good option. Our room only cost 28 euros a night. It had aircon and a balcony with a lovely view of the nile. It is very convenient for the West Bank attractions. A taxi to the ticket office costs 10 EGP. The ferry to the East Bank is 1 EGP. We left a 10 EGP tip in the room every morning. We were rewarded with a Sobek crocodile made of towels. Was well chuffed with this :D Very cheap & good laundry service. The restaurant food is nice and reasonably priced.

Hello, Our group of four stayed at the Nile Valley in late August 2007, and if I return to Luxor, I would not stay anywhere else. Excellent service, clean rooms, awesome food, and a beautiful pool made our time very memorable. Prices were very reasonable, and the staff was great (Thank you Mohammed!). The hotel is on the opposite side of the Nile, the same side as the major attractions (Valley of the Kings, etc), which makes for another great location. I stayed at this great little privately owned and operated hotel with a tour group. The hotel is on the West bank of the Nile, away from the bedlam of the main town of Luxor. It costs 1LE on the ferry from the east bank to the west bank and is a short walk to the left when you disembark. There's only so many times, when you find a hotel you can call your "home away from home" and this is one of them. I have been coming here ever since 2003 and have seen the hotel grow; not only in rooms, but also in hospitality and quality of service. Meanwhile they have 21 rooms, but still the atmosphere is great! From the Roof Terrace, you have a great view over the River Nile and Luxor Temple. We've been twice to this hotel. The service is fantastic. All our trips to the museum, valley of the kings etc were arranged by Nile Valley. The rooms are clean and very big. Thank god they have air-conditioning in every room. We can recommend this hotel to everybody. Next year we go again.

I would like to tell everybody that we found a very nice and cosy little hotel on the west-bank of Luxor. "Nile Valley"Hotel & Restaurant. Just 2 minutes from the ferryboat. It has the most wonderfull view from the rooftop restaurant,specially at night. You can see the city of Luxor with the tempel. It has dutch/egyptian management.
