Nakamanda Resort & Spa

I chose this resort from TripAdvisor reviews, having been to Thailand 4 times before but never to Krabi I wanted my girlfriend to enjoy a bit of luxury and relaxation. The Nakamanda is high quality throughout, the rooms are superb, luxury fittings and amenities, we had sea views from both sides of our first floor villa and loved sitting out on the day bed each evening. New luxury boutique hotel on stunning Krabi coastline. We fled the Sheraton Krabi, and stayed in Nakamanda 2 weeks. The accomodation is great consisting of either a groundfloor or first floor in a very luxury bungalow, often with seaview. Stunning pool in contemporary Thai style. Overview The Nakamanda is located on Klong Muang Beach Krabi. This is a very quiet spot indeed. It is in close proximity to the Andaman and the Sheraton resorts (both within a 5 minute walk). It is the smallest and newest of the three resorts (it was first opened in 2004). The object of this mid year vacation was serious rest and relaxation and the relatively small size of the resort was a key attraction in that regard. This Place is excellent!!! We stayed here on our honeymoon for 7 nights in early May. This Place accomodates about 100 people. During our stay there were 6!!!!! We were treated like royalty the staff service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. The Hotel itself is very clean and a very peaceful paradise. The restaurant food was also excellent, as my wife is a vegetarian the chef made food to order with variations from the menu. Nice touch. We stayed at the Nakamanda resort for 5 nights, and it made a great ending to our holiday. After spending time in Hong Kong & Bangkok this place is very relaxing and peaceful. We spent most of the time in the resort, it is 25 mins drive from An Nang and 40mins from Krabi airport. Outside the gate there are 2 - 3 small shops and a couple of restaurants, with a couple more outside the Sheraton but if you want more than that this is not the place. this hotel is stunning very romantic and best for able bodied couples there are quite a few step's ,it is beautifully landscaped on different levels for seclusion.The pool was beautiful,fab when lit up at night restaurant looks out over the bay(the tied does go in and out quite a lot so it doesnt always look its best).The food was very good the breakfast was wonderful staff were lovely. would go again.Jjust one slight miss-hap they managed to mess up our 20th anniversary meal buy over booking hay-ho you cant have every thing.Spa was... more

I never stayed in such an excellent hotel before! Rooms and services are excellent, they really did more than you expected. Location is a bit far away (30 mins by taxi to Aonang Beach), it is a bit inconvenient to a Hongkonger like me. If you choose to dine at the hotel resturants, they make western cuisine better than thai one. Recommended for Honeymooners!

We (a couple) stayed at the Nakamanda for one week in March 2006. The resort is well-designed, with villas set among lush vegetation, giving you a fair amount of privacy. Even without the trees, etc., though, it would be a quiet because there are so few guests. The pool is beautiful, as is the view of the rocky islands from the poolside/restaurant area, with the exception of the small, not very impressive island that directly blocks much of the view. We stayed at the nakamanda if feb 06 and found the resort excellent. the hotel is located appox 20 mins from ao nang, you can get taxis outside the hotel for 400 bhts. the hotel itself is located right on the beach, you can have breakfast outside and watch the tide come in, very relaxing. the breakfast itself was again excellent al carte offering cooked and cold options. to dine in the hotel was about three times the cost of the local restaurants, but there are plenty of restaurants outside. one restaurant/beach bar... more

The most lovely and serene hotel in Thailand! The rooms are every bit as wonderful as the pictures show. Best food of our three week trip and the people were terrific. Special arrangements were made for our own private long-tail boat trips out to islands in bay for snorkeling and shell collecting. Great fish and invertebrates and spectacular scenery.
