loved the private beach
from brianpolo
We have just returned from Moonlight Bay resort. We booked for two nights but stayed for seven. We had a bungalow facing the riverside (swamp) and the view was wonderful if you enjoy nature. There are bungalows overlooking either riverside, forest, beach or seaview. The seaview is the most expensive and I felt that our view was just what we wanted. After all it is dark by 6pm and there is no seaview after this time. Also, the restaurant faces the sea as does the bar. It was so soothing to sit and watch the sun settle over a gin and tonic and...

Totally relaxation and a friendlt staff
from Lantalover
We are a family of 5, children 1,3,6 who stayd at Moonlight for 11 days incl.christmas eve! We just loved the place! We had a Seaview bungalow, wich was nice and clean, not fancy but all you needed. The view from our terrace was stunning! We feel that this place are a place to come for total relaxation! All though, what made our stay so good, were the STAFF! They were so helpful, and felt like friends for all of us! When they had time they played with our children, playing volleyball or 4 in a row...We would love to go back sometime soon...
Loved the hotel
from Kerry71
We stayed it this hotel for 6 nights over new year. When we arrived we had the river view rooms which were the cheapest, they were ok could do with tidying up a bit. The rooms were basic but clean & functional. The hotels best asset by far were the staff they were so friendly from the guys sweeping the paths to the restaurant & bar staff.Everyone would speak to you even their children would speak to you. Ken was great he was really nice & friendly and after the 1st night he remebered what all of our party of 6 were drinking and by the time we...

The Staff became our Friends and Family!
from LuluLuvly
40+ of us came from all over the globe, well nearly, for a Wedding at this most fabulous place! Many of us had been in touch by e-mail with Kai and we couldn't wait to meet in person! The Bride had arranged the accommodation for us and we just had to get ourselves there. Our party arrived after 11pm following a flight from Bangkok to Krabi and then transfer, arranged by Kai in a spectacular MPV complete with armchairs and huge DVD screen! As we were going to be too late for the restaurant the resort laid on complementary sandwiches in our...

Beautiful place to get away from it all
from MelSW18
After almost two weeks in some of the more lively Thai resorts (Krabi, Phi Phi etc), Lanta is a true gem. Quiet, chilled-out, natural and not covered in hawkers trying to drag you into shops. Moonlight Bay is perfect for a wind down. Pay the extra money for sea view rooms. Other options are 'Forest View' (aka see nothing but trees) and 'River View' (aka Mosquito-infested swamp view). We went with River, and I STILL loved it! The bar is awesome for sunsets and gin and tonics and the pool is superb, and seemingly always empty. Would def...

Romantic Getaway
from Renovator51
This resort is a perfectly beautiful, private, romantic little jungle oasis; though not suitable for those who want a long sandy beach. The beach is small , private with lots of colourful shells and large rocks, swimming at high tide only. No beach blanket bingo here, but great location for small weddings. The private cottages are thoughtfully designed with all of the amenities. We thought the food was a little expensive for the mediocre quality, but the occasional meal was good. The breakfast buffet was better than most but still not great....

Nice Place Great Bar
from yogisnow
Good place to stay with great service and good rooms. Food a little ordinary, go next door to eat at Thanya very good in deed. The bar on the rocks is great in the evening watching the sunset. Beach is just a couple of small rocky bays, good if you just want to relax and have a dip, other beaches are a good walk away. They do have a free drop to a better beach which is good. Pool is ok . New years eve party a bit camp like for our liking. Overall good experience and great rates booked online meant we had a good time here but would not go back.
Lovely Hotel
from Janet000
We originally booked to stay at this hotel for a night but have ended up staying 5 nights and will probably stay more. Hotel has a lovely feel to it, not crowded and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We were happy with our room, it was a river view one and for the price it was perfect, you pay the same at a not so nice hotel so I found it good value for money and would definately recommend it. The sea view ones would be the best but then you are paying three times as much. Hotel is within walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Lovely staff but little else
from Carol16
It feels bad to criticise this resort as the staff are it's biggest asset and we had a nice stay here thanks to them. But we wouldn't go back. It's rather tired - the rooms are basic and when we arrived our shower was blocked with months' worth of dead hair in the plug hole - not a good start! They put it right immediately but it's symptomatic of the slightly down at heel feel of the place. The sea view and beach view rooms are better than the river view rooms which looked out over a very smelly waterway. There's a small pool with a few...

Highly Recommended
from AlaninBrussels
We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. Its a really beautiful resort nestled on the hillside, over a very picturesque bridge - that you would not imagine there from the road (or reception). The staff were genuinely friendly, the rooms comfortable and the resort equipped with all you need. A real bonus is the bar on the far edge of the resort - probably the best place we found in our Thai holiday to have an evening drink. A great value, hassle-free resort - highly recommended!!!
