Miramare

We chose this hotel on the strength of the previous reviews, and the location. Don't expect a slick modern hotel. This place has character. We tumbled in off the street, expecting a reception desk - this is actually 6 flights of stairs up, but there is a lift. When you get to the hotel floors, the place smartens up significantly. Visit Cagliari for Holly week this year with GF. There where not many average price hotels available in the island. Miramare look the best from the options i had. Called the hotel and reserve directly, Hotel Manager and personel are very nice people. Hotel manager (Guiliano) is multilingual so that help very much to make the reservations, since my Italian is no good. Reserved a room with a view to Cagliari harbor. We stayed at the Miramare for 2 nights. We paid €79 per night for a double room including a wonderful breakfast in a sumptuous lounge overlooking the harbour. This is a truly funky little place. Way more character than the glam, but fast to date, boutique hotels we stay in in places like Budapest or London. Excellent service, great location. I should really write a bad review to help ensure that we can book it again!

Location: Right on the main throughfare Via Roma. Walked everywhere. We had the water view. The Room: Not the typical hotel chain room. I am not sure if the bed and dresser were antique but they looked old but functional. The room was spacious as we had a “suite”. The extra space was just really a big hall- way with two chairs and a table. We did not really use it. If it was a sofa, it would have been better. A great central location for the old town and the majority of restaurants.The small hotel is very stylish with many original features large rooms and period furniture.Comfortable beds and a never ending supply of soft good qualityy towels etc.There is free parking at the front of the hotel IF you can ever find a space.There is plenty of parking across the road by the port but you do have to pay.Breakfast is traditional Sardinian of sweet breads and cakes,coffee and juice.

We were in Cagliari for 4 days and could not have chosen a better place to stay. It is a welcome change from most sterile conveyor-belt hotels. The hotel is in the Marina district which is full of funky shops and great restaurants. The other areas of Cagliari are only a short walk away. The hotel is clean and elegant. Stylish third floor hotel. Stayed in a gorgeous suite with wonderful bathroom but beware of the (original) door locks! Staff were incredibly charming and helpful in every way, even distributing mirta (the local drink) on our return in the evenings. Candles light the way to the rooms at night. The breakfasts are a little idiosyncratic. The best restaurant was just around the corner (left and then left again out of the hotel) Buono Guisto (excuse spelling), packed with local people. Lovely experience.

Hi everyone. I didn't actually stay at this hotel. I tried to request room availability via e-mail, to which they eventually replied; I requested to book the available room, no response. Requested it through their website form- no response. Sent like a million e-mails- no response. I eventually booked elsewhere (Hotel T- wonderful, and the walk to the city not that far and very enjoyable, plus the taxis are so cheap). 5 of my family had a brilliant short stay in Cagliari. It was made exceptional because of the; locality of the hotel - central, clean and with brilliant views. The friendliness of the people ,both within local restaurants and within the hotel itself, (we never managed to sneak in at night -often past midnight, without being offered a local 'digestif' by the staff on duty, who were willing to chat and share their local knowledge). and of course the beautiful weather. Highly recommend the Hotel Miramare on the 3rd floor of an villa in the old town overlooking the marina. Very stylish: candles, incense, silent movies and mood music in the lounge in the evening. Also can't praise Restaurante di Fabio highly enough (corner of via Concezione and via Sardegno just off the via Roma on the marina) - excellent choice and food, and he cooked off menu for a difficult vegan.
