Simply the Pitz
Sooo bad the Streeties were laughing at me when i walked into the ahhmmm errrrrr what do you call a 2ft 10ft foyer, reception and internet space......oh yeah cramped.......and believe me it's like Charlie & the Chocalate factory meets the Emily house...it just gets smaller & weirder. New York though rocks so It couldnt ruin the buzz, even if we stayed in a cardboard box.....ahhhhh a box just imagine...blisss. (DONT DO IT)
Shockingly bad
We were able to load our luggages in the 3' x 2' elevator, but there was no room left for a person, so we had to send them alone and wait for them upstairs. The room stank of roach poison, which did not seem to bother a dozen of tiny roaches squirming in the bathroom sink. I had reserved a room for 3 adults. The room they gave us was 10' x 8' - I am not joking! There was a double bed and two superposed single beds. There was not much room left for anything else. We had to store the luggages one on top of another to be able to walk... more
What's all the fuss about?
I'd read the reviews but needed a hotel near Penn Station and many attractions. Wonderfully relieved when the family (all five of us) found a busy but welcoming receptionist and perfectly adequate rooms. We were 'phoned soon after arrival to check if we were happy. We were. The rooms are small by most standards but clean and well serviced. There's a very restricted view from some rooms but if I want a view I'd get out of any hotel. Free ice and a soft drinks machine. Fresh towels and enough tv chanels to keep me happy anyway.<br... more
Convenient! Clean & Friendly Staff
Maybe my standards are not as high as some of those who complained, but I found this hotel perfect for my trip in NY. The lobby is small, but they had more than what I needed. A luggage room, a soda machine, internet stations, and a really friendly staff. I found the rooms pretty small, but they are clean and I got housekeeping everyday I was there. They are 4 blocks away from Time Square, and I paid less than $125 a night. I enjoyed my stay there and would recommend this hotel to my friends from home.
Visitor beware!
This hotel was the biggest rip off I have ever been taken for. The room we stayed in was not clean. The maid never swept under the cot, and the bed we slept on wasn't even on a bed frame. The mattresses layed directly on the floor. The head board was bolted to the wall. By all means check out room 407. The elevator was broken 3 out of the 5 days we were there. The internet cafe was a card table with an old laptop on it. As far as sticky carpet goes as another person wrote, hey atleast you had carpet. If you have made reservations at this... more
Great place to sleep.
The hotel rooms were small and dark, but they were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful (even when we complained that our AC didn't work and they sent someone up to plug it in...hahhaha!!). It is very convienent to Times Square and a subway station. Also, there is a Gray's Papaya right around the corner. If you are going to be spending a lot of time in your room, I would not suggest this. It is not a luxury hotel. If you are just stopping in the room to sleep for a couple hours...this is the place! It's cheap and... more
Rooms are small but location is great!!
Having read the reviews before our trip, my friends and I were very worried before we arrived (especially of the giant roaches and other creepy crawlies). However, we didn't see any in both of the rooms that we stayed in. Although the rooms were tiny and the three of us had to take turns to open our big luggage, they were clean. The beds were made daily and we get clean towels everyday. The staff at the reception desk are also very friendly and helpful. And the really good thing about this hotel is it's location. It's perfect!! Just a few... more
Worked for me
I am a video producer and work with other people's money. This hotel, although it frightened me at first was perfect. I am going back again this summer. It is located near the best subways and busses in New York City. You can walk to Broadway in a flash. The room was spotless and everything worked just fine. I paid 800 dollars a night for a suite at another Hotel prior to going to this little place and it was well really terrific. When Im in NYC I am not interested in staying in my room anyway, why would anyone go to NYC and care about their... more
Not Hilton, but not bad for this price
It not bad for this price, of course not Hilton, but the sheets are clean, the towels are changed every day, the staff is polite, and the location is really wonterful
It was OK for the price!
Yes, the photos are misleading. I learned to look for the hotel enterance by the "Internet Cafe" sign. The location was great for sightseeing. Subway and train connections in any direction you walked from the hotel. Walking distance to many sights. The room was very small, there were no extras (like shampoo or coffee maker), and the air conditioner WAS loud; but the sheets and towels were clean every day. For $85 a day in Manhattan I didn't expect a luxury suite!
