We wanted to stay forever!!!
We didn't want to be stuck at the same hotel our whole trip if we weren't satisfied when we arrived so we only booked for our first 2 days. But when we got there they upgraded us to the loft suite. It was wonderful!! The beautifully landscaped walk ways, the friendly and helpful staff, the pool and private hotel bar with amazing strawberry margaritas. There wasn't one thing they could have done better here. We will go back every year. And actually we wanted to stay the rest of the trip and it turned out they did not have an open room so they... more
Lets clear something up...
The Lighthouse Court WAS a world class travel destination for gay men from the early 80's when it was opened, until it was sold to a mainstream hotel group in Key West in 2004. It is now a very pretty quiet place that keeps is wild history to itself. Most guest have no idea of the place's history and the wonderful gay parties as an "IT" location that attracted gay travelers from around the world (this was long before the cruiseship days). If your straight and you want to experience the gay resort STYLE of recent past decades -... more
Nice Lil Place
Nice lil place. Not perfect. Pool and dining area were being remodeled. Average place. good for people on a budget, its probably the cheapest place to stay.
On a budget and want to be near the action...
This is a great hotel near Duval street that has a nice staff, clean, comfortable beds, quite to sleep, and offers free cont. breakfast.
Another great experience at the Lighthouse Court
My husband and i found this hotel last year . We spent another 4 nights here in October and really enjoyed ourselves again. We recongnised a lot of the staff from our previous visit which was really nice and were welcomed with equal enthusiasm. We did notice some changes from the last time we were there. A free breakfast is now available to guests of the hotel and the pool has been completely remodeled and is heated to 80+ degrees in the cooler months. Clean rooms, excellent location and friendly accomodating staff,... more
Drug Deal and condoms
We stayed at Lighthouse Court along with several other family members who were in Key West for a wedding. When we made our reservation there was a misunderstanding about whether they had any 2 bdrm units. Apparently their staff is not aware of what they have and allowed us to book a second room we did not need to accomodate our family. When we got there to check-in the gentleman was rude to us but allowed us to cancel the 2nd reservation. The remainder of the desk staff we encountered was nice but could never get the internet working. Our... more
Love it, Love it, Love it
My wife and I stayed at the Lighthouse Court recently and loved it. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I love the pool area with the lounge beds. Great ambiance with reggae music in the background. Our other option was to go to the caribbean, but we felt like we lucked out chosing Key West and staying at the Lighthouse Court. We did hear roosters in the morning. But i think from what we saw, there were chickens all over the island. We flew into Key West, so we didnt have to deal with parking. Again we enoyed our stay... more
Convenient at a cost
The hotel is in an excellent location, but there is a trade off here. The rooms are small with tiny bathrooms. There are chickens and roosters that awaken you all night. I though that they only crowed at sunrise, but here in Key West they crow all night long. The staff is horribly rude, especially the manager. They decided to replace the air conditioner in our room during our stay. Since the new one was larger than the old , they had to cut a larger openning in the wall. Thus, all of our belongings were covered with the white drywall dust.... more
Good Location - not great service
We stayed at the Lighthouse Court for NYE and a few days afterwards. Due to the time of year we paid at least twice what it usually goes for a night, which was to be expected, but for the money we also expected a bit of service. When we arrived in a hire car, there is no parking provided. We were on a 5 week trip to America from Australia and as such had a lot of baggage. We had to do laps of the neighbourhood looking for a park (some dodgy areas nearby) then drag all our bags 4 blocks back to the hotel......Upon check in there was no... more
Quaint, clean and away from all the noise
Lighthouse Court was a quaint, clean and a charming getaway. We were told before we booked that the pool was under construction, and because of this got a reduced rate. The rooms were small, very similiar to an english bed and breakfast, but fresh and clean. The walk into town was about 10 minutes and made a pleasant return stroll at the end of the evening. I would easily stay here again and to top it off the coffee and moderate breakfast gave a great start to the day.
