La Te Da Hotel

I recently had the pleasure of staying a La Te Da Guesthouse in Key West. Upon check-in I was upgraded to a Penthouse Room that was quite spacious. The Frotn Desk clerk while proficient, did not seem to really enjoy his job and was not very communicative. Upon showing me to my room, he did not offer to highlight where light switches were located or that my room rate included breakfast. The hotel is very nice. The setting is lovely. I had to write this review to mention how terrible the breakfast is. The french toast was dry and almost impossible to chew. Nothing was fresh. We tried the stuffed french toast also. It was no better. Just heavy, soggy and gross. The potatoes could not be eaten. Actually, the bacon wasn't bad. Seriously, stay here, just do not eat here.

My husband and I stayed at the La Te Da over Christmas. We arrived late in the middle of a Christmas Eve party, the desk was closed but, the Bartender was expecting us and greeted us by name. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Everyone had a smile. The room we stayed in was fabulous as was the "tub for two". The Christmas decorations were beautiful and the tree was one of the most beautiful that I have seen. We had a great time the only thing that would have made it better would have been having more time. We will definately stay... more

First, let me say that my husband and I booked a weekend at the La Te Da last year but were unable to go because of the hurricanes. They graciously offered to hold our deposit for a year, which was kind, but I promptly forgot about it! A week ago, we decided to try and get a room for the annual Poker Run (which sells out almost all of Key West very quickly), and to our delight, the La Te Da had held our reservation for a whole year! We stayed just one night but wish we had more time. The hotel was great and very accommodating. The restaurant and bars on site were excellent and the pool was refreshing. The location was close to many shops, galleries and restaurants and NOT near all the noisy bars. We could have walked many places but saved time and sore feet by renting bikes, which we parked easily at any corner in town. My wife and I spent 4 nights at the La Te Da Hotel and had a great time. They are located right on Duval street, but they are far enough away from the busy and noisy side of the island that getting to sleep is not a problem. Breakfast was included with the room, and not just coffee and a danish. An actual breakfast with coffee/juice, toast and your choice of: pancakes, eggs, french toast, etc. The staff was friendly, the food in the restaurant was good, and the show in the nightclub was a lot of fun. I would definetly stay here again.

My wife and I have been to Key West several times, staying at a different place each time. But after staying at La Te Da, we will never stay at any other hotel. La Te Da is an amazing hotel , with an excellent staff that truly envoke the spirit of Key West!! There is not a better time to be had...from great dining to entertainment, it has it all. My girlfriend and another couple stayed at the La Te Da in early august. We loved everything about the hotel. The staff was great, food was great and the location is great. We went to one of the Drag Shows at the hotel which was a riot. We had a free breakfast included in our stay every morning. Not just a continental breakfast, but a full eggs, bacon, french toast pancakes, etc. The other couple that came with us had problems with the air conditioning in their room, and the hotel staff immediately switched their room with no questions... more

The only negative thing I will say about the La Te Da is that the bathrooms, although clean and spacious, are a bit run down. Other than that my "luxury" room was perfect. The decor was nice, the french doors overlooking the pool were perfect, the maid service was great...I can't say enough about how happy I was when I arrived, everything did look like the photos on the website. The pool stays open 24 hours a day and my favorite thing to do was come back from a night of dancing and dive right in. Also it was so nice to be able to count on... more

Great hotel, the staff was very helpful and the rooms were great. Our first two nights we stay in a deluxe room that had French doors that opened up to the pool. The room was plenty big with an enormous king sized bed. Very well decorated. Since we decided to stay an extra night they upgraded us to a luxury room, highly recommended for the money. The luxury room was huge, same bed but with a big whirlpool bath tub. The comp. breakfast was good, ordered not buffet. But the menu looked really good and almost made you pass up the free stuff.... more
