Krabi Tropical Beach Resort

We found this small, secluded hotel last-minute booking only 3 days online with the intention of heading somewhere more exotic after that, but after the first day we extended our stay for the rest of our holiday and were so pleased that we did, especially after visiting Ao Nang itself - it was great to be able to get there by taxi or using the regular local 'bus' services to get on a boat or take a trip, but not have to deal with the crowds if you chose not to. We just returned from Thailand where we spent 5 nights at KT Beach Resort. We have only good things to say about this resort. We booked very last minute (the day before we left for Thailand) and it was difficult to find a place near Ao Nang. Luckily we were able to find KT Beach! We have just returned from 4 days 3 nights at the Krabi Tropical Beach Resort. The resort is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. We stayed on the Family Suite Room for 4 persons.The room was spacious and clean.It was very welcoming the moment we enter the room. Mr Pat (Manager) was very hospitality. They have a dog name Donna, was also very hospitality, he will wagged his tail when you enter the resort to welcome the guests. This place was such a disappointment that we left after a few days and moved to another hotel. They are currently renovating and the place is a noisy mess (one day they worked from 6.30am to 9.20pm). Traffic noise can be an issue although tends to calm down later in the evening. There is a big loudspeaker right outside the hotel where the local mosque broadcasts prayers at regular intervals, which is fine, but not at 4am. It's VERY loud! My boyfriend and I just got back from this hotel, and it was a most excellent stay. It's a great smallish hotel about 5mins from Ao Nang (where the main markets/restaurants/massage places are), which is actually cool cos it made going into town actually going into town. It was also within walking distance to the pier where boats were going to Railay, a very nice island for rock climbing, or island pubbing at night. I was a bit disappointed with this resort to be honest. It is much further out of the resort area of Ao Nang than I had expected, although the friendly staff do run a free shuttle into the night. Also, despite having requested a twin room, deluxe sea view we ended up in a twin room (that we had to fight for) and it wasn't a sea view. It was pleasant enough though, so I would recommend people to go if they're looking for fairly standard accommodation in a more removed location.
