Jumby Bay, A Rosewood Resort

Jumby Bay was truly paradise on earth. MY wife and I recently returned from our honeymoon--we spent 8 days/7 nights in an oceanview courtyard suite with an indoor/outdoor shower. The room was amazing and the twice daily room service kept everything in order--including the stocked mini-bar. Here is the truth about Jumby Bay. If you have a complaint about Jumby Bay then you will never be happy anywhere. There is nothing to complain about, no downside, nothing. It is a first class top of the line resort and nothing in the area comes close. A bit pricey but DEFINATELY well worth it. I just got back from my honeymoon and my wife & I will definitely return. If you want to receive poor service, listening to noise from planes and building works on the island for money you paying - go to Jumby Bay. Some people who rated this resort as excellent probably haven't seen anything better!!!! We had to wait 1 hour and 40 minutes for the main course and I am not saying about waiting for a water or vine for 20-30 minutes !! This resort has all of the places in the Caribbean beat hands down. Just remember its the Caribbean and accept the tiny flaws inherent to this area of the world. Jumby Bay has the least of any of them. Its fabulous and difinitely worth returning over and over.

Recently stayed at Jumby Bay for 5 nights with my husband. I can't say enough great things about it. The service was impeccable, the food was great, and the rooms....ooh la la. Just returned from a week of pure bliss at Jumby Bay. Rosewood Corp has got this one right. The rooms were very nice, with all of the emenities found in a Rosewood hotel. The rondivals were the size of a nice hotel room with an extra large bathroom an outside shower- plenty of room for my wife and I. We moved mid week to a courtyard suite and found it almost too big. Again - like I said it depends on your expectations. We have traveled to many islands and have a certain expectation of rooms, services and food. I certainly agree it can be frustrating reading these reviews. We were checking the reviews constantly prior to our 2 week honeymoon. The reviews from May2003 and Nov are the most accurate.Just back from 12 day stay this is a resort charging 5 star prices and offering 2 star service.Main criticism was excessively long waits (1hr plus) for food,waiters mixing up orders or forgetting them entirely.Concierges who had poor attitudes and managed to get things wrong every time you used them.No one answering phones erratic and spotty service in villas and seemingly no one in authority to complain to.I could fill two sides of A4 with a list of complaints-probably the worst "hotel"... more

I have just returned from 10 days in Jumby Bay and have many pro's and cons. Although Rosewood manages this hotel, they do not have any say on much of the upkeep of the "villas" as they are privately owned. It went well beyond the excuse of "This is the Caribbean." Therefore, some are sadly lacking and need a definite retrofit, as ours did. Again though, Jumby Bay management cannot make the villa owners perforem well needed upkeep.
