Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki

The Hyatt Regency is among the best resort hotels I have stayed at. The front desk & hotel staff are exceptionally helpful and really go out of the way (Call it the Hyatt Touch?) The hotel has all facilities - pools x 2; fantastic gymnasium and squash facility; convention rooms; bars, restaurants its brilliant! Location: only a 5 minute (4Euro) cab ride into the city centre. Free shuttle service to the Regency Casino. I booked on hyatt.com and got a great deal of Euro 104 which in my opinion was as good as free!

The building is really nice and the pool excellent.Beyond that few things are ok.Service was ok but nothing special to remember .The worst part is the location.It's ok only if someone wants to be next to the airport.Otherwise there is nothing around and we had to go downtown every time we wanted to have a drink or dinner outside the hotel. By the way we had lovely time in the Garson (restaurant ,brasserie) down town and we enjoyed our drinkgs in Kitchen bar (in the port area). Great place to be. The rooms themselves are great, spacious with excellent modern bathroom, the only modern styled hotel in Greece. The only fault is the veranda with the café and the restaurant is next to the pool but you do not have a view of the pool. The rooms, even the ones on the ground floor, do not have access to the pool. Service is excellent and very friendly. Breakfast is great with plenty items to choose from. With two words, it is simply the greatest place not only in Greece but in the whole Meditarennean. Briliant rooms in a real oasis, 10km away from a city of 1 million people, with the best breakfast that I have tried in a hotel. Especially if you will get the special summer rates it is a rael burgain.

I stayed at the Hyatt for 4 days at the beginning of July 2005. From the very moment I arrived at the Hyatt I was extremely impressed at not only the fabulously designed interior but also by the warm welcome I received from the the Hyatt staff. They were extremely accommodating and allowed me to have both an early check-in and late check-out at no extra charge. Although near the airport some 10km away from the centre of town the Hyatt Regency is excellent. We stayed in a ground floor junior suite , which was extremely spacious and with every expected luxury. The bathrooms are sizeable, plush and well equipped. Ground floor suites open out to pleasant verandas with comfortable furniture. The swimming pool is enormous, childrens pool also and sunbeds are plentiful and comfortable. The sevice is immaculate. This has to be one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen. The rooms were great, the lobby was great, the bar and restaurants were great and I especially liked the huge buffet breakfast! There is a free shuttle to the center and to the casino which is a nice added bonus, and the staff was very professional. I will definately be staying there again!

My mother and I spent a week at the Hyatt in March. The Hyatt is a lovely resort with a wonderful restauarant. The shuttle service to and drom the City of Thessaloniki was prompt. The drivers were very kind and courteous. All of the amenities were more than satisfactory. I was quite pleased to have free access to the internet so I could send e-mails to home in the US which cut down on international calling costs.

Spent a rainy weekend at the Hyatt and it was perfect. However, it is out by the airport, far from the city and it's a hike to get anywhere. I would not want to spend more than a few days here if the weather was sunny but if you have to be stuck somewhere in lousy weather, this is the place. Great fitness club, massage, suana, indoor poor. The hotel is a true 5 star, the rooms are large with balconies and wonderful bathrooms.
