Mar 2005, Mr P Baxter

Spent a fabulous holiday at the Iberostar Ledra Beach, Paphos. Though the hotel is owned by the Louis group it is managed & run by Iberostar. This is possible the best all-inclusive package that I have experienced.
A fabulous menu and drinks served in real glasses. Great selection of food, breakfast was enough to feed you up for the whole day......and the cakes....well!!!!!!
The rooms were a pleasing size but the bathrooms, although very clean, were significantly smaller than I would have expected in a hotel of this standard.
Entertainment was a little lacking although I suspect this was mainly down tot he time of year. Daily sports were arranged (archery, darts & archery) and evenign cabaret (although one cabaret erupted into an argument between the entertainment manager and a member of bar staff).
The staff, with a few notable exceptions, were a little surly. Praise to Anisia in the restaurant who made a friend for life out of our one year old son.
Will definitely be returning.

Aug 2004, Mr R Edwards

First time in Cyprus, stayed in quite a few All inclusive resorts around the world and have to say this is by far the best ever!
Stayed with my family (2 Adults & 2 Children) from day one was made to feel at home, the staff were very friendly and went out there way to insure you had a great time.
Food was brill and the house band should be on top of the pops!
My only complaint is that I have put on weight and am still on a diet!
I will return!

Aug 2004, Mrs E Richards

This use to be a great hotel until it went all inclusive and since then the standards have sadly slipped.
All waiter service has been withdrawn and the food is similar to school dinners. Lunch round the swimming pool consisted of any type of chicken nugget or beef burger with chips and salad. Despite my anxiety about the food it was quite fascinating to watch people quite literally fill their pockets with food - clearly they thought it was excellent! The evening meals were no better and despite paying for all inclusive we regularly ate out.
Getting served in the evening at the bar was a joke often waiting up to forty five minutes for a waiter. Clearly the hotel is being kept deliberately understaffed as a way of saving money.
hordes and hordes of children and badly behaved teenagers, Some of the popular games were throw fish fingers in the pool and see if you could bring them whole before they disintegrated, cover yourself in the free all inclusive ice cream and jump in the pool, run round the corridors day and night knocking on the doors, scream and shout all round the hotel grounds and get drunk with parents permission. Let’s not forget throwing the sun beds in the pool.
Sleep was at a premium during this holiday and is a great place for people who do not want to rest!
The grounds are supposed to have been improved with the beach bar now fully open and an open air theatre. Sounds nice but the reality is that the pool bar, beach bar, and in the afternoon the theatre, all pump out music and it is impossible to find a quiet place. Just as you think it may be quiet along comes the aquaerobics with a full size disco speaker playing modern music for at least half hour before aqua and at least the same length of time after.
There were not enough sun beds and most of them were taken as early as 5am!!! As we left the good quality umbrellas and sun beds were being replaced with cheap rubbish. No side arms on the new sun beds and they were of the kind where one end or the other shot up when you stood up.
The hotel itself needs refurbishing but on the plus side our room was clean and the maid was excellent but I would advise that you take your own pillows as now there are very uncomfortable bolsters (clearly another economy). Also be prepared to leave a deposit for your beach towel!
This was our fourth visit to this hotel and its decline in one season is truly spectacular. This is not a place for a family who like a quiet holiday. I have never been all inclusive before and will never go again. The way some of the people behaved was outrageous. Drunk and throwing up 24/7 and very rude to staff whom, by the way, despite their overwork are very kind and polite.
Clearly Iberostar have a policy of ‘pack em in’ and ‘stack em up’ for as little overheads as possible. I will never be returning to this hotel which is very sad.

Jul 2004, Ms L Clark

I booked this hotel before it became totally all-inclusive. Well what a disappointment it was. The hotel was full and there were hordes of children (not that I dislike children). But there was no place to relax as kids were kept up to all hours became tired - got a smack - cried - as parents wanted to get money’s worth from all inclusive.
Our room was on the ground floor and looked out onto a brick wall.
The hall carpets were patched and stained. The room was one of the smallest and ill equipped I have stayed in for a long time. We go the Far East a lot and there this would have struggled to be a 2 star.
There were not enough sunbeds or shades.
The food was served in a Woolworth’s canteen style and was very bland and repetitious. All inclusive spirits often bore no resemblance to what was ordered.
The hotel employs a lot of girls from Eastern Europe - polish etc and they were great - very friendly.
I would say that this hotel needs to look at its facilities and make at least one area adults only and also needs to expand its dining facilities to avoid it being a cattle market. Plates were whipped away as soon as the last mouthful went in, as tables were in short supply. It was impossible to get a table for 2 as tables were pushed together to get more people in. The only good meal - and it was excellent - was the gala dinner. Limited to once a week and when we tried to book it we were told all booked for the rest of the week - we had to insist they accommodated us.
We will not be back

Jul 2004, Miss J Evans

We have had at least 15 all-inclusive holidays in 4 star hotels, and the standard of this was by far the worst. We stayed a week and ate out three times and did not spend an evening in the hotel, despite being all inclusive.
Although there was nothing major wrong, the hotel did not have anything going for it. The meals were of a reasonable standard, but very school dinner-ish with little variety or choice. The bars were waiter service only and it was not unusual to sit for 10 minutes with an empty glass and wait another 10 for the drink to arrive. For drinks in the daytime, you could help yourself to soft drinks, assuming that there were any cups left, or go to the pool bars for others.
The so-called entertainment was pathetic. The staff obviously were used to going through the motions to no audience. As for the bars, I have been in livelier doctor’s waiting rooms. The surroundings were pleasant enough, but there was no atmosphere at all, little lively conversation, no background music or any sign of life.
Having said this, there was nothing so vital that was not up to standard that it spoiled our stay in any way. The brochure makes the hotel out to be something special, but it is just a very ordinary small hotel.

Booked on Tuesday and went the following Saturday. I’ve been to Cyprus twice before both times staying at 5 star hotels and what a surprise! While the rooms/bathrooms were nothing outstanding, they were very comfortable and clean, the friendly service and really very high standard of food was a revelation. Enough to put far more expensive hotels to shame. Good location, nice pool and beach. Average age of the guests while we were there was mid fifties + so not necessarily suitable for young things expecting to rock the night away. If you’re looking for a good hotel with good food and service, at a reasonable price I think you’ll be hard pushed to better this one.

Spur of the moment holiday break - Booked through Med Hotels - everything went very smoothly, thanks to the Med Hotel Rep (Dick). Hotel was faultless - staff were great, service was great, food great. Lovely location right on beach. Bus stop right outside to go into Paphos and plenty of taxis. Lovely little bar across the road. Only criticism would be that it would have been nice to have had a bit more traditional Greek food and that the entertainment was a bit too over-powering and noisy during the day when you were trying to relax. Overall, a great location for a quiet break. I'd certainly go back to this hotel and resort.
