Hotel Oslo

this place was really nice! we stayed here for one night and we got a great rate when we contacted the hotel directly! The receptionist was really helpful and made some really good suggestions! He studied in Coimbra so he knew his stuff! THe room was clean and very comfy! the breakfast about average!

In an old and ugly bulding, this hotel was nicely renewed. Spacious and clean rooms in a good place do start the exploring of Coimbra.

Hotel Oslo is nothing to write home about. The room and hotel is clean, in the centre of town and around the corner from the main train station Coimbra A (noting that all regional and intercity trains arrive at Coimbra B, so you will need to switch to a suburban train (included in the regional/intercity ticket price), however the hotel seems to be from an era gone by. The heating/air conditioning unit in the room looks like it’s about 40 years old as an example. Thankfully the lift looks like it has been refurbished to a modern one.<br... more

We spent a weekend at the Oslo and the experience was good: The rooms were reasonably big, breakfast was good, the staff were very friendly and parking was included in the price. The location is really good, close to the station and easy to reach by car, and as I pointed out they have free underground parking. If you get a good deal go for it, although the hotel is not particularly exciting there is absolutely nothing wrong or bad about it.

i wish I would have gotten his name, but the clerk at the Hotel Oslo deserves a raise. He was eager to please, and even more eager to practice his English and give excellent advice about his city. The rooms are modern and clean, albeit small, and we had to have someone come up and fix the air conditioning. But the location is very central, just off the river and an easy walk into the heart of the city's shopping and restaurant core. But this particular neighborhood rolls up the sidewalks after dark and seems a little shady for walking... more

Reminds me of the typical european efficiency hotels, except there is a nice roof top terrace and bar. Rooms and bathrooms are fine and straight forward.

I've returned two weeks ago from Portugal where, because of a friend's advice, I spent 14 days in a lovely city called Coimbra. We (me and my girlfriend) went there to discover the so called "Beiras" a Portuguese region which the rush hours and fast-food still didn't touch. Driven by the paixon for food and nature we just wanted to discover the countryside... But, at the time that we arrived at Coimbra, and after the first day there, we couldn't go anywhere else... I stayed on this hotel from 28 Dezember to 02 January 2007. When i arrived at the hotel the reception as nice and very clean. The personal on desk realy professional.I stayed at the 4rd floor very nice room. Look's like they renoved all the hotel, the room are news very clean and functional, this room had a look under the old city beauttifull special at night!!!!!! The panoramic bar give us a good view of old city " Coimbra". Next May they have the party of the students and i just now where to stay in coimbra "HOTEL OSLO".<br... more

I stayed on this hotel from 22 to 23 May 2004. When you look at the hotel from the outside you wish to run away (old building taken from a terror movie) but to be honest the room I stayed, though small, was clean and functional. The panoramic bar give us a good view of Coimbra. I'm sure there are better options in the city but if you are a low budget traveller this is a valid option. DIOGO COSTA - Lisbon, Portugal

Nice hotel, pleasant staff BUT AVOID ROOM 501, This is next to the Panoramic Bar, which can stay open until you complain 3AM!! and the bed is back to back with the next rooms toilet and bathroom. Unpleasent awakening if the need the loo first!
