Exceptional decor and style
Most hotels in this price range (doubles from 115-155 Euros) are lacking in style -- but this 36-room hotel charms you from your first steps into the lobby. Off to the right are comfy groupings of sofas and chairs -- an area that doubles as a bar. The walls are upholstered in a handsome toile fabric that runs throughout the reception area, hallways and stairwells. It makes for a most satisfyingly quiet experience. A brass chandelier with red fabric shades hangs above the entry, where the reception desk is found off to the left. The stone... more
Loved the Hotel du Pantheon
Just returned from 3 nights at the Hotel du Pantheon. Location was excellent with a nice surrounding neighborhood with cafes and bars. Rooms were cute, comfortable, quiet and clean. The staff was very helpful. Would highly recommend this to anyone's next stay!
I guess the safe is there for a reason
This is a lovely, comfortable hotel in a great location, and I would probably be giving it a 5-star rating if it weren't for a distressing experience. To make a long story short, a very expensive tie that I had bought as a birthday present for my father disappeared from his room without a trace. The tie was still in its pouch and was therefore obviously new. There is a possibility that the housekeeping staff threw it out innocently, believing the pouch to be trash, and of course there's another possibility as well. Management made a... more
Great Location and Price
Our 5 days at the du Pantheon in early November met high expectations. The double room #51 with a Pantheon view was a good size, nicely decorated, well maintained, and a bargain at a rate of 111euros. There were plenty of dining and nightlife options close by in the Latin Quarter. The La Fontaine restaurant at the Rue Mouffetard and Pot des Fer is recommended. The reception staff were very friendly, helpful with reservations and surprised us with a fruit basket after learning we were on an anniversary trip. The breakfast room served an... more
I wanted a hotel not a gym
The Pantheon Hotel is charming and romantic. The rooms are small but charming with the beams on the ceiling. The room overlooked the famous Pantheon. But the lift was out of order for two days and that spoiled the ambiance as we had to trek up 5 flights carrying luggage and then packages later. It was a great workout but I wanted a hotel not a gym. The toilet was not clean. This is a wonderful hotel in a very quiet location. The hotel owners really need to invest the money into fixing the lift. .
quiet, clean, convenient
Just returned from a 7 night stay and found the hotel to be a pleasant oasis in the Latin Quarter. Our room was clean and comfortable with crisp bed linens and adequate closet space. Quick access to the Metro and RER made commuting around the city and back to the airport a snap. We found the staff to be pleasant and enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Several great cafes, creperies and other restaurants are in the immediate area. We would walk the few blocks into the Luxumbourg Gardens, down St. Michel to the restaurant zone near Notre... more
We would stay there again
We spent nine wonderful days in paris and could not have been more pleased with these splendid accomodations. The entire hotel is sparkling clean with a pleasant staff and beautiful decor. The detail that has been put into this three-star hotel is remarkable and when we return to Paris we stay here again. Quiet location very close to metro and Notre Dame. Restaurants and shopping everywhere. Staff very helpful in everyway. If you are worried about this hotel, don't be. It is a find!
CHARMING BUT INCONVENIENT
We stayed at this hotel for four nights in late October. The decor was very charming - nice little lobby area, cozy room with lovely wallpaper. The heating system was being overhauled so a portable electric heater was provided in our room. The weather was nice and so we did not need to use it. But there are a few things to beware of: 1. The Hotel is quite a hike from a Metro stop (10 minutes in one direction and 15 in another) 2. The immediate area outside by the Pantheon is rather quiet and does not feel like a neighborhood.... more
Great Paris Hotel!
We stayed at the Hotel du Pantheon for a week at the end of September 2004. This was our first trip to Paris so we were expecting a very small, dull room. We were happily surprised! We had a double room that was decorated in a cute, french country style. Room was actually a decent size and so was the bathroom. We only had 2 complaints--our room didn't have a formal dresser so we had to use the nighstands to store clothes. More an issue for us because we stayed at the hotel a week and wanted to unpack. Like most european showers no shower... more
We would stay there again
We paid 185 Euros/night for our five-night stay here in September 2004. We stayed in room 40, a "superior" double which was the room right next to the lift. I was pleasantly suprised by how well insulated the room was from sound - we never heard the lift running and when the window was shut we never heard street noise. It appeared that the 1 and 2 rooms (i.e., 41 and 42) were also doubles and appeared to be a little larger and more superior. The hotel was conveniently located close to bus lines and a Metro station, restaurants, a... more
