Hotel ai do Mori

What a fantastic location (1 minute walk to St Marks Square) to experience all that Venice has to offer. The Annex is the place to be; small rooms, but very private, quiet and well appointed. The bathroom was also extremely clean and modern. Not having to go to the hotel reception everytime we went in and out, meant it felt more like an apartment than a hotel. My wife and I stayed a few nights at Hotal Ai do Mori in late December 2004. We are no-frills travelers, so the price and the amenities this hotel offered were right up our alley. However, I wasn't expecting such a high-quality room. We got one of the rooms on the top floor, which I would recommend as they have vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and a glorious view of the basilica. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hotel ai do Mori. It was like having our own little flat right off St. Mark's square. Our room was in the "annex" which is about 50 feet from the main hotel. The room featured beautiful wood floors and exposed beams on the ceiling. It was clean and comfortable. You could spend much much more in Venice for less. I would highly recommend the Hotel to anyone visiting Venice.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel ai do Mori in Venice. The location is fabulous, just a few steps from St. Mark's Square, the gondola staging area, and water buses. We could look our our window and see the top of St. Mark's Basilica. It was right on a wonderful pedestrian shopping street. The hotel staff was terrific. Everyone spoke English and gave great recommendations for cafes and sightseeing. Stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon in October 04. For the most part we stayed at 4 star places everywhere we went, but in a couple of towns (Venice, Rome) we decided to do it on the cheap, with mixed results. Hotel Ai Do Mori, the good: LOCATION - excellent, right behind piazza san marco. Easy to get to, and close to all the action. I am a travel agent who loves to travel on a budget. This hotel was decently priced with the best location in town. I was about 1 street up from San Marco Square. Great things about it.....Location, friendly staff, very clean, towell warmer in the bathroom, did I say great location????.Not so great things.....It was quit loud since it is close to tourist stuff but fine if you have earplugs. It is cramped but what else would you expect in Venice? Otherwise, loved this place! Would stay there again but has a lot of narrow stairs in case people... more

Stayed here for 1 night in August 2003. You need to be reasonably fit to cope with the stairs, but rooms are very clean and private bath/shower room spotless. Children were amused to watch Johnny Bravo with Italian dubbing ! Staff very pleasant and spoke English (yet another place where my lack of Italian caused me some shame, but no communication difficulty) Views from window over tiled roofs of Venice. Great location, friendly helpfull staff. Our room was quiet large for European standards, very cosy and gezellig. Very good price for Venice as well. Couldnt ask for more. As for the steep stairs, just think of the wonderful exercise your getting.

We stayed in rooms 4 and 5 with our family in July. This was ideal as it was a double and a triple with a private corridor and one bathroom with a bathtub. The hotel was clean. The service was great. They gave us some great restaurant recommendations. The hotel is located only about a block from the Doge's Palace and St. Mark's. The hotel is located on the third floor and there is no elevator. We had only a view of the street below from our room. For a family it was a great choice. We would stay here again.

One block from St. Mark's square. Quick walk to many points of interest. Close to Bridge of Sighs, Ducal Place, Canels, shopping etc. Very small rooms you can hardly even turn around in without bumping your head on the TV hung from the ceiling because there is no other space for it. Shared bathrooms (not even on our same floor). You have your choice of a noisy room facing the alley or noisy room next the the shared bathroom. We selected on price and location and that is what we got. This is an expensive town. Front desk staff was nice... more
