5 Star Accomodations but 1 Star Customer Service!
I stayed at the Hacienda Encantada from June 14- June 21. Like other posters have posted, the resort is absolutely beautiful. I will try and not make this too long, but will try and cover as much as I can remember. This opinion is based on two females ages 32 and 42. Reservations/Registration/Check-In. Our reservations for the HE was made through an Interval Exchange. I own a timeshare at a different resort and did the exchange a year in advance. I did not have any problems whatsoever with the exchange and had received a call... more
Wonderful Oasis in Cabo
We travelled to the HE May 24 - May 31st and had an amazing stay ! The reviews truly are correct - this is an amazing 5 star+ immaculate resort just a little north of Cabo (which was a definite plus for us), with one of the most amazing views.(we had a 4th floor room 4160 - well known to be the best floor b/c of the views. i'll post some pictures as well) We were timeshare owners, not at the HE, and traded with II with no problem at all....despite what a couple previous reviewers wrote. However, b/c of what they wrote, I called... more
Everyone else pretty much right!
I read all the reviews and I have to agree that Hacienda Encantada is a beautiful place with an incredible view. Yes, it is not finished and lacks a spa and work out room (please, when has this ruined a vacation). And, the shuttle controvery is the only "black mark" on this wonderful resort. The shuttle is not 'free" to non-owners and it really should be. The five dollar charge can add up if you have a family and wish to try the many wonderful restaurants (Marias on the property is good, not great) downtown. As far as being... more
Terrific experience - a few useful tips, VERY long review
We just returned from a week at the Hacienda Encantada, and it was a terrific experience. This was our first time to Baja California, and we had a great time. Quick summary: this resort is 5-star all the way. All of the furnishings were stone, tile, and hardwood. The walls have concrete cores, and we didn't hear a peep from our neighbors. The ceiling was ~15-20 feet high. Even the studios have whirlpool tubs, although the water is a little yellowish, owing apparently to sandy sediments in the source. Free wireless internet, but I think... more
very nice time and an amazing balcony
Overall experience was very nice. The property has only one section complete, so the number of people there was light. Facilities are very nice, but many are none existent at the present time. There is no work out room or spa (even though they provide a shuttle to a sister facility that has these -$10 round trip a piece though). We took the shuttle a few times, as the sister facility is at the marina in town, allowing us to walk Cabo San Lucas and it was cheaper than a taxi. The pool at Encantada is nice, but either was too much in... more
This will be the resort of my DREAMs!
The resort is GORGEOUS! Service Superb! Check in went smoothly since we called daily to confirm our reservations after reading about the problems in the past. We had the 2 bedroom suite on the 4th floor. It was one of the NICEST rooms that I have ever stayed in! The room was VERY clean and well decorated! The kitchen was beautiful (no oven. dishwasher or laundry). They did have a mini-bar if needed. One thing that was disappointing was that the hotel's water was not drinkable. We rented a car. I think this is a MUST... more
Beautiful! BUT-Interval traders beware
We traded thru Interval for this vacation. I will start of by saying THANK YOU to the wonderful family from California who reached out with a helping hand to two perfect strangers to help us in such a desperate situation upon check-in. Bill, Barb, and Britney- you will never be forgotten! So far all the other reviews for this resort have been right on the money..so I'll try not be repetitive. The resort has some of the nicest views I've ever seen. Eventually when the resort is 100% complete there will be a few rooms with only a scenic view-... more
What a view!!!!!
Just returned from a week in Cabo San Lucas at the Hacienda Encantada.--Not yet a resort and Spa as it is not yet close to completion but you are totally unaware of the construction going on around you unless you look for it. We stayed in a junior suite with kitchen facilites and all the small applances you could need. The rooms were very well appointed and we had a large deck from which to sit and enjoy the view. The infinity pools overlook the Water where you can watch the whales, dolphins and Rays play as we did one morning at... more
We Loved It!
We stayed the last week of October 2007. We knew before arriving there was still a lot of construction going on. However, Hacienda Encantada far exceeded our expectations. Unless you really look over the edge from the lobby or the restaurant you really don't notice the building of Phase II going on around you. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and huge. 2100 sq ft two bedroom suites with 3 full baths, full kitchen, and 2 verandas overlooking the Sea of Cortez where you can watch the gorgeous sunsets. There are five connecting infinity... more
What a start
The view and the sound of waves crashing from your room is great. There is still a lot of construction going on, but that was expected. There were only about 15 other people staying at the resort while we were there, so it was a little wierd being empty. Favorite spot was the pool. We watched ships go by. I bet it will be great in spring to watch grey whales. Dirt road still gets you to the hotel. Service was great. Shuttle to Marina Fiesta ran every 2 hours. Golf at the Desert course was also great.
