I stayed at the Grand Hotel Parker's last weekend with two friends and were uograded into the presidential suite overlooking the gulf of naples. very nice room, with a huge living room (with the possibility of an extra bed) and a barthroom downstairs and a double bed and huge bathroom upstairs. wonderful pieces of furniture and antique books written by the English man who gave the name to the hotel locked into a cabinet, giving the idea to the client of a place full of history and interesting stories to be told. staff extremely... more

put off staying here by trip adviser we ate in the restaurant it was excellent, professional, friendly service three good courses complimentary canape's and glass of fizz. The cost was 153 euro for two including coffee and a 40 euro bottle of wine (local wines started at 15 euro ours was the top end) The view from the table was wonderful after dinner we sat outside looking over Naples and the bay drinking limoncello listening to a brass band and watching fireworks in the city below. we left around mid-night the staff organised a taxi... more

This is a tired hotel in a very inconvenient location which is not worthy of the Expedia 4.5 star rating or the price of the room. We decided to stay in this hotel because we planned to take a day trip to Pompei which is just a 30 minute train ride from Naples. The Expedia description said the hotel was 2 km from the train station, which is absolutely untrue. The Grand Hotel Parker, a very magnificant hotel, with views over to Mount Versuvius, the Amalfi Coast and the Island of Capri. It was everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel, with good service and carefully prepared meals. It has its own private car parking (for a small fee), which if you do have a car is worth while as parking and driving in Naples is not for the faint of heart. Consistently poor service except from the doorman. Waiting staff are very busy with themselves and have little time for the guests. Staff speak almost no English or French. Bathrooms and bedrooms very tired looking (worst pillows ever). Nice public areas, good restaurant and bar, gorgeous view over the old city and the bay. I wonder how some hotels get five stars (even deluxe in this case) in Italy. I travel a lot, and, in my view, Parker's is an ageing four-star hotel with unfriendly staff. Overpriced by a factor of 2 or 3.

My family of 2 adults and 2 children (11 & 7 years) stayed 4 nights at GH Parker's at the end of October 2004. I paid the "mid-season" rack rate of Euro 350 for each of 2 connecting rooms on the third floor overlooking a main thoroughfare- Corso Vittorio Emannuele. Grand Hotel Parkers is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. The hotel is spotless and so were the rooms. I stayed there two nights, about two weeks apart. Both rooms were nice, but I highly recommend a sea view if possible. The staff spoke very good English and could not have been more helpful. Their service was meticulous. However, if you are hoping to be right in the middle of numerous restaurants or shopping, you might want to reconsider. The Grand Hotel Parkers was a delightful experience. Although the front desk staff was somewhat "spotty" in it's uniformity, the hotel is nevertheless a splendid place to stay. The public rooms and guest rooms alike are clean and spotless in the extreme, and the staff couldn't have been any more accomodating. Even the doorman seemed to have been on duty 24/7. Located on a respectable street well above the shore, Parkers has panoramic views over the Bay of Naples from Capri through Sorrento to Mount Vesuvius. The hotel gives what you'd expect for its star rating: slick organization, efficient multi-lingual staff and well appointed rooms. Naples' useful metro system can be accessed within a 5 minute walk and buses pass the door - the combined "Giro Napoli" travel pass is a real bargain. The Hotel Parker is very comfortabel, the rooms are nice, the views unbeatable. Also they have an excellent restaurant. We stayed there 3 times before. When staying in Napoli, you need a comfortable place...and a safe one. And here comes the one point: Three weeks ago we were robbed directly in front of the main-entrance, when we arrived by car at about 12 a.m. in bright daylight. No Porter was standing outside and the thiefs obviously just waited for arriving guests. They were very fast and efficient and my friend lost his expensive watch... more
