Grand Hotel Europa

We spent two nights in the hotel. We arrived by train and although overwhelmed by the confusion outside the terminal, found our way to the hotel. It was great--nice sized room, wonderful bathroom and shower! The staff was very helpful and directed us to two great restaurants in a direction away from the terminal and into a local neighborhood--all within walking distance. This hotel is spotlessly clean, with pleasant and helpful staff. Rooms tend to echo and feel bare, with lack of floor coverings (wooden floors) and plain walls. However the beds are comfortable and an abundance of hot water. Breakfasts are adequate. However the hotel, while convenient to the railway station, is loacted in a very rough area.

we stayed here for one night as we were flying out from naples - the hotel is clean and nice enough and alright value for the price. however the location is horrible - the streets are filthy and a very rough area. When we did venture outside the hotel we just wanted to return .. not recommended

The hotel is very close to the train station, very handy. We were lead to believe this was a rough area, but its right on the fringes and no worse than places in London and other big cities. We had no trouble. The guy on the check in desk blanked us initially and didn't give us all the info ie breakfast & check out times, but other staff were OK. We liked this hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was much better than average for Italian hotels. Room was clean and a reasonable size, but when window was open, it was very noisy. However, we enjoyed standing on the small balcony and watching the chaotic traffic below! Area around Piazza Garibalidi is not great, but it is a good base for tram and train connections. Finding where the stops and platforms were was challenging, but we managed. Maybe it's Naples in general but after check in by a very nice young woman the staff is surly and non-communicative. That is, they won't speak to you much, even a morning hello. The room was ok, had a bath and shower and was relatively quiet. Housekeepers did a great job of keeping things clean. Overall not bad. Now, for the breakfast....terrible service. The waiter staff spend all their time in the kitchen talking and joking loudly and generally not doing anything for the guests. Dirty tables remain dirty. Empty juice containers... more

This small hotel is two to three blocks from the train station. Not the greatest area but the hotel makes up for the bad location. Staff was wonderful. Breakfast was fine. Prices reasonable. Would stay there again although I hope to never again visit Naples.

This is a very clean hotel, the staff were all very helpful and nice to speak to. The food in the downstairs restaurant was very good although waiter service in the evening was a little slow. The hotel is situated very close to the Piazza Garibaldi (which is filthy, occupied by 'down and outs' and other very shady characters) this has the benefit of being central for travel all around campania and up to Rome. Okay hotel - not a good location, restuarant service terrible. Would not stay there again. Naples is great but you need to be in a better area.

Very very good hotel at very affordable price. The room are very clean. Hotel staff is very helpful. The location is great (although Naples itself is dirty). I always felt refreshed as we entered hotel after long day. The breakfast was veyr good and the hotel has a restaurant where you can have dinner. Food quality is very nice. Definitely recommend to anybody.
