Prinsotel Alba Apartments

A.rrived in Cala Dor approx 12 midnight to Club Martha where we had booked 6 nights to be told they had no persons on their booking list They very quikly put us in a taxi to Alba appartments where they could only give us achoice of two ground floor appartmenrs. We chose the nicer what we thought of the two. The appartment was clean and tidy. We had 5 lovely days in Cala Dor until our last day when we arrived back to our appartments to find we had been broken into. The thiefs had "jammed" the safety deposit box in the wardrobe and had taken 300 euroes from it. Our entrance door to the flat had no evidence of forced entry so you can decide for yourselves from that how they entered the appartment. Never be back.

just arrived back from 10 nights at these apartments very mixed reviews the aprtments were very clean and couldnt fault the maids in every day except sundays clean towels daily beds made and general tidy round on the down side very thin walls you can hear everything thing said next door or shouting and screaming in our case very noisy at night people coming in pressing alll the door bells and been very loud.The complex itself is more like butlins loud music but having said that found the reps to be very good with the kids.wouldnt stay here again have been to cala dor 8 times now and have stayed at much nicer places.

Just arrived back from a fabulous holiday in Prinsotel Alba. When we got there Hotel was overbooked, but we were looked after impeccably by being upgraded from self catering to half board after spending just 2 nights in the hotel up the road. Prinsotel rang a taxi especially to take us there despite only being 2 mins away.
The food was to die for, loads of choice, every taste catered for. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, anything you wanted all you had to do was ask.
The apartment was lovely, cleaned every day and fresh towels provided if needed. They all had air con (very necessary!) and we were lucky to overlook the pool.
Lots of activities to do during the day, but no pressure to do anything you didn't want to. We particularly enjoyed the pistol shooting (which we won!) but other activities were darts, archery, pool, football, table tennis plus loads of other things for younger children. All these activities were very patiently and skillfully run by the Hotel's entertainment staff, (Davide being our favourite because my daughter thought he was gorgeous!) they seemed tireless and continued the entertainment until around mindnight each night. They were all very friendly and excellent with the kids who all loved them.
Overall, a fab holiday in a fab resort, we would definitely return!

I have just returned from a week at the Prinsotel Alba Apartments which although started with a disapointment turned out to be a really great holiday. My party consisted of 2 adults and two teenage girls and on arrival at 5pm in the afternoon it was obvious that there was a problem with the booking i.e they did not have an apartment for us, but it was handled very quickly and professionally and within 10 minutes we were arriving at an alternative place to stay which was 2 minutes up the road they even laid on a cab to take us. The replacement apartment was only to be for 2 nights and then they would have our apartment ready and true to their word it was available to us on time. Although this was an inconvience (unpacking & packing again) they gave the whole party half board as compensation which was great. The apartment was smashing very spacious, clean and the bathroom was on a par with any good hotel that you may stay in (clean towels every day and toiletries). The resort itself is very nice but I found it to be very expensive and had we not been given half board I think that we would have run out of money. The food in the restaurant was lovely and very varied and the waiting staff were great. As for the sun beds we didnt have a problem (and we didnt try to get one till 10.30am most days). The entertainment was good, my girls even picked up some of the songs that were sung at the Mini disco, and fiesta time every day in the pool according to my eldest daughter who said that the chap doing it was a treat to the eyes (her words not mine) is not to be missed!! All in all a great holiday, i would definately stay at the Prinsotel again as I think it is great value for money, but i feel that the resort (especially the spar supermarket) is taking advantage of the holidaymaker just a little bit.

Apartments great - set out in various blocks. Spacious inside, kettle and toaster provided on request from main reception without any hassle - you just need to ask. TV with Satellite channels - 10 euro deposit refunded when controls handed back to reception. Air con - not too strong but enough to notice that when it was not on it got hot!
Great pool with separate kids pool. Sunbeds... you have to be there for just before 9am as chains get taken off at 9am, after the cleaners have finished leaving the area spotless. It is a pain but isn't everywhere, you just have to adopt the motto if you can't beat them join them. We dropped out towels were we wanted our beds to be placed then joined the influx of people - it is so funny to watch. Kids really enjoyed themselves each day at the pool, games, club dances etc ours were at a great age 6 & 7.
Entertainment in the evening was outside at the bar area, kids from 9 pm kids all learnt club dances and even adults joined in each night! 10 pm the family entertainment started, it was ok better when they brought in outside acts - Disney night was great! There was alot of teenagers who took stage later on in the evening and did club dances - they all seemed to mix well with each other, they all had great fun hanging around together. Our compliments to the entertainments staff.
Cala Grand beach is 2 minutes walk away, lovely beach set in a gorgeous bay, other beaches are within walking distance.
Marina is about 10/15 walk away, another world. Lovely to walk around and think how the other half live! Gorgeous chinese at Marina but ask for special menu as it is not offered but advertised on a board outside - 3 course for under 11 euro.
Cala D'ior itself 5 mins up slight hill, has so many nice restaurants, not once in 10 days could I have faulted any meal - we were well pleased.
Very enjoyable/relaxing holiday and look forward to returning again next year.

We stayed at the apartments for a week and within that week we were not able to get a sunbed ...... at all!!!! Sunbeds were apparently released at 9.00am, this was obviously not the case, as we on two/three occassions, went round before that time and they had all gone. We resulted to sitting on dining chairs for the day then decided to go and find a pool elsewhere (which we had to pay for). The most annoying thing was that a third of the sunbeds had towels on them for most of the day but no bodies .... seriously needs some kind of marshalling.
As for the apartments, basic and tired are the words that spring to mind. Not even a kettle ... so antiquated. Anyway, as you can probably tell, i will not be staying at these apartments again.
The positive side is that Cala dor itself it a lovely area with some fab restaurants etc.

Great pool and pool area. The sunbeds are unlocked at 9am and they are out and covered in towels by 9.01am. We had one of the apartments around the pool area although our balcony was on the other side so the pool view was at the front door!! the other block opposite us had their balcony's pool side so much better, there were alot of blocks over the road from the pool also. The rooms were clean and spacious and good facilities and had aircon but it was not particulary powerful so don't expect to be cold just a bit cooler than outside. The weather was fantastic and the beach was a 2 minute walk, it was small and busy but lovely and sandy, no rocks or stones and quite warm because it is a cove. The main town was a 5-10 minute stroll and the marine a 15-20 minute stroll, with loads of eating places. The entertainment in the hotel was good, loads going on thoughout the day and the kids disco was great. They have some spanish holiday songs which are played at the pool every day and at the end of the night which are brilliant and I have searched and searched for them so if anybody knows what they are called write the names on your review. Entertainers were great. Had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday and my two girls had a ball.

Brilliant apartments, fantastic location. Only 1 to 2 minute walk to the Cala Gran beach which is a small but beautiful cove beach. Not many watersports but the pedaloes were great! Also a short 10minute walk to the square which has loadsa fab restaurants and bars. Highly reccomended.

We had booked here to stay 10 days with Easyjet holidays. When we arrived, they told us they were fully booked and had to put us up at the Sol Cala D'or for the first 2 days then have we back, upgraded to half board for the rest of the holiday.
The complex itself is lovely and clean, and mostly German (which we didn't mind). The pool itself is small and constantly crowded with small mostly British children jumping squealing and splashing. We went in once and it was a purgatory. There are only a few of the 800+ hotel rooms surrounding the pool.
Our room overlooked other hotel rooms, so close that you had to draw the curtains. The back window overlooked a dirt path but luckily our apartment was less than 2 minutes walk from Cala gran beach.
The apartment was clean and adequate with (thank god) aircon. The kitchen consists of 2 rings and a fridge. No kettle, toaster bottle opener etc. Beds were comfy. Room service was not very good, maids came around every 3 days and just emptied the bin that's all.
Food at the hotel was ok considering it was free to us. But evening meal started to get bizarre so we left it. Pig's lungs, rabbit stew, veal, bratwurst, pig's heart. Horrible.
Reception mostly helpful, but one girl got everything wrong.
Noise from above apartment was terrible after 9am with dragging of furniture. Made it impossible to stay out late the night before and have a lie-in!
Overall, an 8/10 but won't stay in Cala D'or again- too touristy.

We really enjoyed our holiday here, in and around the apartments were very well maintained and clean. The rooms were decent sizes and comfortable. The food from the Pool Bar was very nice and not badly priced. There was also loads of variety of restaurants and bars to choose from in walking distance. The local beach was clean and had lovely clear, warm water. We recommend a trip to the water park because its really good fun for everyone, and the SOS guys are VERY good looking! Overall our holiday was brilliant and we would definitely go again (but hope for no rain!).
