Grand Borneo Hotel

A great hotel with friendly and ever willing to help staffs. The food at the Soul Out Restaurant is superb for both breakfast and dinner. The room is well maintained, extremely clean with snow white fluffy towels and full bath robes. I was lucky to have been given a room with nice view of the green mountain across. As a frequent traveller, I normally go for a swim after a hard day's work or walk, the semi indoor poor in this hotel is so very inviting because its equiped jacuzzy. B4 my husband and I left for KK, I read on Tripadvisor on the free shuttle bus svc to the hotel. However, when we arrived at KK, we waited for almost 3 hrs for the shuttle bus tt never came! At first we tot we might hav jus missed e shuttle svc (as there was no bus schedule). We stayed in Grand Boreno for 4 nights and we truly found the stay very welcoming and comfortable. Staff at the reception was warm and friendly, carrying a smile on them always. As we arrived at 11am, we asked for an early check-in. Since our room wasn't ready, they offered a free upgrade to a deluxe room so that we can have a rest from our tiring flight. svc was good. toiletries & mineral water was replenished everyday. i like!!! nice lobby with wi-fi. Don't have to take a bus to go to hypermall bcoz it's juz located beside the hotel. would be good if GIANT closes @ 12 midnite instead of 10pm. there's also 7-eleven & orange which operates 24 hrs. also there's a clinic. very good location. overall i enjoyed my stay there!!!

The hotel is one of the better ones in the area. We checked out yesterday after a 3 nights stay in this hotel, which we would describe as clean, modern and value for money. Location - It is situated within the 1Borneo Hypermall which has numerous shops and eateries. If you forget to bring some daily essentials along, fret not as you would most likely be able to get them here. You will also find branded stuff in this upmarket mall. The Mercure Hotel Kota Kinabalu is situated within the 1Borneo Shopping Mall approx. 10km outside of Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah. The hotel as well as the shopping mall have been newly opened in 2007, therefore the hotel is in a very good condition. We have booked the room via latestays.com, a very recommendable online travel agent for last minute bookings.
