$700 stolen from safe
After $700 have disappeared from the safety deposit box I learned that hotel personnel can open the safe with a special device without it being recorded (guests’ opening and closing are recorded). The so-called security person did not seem to be willing to do anything, and I had to ask that they call the police and I reported it. Management response has been a joke, taking no responsibility. If this was an outsider, then guests are not safe there. If it was an inside job, it is even worse. Being handicapped on top of everything, this had... more
absoultely horrific place!
absoultely horrific place! rude service, lousy rooms, the place is a dump, save yourself the time.. the rooms we stayed in were small and the carpet was dirty, the shower head broke and it took a whole day to fix it,even though we have told the front desk we want to take a shower.. the service at the front desk was impolite,a young woman talked to us impolitly, the food was ok though.. !@#$#!$%!@
Peaceful and nice
We spend 2 nights in the Grand Beach, and all we can say is "Great !". The room was clean and fully renovated, bathroom nice with hairdryer !! and a beautyfull view on the beach and he port ( 9th floor). The food is correct as well as the breakfast, but the elevator are little bit small and old. it's nice hotel with 5 minutes walk from the beach wich is perfect!
More Grubby than 'Grand'!!
Our party of 47 people stayed at the 'Grubby Beach'...I mean 'Grand Beach' Hotel in August 2008. Having had a wonderful 6 days around Israel, we were sorely disappointed at our final day's stay at this hotel! The foyer looked modern and clean - but then we tried the lifts! Old, slow and VERY small. The stairwells were smelly and unkept - one floor even smelt of rotting food while dirty laundry was piled up in others. Our rooms smelt mouldy with faint wafts of stale cigarettes, the carpets were stained, the beds were small and... more
Great hotel!
I was in Tel Aviv on business the first week of January and stayed at the Grand Beach hotel. What I liked the most about it was its location. The hotel is beautifully located near the center and the popular Disenhof Street. It is also just across the street from the beach. You can go for a swim or watch a sunset. They have a nice swimming pool on the roof. The room where I stayed was on the 11th floor. It wasn't big but comfortable. It had wireless (you have to pay). One thing worth mentioning is that if you need a big bed (King size, for... more
Not yet 4 stars
I stayed at this hotel at the end of September this year. The front desk and the public areas of this hotel, are cold and uninviting. It badly needs some warming up. I was there on the Sabbath, and elevator service was even more problematic than ordinarily. This hotel needs new elevators as far as I am concerned. The present elevators are very small, can hardly accommodate a few people and their luggage all at once, and they are awfully, awfully slow. The hotel room was fine, and seemed to have been recently renovated and, with... more
What a joke!
This place is a joke. The only thing good about it was the fact it is right across the street from the ocean. The rooms are horrible, the carpet is disgustingly dirty. The beds are small and uncomfortable. The only thing nice in the room was the shower head was new and worked well. The hallways are dirty and the elevators are old and slow. We took the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator and they were dirty with trash sitting on some of the steps. I do not recommend this hotel!
never again
The worst experience I had in my life as regards hotel accomodation. I'm a very frequent traveller (both for business and for pleasure), but I never had a such disgusting experience. First of all, they try to give us a very old room (dirty, with damaged furniture and floor, with a view on rubbish) at 4th floor [the oldest part of the hotel], even if we payed in advance for a renewed room: it took me almost one hour of discussion to have the room at 11th floor (the renewed floor) that we have booked. But the worst experience... more
Awful!!!
I was disgusted by this hotel's AWFUL service during a trip July 2008. They were unhelpful and rude at the front desk.
STAY AWAY FROM THE GRAND BEACH DUMP!
PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN!!! STAY AWAY FROM THE GRAND BEACH! today is 6/30/2008 stayed for one night on 6/29/2008 Saw pictues of the hotel on the internet and thought it looked great. I booked a room for a great deal. I called mutiple time to ask for a crib for my 17 month old baby girl. I was told that it would not be any problem. I got to the room and I had a roll away bed instread. Got into the hotel at 10PM after a real long flight so had baby sleep with us. The staff was not helpful at all and real rude. Each time I... more
