I can only say good things about Club Martha's. The accommodation was excellent clean and tidy with plenty of room for our family (wife and two kids 7 & 5).
The rooms were cleaned every other day which was more than enough. The blackout curtains and shutters meant that the beautiful sunshine didn't wake you up.
The balcony on the apartment was massive with enough room to fit two sun beds and a table and four chairs.
The entertainment was acceptable if not a little old fashioned, but it passed away a few nights.
The resort it's self was very good although we did find ourselves going into the town centre of Cala D’or which was much more lively and plenty of things for the kids.
I can highly recommend "Tonys Bar" just around the corner from club Martha’s. The food and service were always top class. Another favourite of ours was "Barlenova" in the centre of Cala D’or the food was brilliant with a litre of good wine at 8 euro's we had many a good night.
I'm already looking into going back next year, the resort and apartments are perfect for people with young families.

I've stayed at Club Martha's, twice now in recent years and have enjoyed it both times.
The staff were very helpful and I found that they couldn't do enough for you. Plenty to do, good location and good facilities. They even go out of their way to organise trips for you if you are not part of a tour package.
We used Martha's as a base to explore the island so the majority of our time was spent out and about finding all the nice beaches and landmarks.
To be honest, who goes on holiday and spends all their time in their hotel room? You go for the sun! So what if it’s a little outdated! All you need is a good bed, good shower, and somewhere to make a snack if you want it and Martha's provided all that.
And if the decor is not quite to your liking - go somewhere else! You get what you pay for - here you get a good deal.
Never seen a cockroach yet.
Can't fault you Martha's - See you again in June!

I went to Marthas with my boyfriend for a relaxing holiday and this hotel and surrounding area was perfect. It wasn’t too loud but it was lively and just what we wanted! Perfect for couples and families.
The pools were lovely however we did have some problems getting loungers. This may be due to the fact we went out to the pool too late.
Everything else was perfect, the restaurants and bars were 2 minutes away from the hotel but as Cala Egos is only a small resort, there was no noise heard coming from the town when you were at the hotel
The rooms were spacious and so were the balconies. We were particularly impressed with the bathroom which was lovely. Everything was clean and it couldn’t have been any better.
We loved staying at this hotel and if we visit Majorca we would not hesitate to stay here again!! Amazing holiday which I would greatly recommend.

We arrived at about 9.30pm in our room to find a cockroach sharing our bathroom.
The apartments were very dark due to over grown gardens at the back. Went to reception morning after asked to be moved the Thomas Cook reps were excellent and moved us the next day.
The new room was lovely the pools were great and the entertainment was fab, especially Sam. There was plenty to do but you weren't forced to do them.
We had a brilliant holiday and the Thomas cook reps were the best and so were the club Martha's entertainment crew.
Would definitely advise the speed boat trip and the cabaret night in Palma.
Would recommend this complex for people with kids wanting activities. x

Hello.
Well on the 19th of august I stayed at Martha’s hotel with my. There were 13 of us.
Our flight left at 4.15 and we arrived in Mallorca 4 about 7ish but with the 1 hour added time difference it was 8 o’clock. The coach never left though till about half 9 so we never got there till about half 12 on the night as we was the last group to be dropped of. When we got there this moody man there who I presume was the manger took us all to our rooms. All our rooms were apartments and they were all together.
We stayed in the Bolera part of the complex which we had our own greenery where we all relaxed during some days of our holiday.
I wasn’t very happy with the idea of my children sleeping on the hard sofa beds and a fold up bed that was originally out side and was just brought in for them to sleep on and my other relative wasn’t happy as it was the same for them. So we complained but they soon helped us out and sorted it.
Every morning the kids would all go down the pool about 9 till 12ish and then go back in on the night till about 7 till 8.3 put the pool did not close till 9.30 but once again that moody man told them its time to get out. The rooms were clean and liveable.
During the whole 2 weeks of the holiday we never really ate at the complex we always went out for diner and that apart from a couple of times when the kids got a pizza at the pizzeria. They said it was really nice.
The entertainment was good but we only saw 1 or 2 as we usually went to the Bogart’s club or the Yates. Which usually had live entertainment on every night, and snooker and pool for the kids to play when they got bored.
The beaches were very small but the water was extremely clean. The only fault is that there was a lot of jelly fish at least 5 of us got stung by one. My daughter got stung the worst four times at once. It stung for a bit but then just left swelled marks on her arms and legs where she got stung.
There as loads of places to eat just outside club Martha’s we usually ate at "the Corner" or "Toby’s Bar" they did very nice English food as well as other dishes.
While we were there we took all the kids to the water park in Magaluf. They really enjoyed them selves as well as us adults did. It was extremely good fun. We also went on the glass bottom bout. The kids loved that to as they could slide of the boats in to the sea. Usually during the day we went the beach. Cala’ D’or beach was good as you could rent pedelo boats out with slides which the kids once again loved.
Overall the holiday was brilliant and every single of us enjoyed our selves the weather was really hot and we all got good tans :D I would recommend club Martha’s for people with families who want to have a good time

We thought there would be very few kids as it was out of holiday season but we were very wrong. Not that we have anything against children but being woken early every morning to the sounds of the Molly Club singing "Ich bin Snappy das kleine Crocodile!" was wearing thin by the 3rd day!
The hotel room was clean enough. I have noticed on other reviews that people who had booked a 1 bed apartment were shown to a studio room - as we were - when they got there - it seems they try this on with everyone. We were moved into our booked apartment soon enough so if this happens to you, don't just accept it!
Overall, not a bad place and I can see the attraction for people with young families as the entertainment is good for kids. I wouldn't go back though and couples would be wise to avoid it!

My wife and 2 children (boy aged 14 girl aged 13) spent the second and third week of August at Club Marthas. Wasn't sure what to expect as previously read conflicting reports on this and other websites.
Discovered after the first day that Thomas Cook guests can hire a kettle and toaster for free(I believe others pay a rental fee). We were on 3rd floor in Clio block with large balcony overlooking a shaded grassy area adjacent to the football pitch - very quiet at night which meant we got a good sleep. Air con helped in this respect. Sheets were changed 3 times while we were there and we had about 6 changes of towels.
We used the pool to the rear of the complex-an area sometimes referred to as the" private apartments". It was never too crowded as opposed to the other 2 pools. Sunloungers went pretty quickly at all the pools but someday i noticed 1or 2 available after 10am.
There was a well organised daily activity programme for all age groups. Evening entertainment was bit hit and miss-some live acts and some shows put on by the staff who mimed to the music.
We tried the evening buffet on one occasion only. Food was ok but limited choice of main courses and we preferred to eat out in the many reasonable restaurants n Cala Egos. Of these I should mention huge portions at the Irish Bistro which was frequently booked out. The Argentinean pizza cafe in the pedestrianised area was very good -staff very friendly. Beatrice restaurant also good.
Club Marthas is about 200 yards or so from Es Forti beach which we preferred to Cala Egos beach (about 700 yards away) There were small jellyfish on both. There were also jellyfish at Cala D’Or beach when we went there.
All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday at Club Marthas. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, the apartment was clean and in good condition and the complex was well maintained.

We arrived at Martha's on the 20th August to be told that they had overbooked and there was no room at the inn! We had independently booked a 6 day break which overlapped by three days with friends. We asked to see the manager who gave us two options. Either stay at alternative accommodation for 2 nights and Martha's for the remainder, or stay at the alternative for 5 nights and Martha's for one.
Perfect for a short break! Following a short walk to the 'alternative' accommodation there was no decision to make! We were offered the Parque Mar together with compensation of half board at Martha's for the length of our stay with full use of their facilities - we only truly appreciated the difference the following day. All credit to the manager though, who arranged for the whole of our stay to be taken at the Parque Mar. I can only give a brief summary of Martha's as we really didn't make the full use of their facilities.
Our friend's accommodation was a fairly spacious one bedroom apartment on the Ses Cases D’Or section. I have read other reviews which said that part had been renovated in 2005 but we could find no evidence of that. There was a kitchenette with hob but no oven. There was air conditioning but it wasn't working terribly well and the apartment wasn't particularly clean. Towel changing/cleaning service was hit and miss. It was a Butlins in the sun type atmosphere with a bing bong hi-de-hi type tannoy announcing each event throughout the day. Having said that, our children aged 11 and 9 would have loved that constant entertainment as would most youngsters, together with the numerous pool and table tennis tables.
We watched one evening entertainment programme, the tribute to Disney! Snow White with her flute meets Baloo. No comment! The pools were fine but too few/small for the size of the complex. Space between sun beds at pool side was approximately one to two inches apart (that's if you could find one after 7am) therefore personal hygiene was paramount! Our children found their way to the main pool which consisted of an upper and lower section, divided by a waterfall type walkway. Children were climbing onto this walkway and jumping into the lower section of the pool (which was particularly deep) but I felt, extremely dangerous (and my children are very strong and confident swimmers) No comment to make on the activities during the day as we didn't join in.
Now to the half board. I know we had it for free, and to be fair, I am definitely not a fussy eater, but we had to eat out on at least three occasions during the six days. There was usually a salad bar type starter every evening/soup and sometimes pate. There were usually two choices of main courses for the evening meal. One evening's example of the choices of main course were boiled fish or meatballs! I would give the food a definite one out of ten. To summarise, Martha's was definitely not for me. I'm not knocking it completely because if you want aqua aerobics at 10, volleyball at 11, football at 12, kids Olympics at 2, mini disco at 8 (I know every word to every song (miaow, miaow) and evening entertainment at 10 and you don't mind getting very friendly with your fellow holidaymakers then Martha's is for you. Just a few words about the Parque Mar.
Beautiful large gardens, three pools, one for children, one very large (and deep) second pool and a third quiet pool for adults. Adequate sun beds for all whatever time you decided to venture out. Masses of space to site your lounger under a shady tree or beside the pool. Complex was nearly directly on the rocky coastline with 'jumping in' points off the rocks (fantastic for the children on calm days - good swimmers only though).
Rooms were spacious, very clean with good facilities and towel and room cleaning every other day. A brief word about Cala Egos/Cala D’Or. Had been there about five years ago to the Hotel Corfu Marina (wouldn't go there again either). Quite a number of bars/restaurants - all very Anglicized and you would be hard pushed to find anything 'Mallorcan/Spanish' about the resort. Having said that, there was definitely a family atmosphere about the place and very friendly.
We had been given a recommendation to eat at the Beatrix or Beatriz restaurant at Cala Egos and that lived up to its reputation. Definitely worth it. We did have a great time but would probably only return for a very short break in future. One word of warning, I booked the apartment through Alpha rooms and wrote a similar, although more brief review, on their website. It has not been published. Their last review is dated the 21st July and they only appear to put positive reviews on the website. Probably best not to take much notice and to use independent review sites.

Just back from a one week stay at Club Martha's. We found the complex to be fantastic, clean plenty to do and the children loved the pool. Again all the sun beds were reserved by the Germans by 8.30am even though they did not appear to use them before 2.00pm most days, we only ever had one sun bed where they felt that all their party sometimes 8 people needed one each! Cala Egos beach was lovely.
However one day there was a lot of rubbish across the beach and in the water which they did try to clean but there was too much. We had a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor so our balcony was a little garden which they forget to tell you have sprinklers to water the grass, on the 2nd morning I realised this as our beach towels and swimming costumes were wet.
Very basic apartment all four of us slept on the twin beds pushed together as none of us fancied the sofa beds. The rooms are in a serious need of updating mustard coloured walls is not very fetching. The rooms were clean-ish the bathrooms were nice. Inadequate facilities for a self catering room but being with Thomas Cook at least we got a toaster and kettle free. You have to pay 5 euros for the TV control (refundable upon leaving) so you can change the channel to German, German or German.
I had read that they had hairdryers so did not take one. You have to rent them for the week and they had none available for the week that I was there. Saying all this we did have a great time Tony’s restaurant around the corner is fantastic great meals and at a good price. We did go into Cala D’Or to eat which was great we tried some lovely Tapas. We caught the blue and yellow train to Cala D’Or which the children loved (however it is cheaper in a taxi or walk its 25 minutes). My daughter loved the Molly Disco and the entertainment team are fantastic.
All in all a great week away relaxed ate plenty and the children loved it. But Martha’s club is not a 4 star complex as rated by Thomas Cook the complex and facilities are 3 star and the accommodation 2 star.

Don’t expect 4star- but Marthas has a lot to offer the family. Apartment was adequate and our tour operator gave us exactly what we asked for. We even had our own small private garden.
Kids clubs were great and they learn Dutch and German in to the bargain. The pool area was over crowded during the day- don’t expect a sun bed unless your prepared to fight for one before daybreak.
Didn’t eat much at marthas as we preferred to venture out, but it looked ok. Watch the reception staff for giving wrong change for items - telling you it was a smaller note you gave them.
The resort is great, a little calm for my liking, but Cala dor is only a pleasant 15 min walk to the marina which is superb. For eating try the Aquarius on the far side of the marina and the el pasqador at cala egos- lovely and good value. Don’t think we had a bad meal in two weeks.
All in all a great holiday had by all. Thanks Thomas cook.

We have just returned from Club Marthas having had a fab 10 days holiday. I booked the holiday on the strength of the positive reviews on this site and am disappointed for the recent people who had complaints. I think people must understand that this is a huge complex, accommodating several hundred people at a time and they can't please everyone all of the time. I think these guests have been unlucky and would advise anyone thinking about Martha’s not to be put off.
There are a couple of issues to be considered - we arrived at 10am in the morning and could not get in our apartment til 2pm which was a pain. However, we booked directly and would take a later flight another time. Our apartment was clean but not immaculate and the beds were not very comfortable. The buffet food was a bit bland at times but perfectly edible and there was a lot of Dutch guests (only a few Germans when we were there). The pools were busy as is the whole complex during July/August. At the end of the day, this is a two grand holiday not ten, you get what you pay for and Martha’s is good value.
The most important thing to remember is that this is a family complex - do not go if you want a quiet time! Our kids 10 and 5 had a ball, they did not want to go home and are pestering us to book for next year. We feel that the positive elements definitely outweigh the negative.

We booked Club Marthas on a self catering basis only one week before departure and paid only half the brochure price. All flights and transfers were on time and well organised.
The hotel reception looks recently refurbished and has a modern contemporary feel. We were dealt with efficiently by friendly hotel team, however since we had arrived at 12.30pm our room was not be ready until 2pm, however this was not unexpected. We had lunch in the hotel snack bar/restaurant. A reasonable meal at a reasonable price in clean and comfortable surroundings and friendly staff.
Just before 2 we checked if our room was ready, and it was. We had requested a ground floor room with pool view, and that is exactly what we got. We are glad that we had a one bedroom apartment, sine the studios only had day-beds to sleep on. As previous feedback had said, we found the room to be basic, but clean, and recent refurbishment has obviously focused on the bathroom, which was of a high standard.
Cleaning was 3 times a week, and to be honest not very thorough, towels changed 3 times per week, sheets changed twice per week, which we thought was acceptable.
We rented a safe deposit box as you would expect to do, but also if you wanted a remote for the TV (only 2 british channels) or a kettle/toaster/iron/hairdryer you had to hire those too, and the there was only a two ring electric hob, but you manage don't you? Aircon/heating in the room was no extra charge though.
Watch out also if you have a ground floor room with a garden terrace as we did, since the automatic sprinklers come on during the night and will soak anything that you have put out to dry! But you learn don't you? There were 2 sunbeds and table and 4 chairs on our terrace. As well as overlooking the pool we overlooked the stage where all the evening entertainment took place which finished at about midnight. So this would not be a great room location if you wanted an early night or had young children that you needed to get to bed early.
The entertainment team, of which there were about 8 of them, organised entertainment all day and every evening. The in-house entertainment tended to be the team miming to songs, for example, Sister Act, Moulin Rouge, Disney Films, and i must say they did a pretty good job. Twice per week there were professional shows, eg Rod Stewart/Elvis tribute, Cirque du Soleil type acrobats, again all pretty good. Daytime activities were all geared to every age group from toddlers to adults.
Out and about, Cala Egos is quite small, but has some great restaurants and bars, and enough shops. The best value restaurant we found was Tony's bar. His breakfast was great value and in the evening all the meals that we had were excellent. For your shopping try to avoid the local Spar, go to the supermarket at the end of the square (Eroski) its about half the price.
The Marina at Cala d'or is about a twenty minute stroll, and there is also a 'road train' that takes you there and back and into Cala d'or centre for 3€.
To conclude we had a great relaxing holiday, but i'm not sure we would have been as happy if we had paid the full brochure price. The brochure claims it is a four star, but i would say it is a good three star.
