Fabulous hotel
We stayed here for three days and loved everything about the place. The decor was great, stylish and minimal and more to our taste than other `boutique' hotels in Andalusia. Our room was lovely, clean cool and spacious with a great modern bathroom and very comfortable beds. I didn't notice any noise and I'm usually a light sleeper. The location is perfect for everything you could want to see in Granada. The staff booked our tickets to the Alhambra and were helpful and charming throughout our stay. We left totally chilled out... more
Parking problems and lack of customer service
Be Careful! There is no customer service and the help is not up to speed on parking lots in the area. The hotel gave us the name of a parking lot (must use parking garages and walk or taxi to hotel) and did not tell us it was not a 24 hour lot. Our luggage and car were locked in a public lot for two days. When we begged for help there was none. We were supposed to leave Granada but couldnt without our car! It was also a holiday and most hotels were full so we had no where to stay that night. We had to rent a second car, drive to our next... more
A stylish gem
We have just returned from 2 nights at the 'El Ladron de Agua'. We loved the blend of the old and new in this hotel. We had a room at the front of the hotel with a small balcony giving views up to the Alhambra. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well - no problems with noise. The bathroom was well equipped (including a jacuzzi bath) and the blend of the old (wooden ceilings, floors and window shutters) and the new (bathroom fixtures, flatscreen TV) worked well for us. The breakfast choice reflected that this is a... more
Not impressed
We stayed in this hotel for one night in April 2006. On entering the hotel the original courtyard has been enclosed and covered with marble, in a very minimalist way, taking the town house charm away. We stayed in the suite in the bell tower. Whatever you do do not stay in this room as we got no sleep at all as a result of street noise. This probably has got something to do with the fact that the suite has windows all round. Half of the other hotel rooms face the street, over looking the Alhambra, so be careful. The room itself was nice, but... more
Lovely and stylish
A beautiful hotel with a great mix of the old and the new. We especially liked the modern approach for the lobby and the interior "courtyard". The library is warm and welcoming and offers a computer for internet access. All around peaceful and relaxing. Our room was very nice, with a comfy bed, and everything was spotlessly clean. A good and modern bathroom. Earplugs took care of some street noise. We noticed that the original ceilings in our bedroom were still in place. Very impressive. A lot of TLC was put into removating this... more
A jewel in Granada
This small hotel situated in the heart of Granada at the base of the famous Alhambra offers comfortable and quiet accomadation with personal service. We stayed here for 4 nights in 2 rooms with our children aged 13 and 10 years old. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with large modern bathrooms. This hotel has a modern upmarket feel and look, despite its obviously historic past. Breakfast is served in a cosy basement "cove" and is typically European ( toasts. patries, breads as well as cheese and assortments of cold meats.)<br... more
Great boutique hotel
We stayed at the Ladron de Agua for two nights in April, 2006 and found it outstanding. We had one of the "superior doubles". The room was large, well-appointed and very comfortable. It had a view looking up at the Alahambra. Housekeeping was immaculate. The only complaint one can muster is that the lighting was not very good for reading. Despite the location in the middle of the city, street noise did not keep us awake. The hotel's location is outstanding, a short walk to both the Albecine and to the Plaza Nueva where one catches... more
Lovely hotel
Really lovely small hotel: excellent position for all that Granada offers, on the main route into the Albaicin (Carrer del Darro), facing the walls of the Alhambra. Very pleasant and helpful staff, extremely accommodating for a tourist town like Granada. Lovely breakfast, including fresh orange juice and great coffee. Style and feel very refreshing and cool, not at all cloying like many "small and charming" type places. Access easiest on foot or by taxi. Had a room looking forwards onto Carrer del Darro and the river and base of the Alhambra... more
Just like the pictures on the web site
Stayed two nights at this hotel (don't know why its in the bed and breakfast section of the reviews as it is a hotel!). Booked the hotel direct from the website and the pictures there are just like in reality. We booked two standard rooms for our party and they were wonderful. We took breakfast at the hotel and again you could not fault it. Everything was fresh and the room where breakfast is served is a delight. The staff were very helpful and we found it to be the best value of all the hotels we stayed in during our ten day visit to... more
Great Choice in Granada
Stayed at this hotel 22 August for 2 nights. It was air conditioned and the decor inside the reception and communal areas has a lovely calming effect on you as you enter from the heat of the day. Rooms are nice, bathrooms new and spacious. We took a room with a view of the Alhambra, but actually in hindsight an interior room (cheaper) would have been just as good. Free internet access is an added bonus. Breakfast great. Staff very friendly, no request too much for them.
