Edi Macinko Apartments

We were lucky enough to find and book this place on line. We were on a driving holiday and had stayed everywhere from plush hotels to private studio apartments. The rooms at Edi's are simple, without frills, but clean, comfortable, and have all you will need. The views of the harbour, and the location in general is absolutely fabulous. But the best part of it is Edi himself. You could go a long way and spend a LOT of money, and find no better host. Our stay in Dubrovnik was wonderful and biggest part of that is because of Edi. From the very beginning we had a very warm welcome and felt like home. Edi was really kind and attentive. Even though our plans have changed and we stayed an extra day in Dubrovnik, Edi did everything possible to make our stay smooth. Edi was promptly waiting for us at the bus station (Pile) as agree on the e-mail we changed. The rooms are generally basic (don't expect luxury ) but are good value for the location. They had everything we needed - a small fridge, a nice balcony, private bathroom, etc. The view from his rooms are amazing and the location couldn't be any more ideal, located about 1 minute walk from the old town entrance. great location, literally 2 mins walk from the old town. edi goes out of his way to tell you where and where not to go and help you if he can. clean spacious room. recommended!

i stayed with my cousin in edi's sea view rooms in may and had a fantastic time. we were disappointed to only have discovered this location at the end of our trip, otherwise we would have stayed there for the entire duration. edi and his family are so incredibly hospitable and they've got some great stories to tell. the location couldn't be any more ideal and it's definitely worth every penny you spend, which isn't much. i highly, highly recommend edi's sea rooms for anyone visiting dubrovnik.

Edi is a character whose apartments are extremely close to the main Gate. The rooms are generally basic but are good value for the location. Our room overlooked a very charming cove and onto the walls of the Old Town. There is free parking nearby but it is not easy to find. There is public parking at a reasonable rate. Don't expect luxury for the rates which can be bargained in the off-season.

After a month of inter-railing around europe and staying in some right dodgy places along the way,we decided to end our trip in sun dreanched Dubrovnik! We arrived with no where to stay and after knocking door to door asking for a room we were left disappointed as there were no availabilties! We met Edi at the bus station (Pile) and were wary at first about going with him since we had been warned about people soliciting rooms at the bus station. But we compared prices around town and realized that he was offering us a really good deal. The top floor rooms have fantastic views of a rocky cove right next to the old city (see pictures below). Try to stay here. I stayed at Edi's Seaview apartments in October and had one of the two balcony rooms on the top floor. I was travelling by myself and Edi was a wonderful host and went out of his way to make me feel at home and to tell me where to go and what to see. Nothing was ever any trouble to him and I would recommend his apartments to anyone. The best seaview ever - straight out onto the harbour. Caroline (New Zealand)

We arrived in Dubrovnik rather late in the evening and we didn't have any accommodation booked for that night. On the Pile gate (where the airport shuttle bus dropped us off) Edi offered to accommodate us in one of the rooms he rents.
