Chelidonia Villas

We just returned from a vacation in Greece. It was an incredible two weeks and one of the best parts was staying at Chelidonia. The views from the cave villas are extraordinary and we were as comfortable as we have ever been. It truly doesn't get much better than Chelidonia and Oia is the most beautiful village in the entire world.

We just returned from a 6 week vacation and our last, and best stop was the Chelidonia Villas. My wife loved it. It was as beautiful as one can imagine. The Villas are origional with breath taking views, quiet at night and in the middle of the city. Just could not be better.

My friend and I stayed at the Chelidonia Traditional Villas in September, and we highly recommend it. The views are spectacular - we spent many happy hours relaxing on our private terrace soaking in the beauty of the cliffs and the sea. We had a lovely 2-bedroom villa with large rooms, an over-sized bathroom, and a big terrace, all very clean and attractive. Upon arriving in Oia, I could not erase the smile from my face. It's just as we imagined....beautiful, breathtaking and absolutely magical. Staying at the Chelidonia Villas made us feel as if we lived there - rooms were basic but cozy and they even stayed quite cool during those hot days (we were there at the end of July). My wife and I stayed at Chelidonia for 6 weeks in 2000 and it was fantastic. Our villa was very comfortable, always clean and the view was just breathtaking. Triantaffylos and Erika were great hosts. In fact, they helped us alot both before we arrived (it was a longer visit so there were other things to arrange as well) and while we were there. It was a true pleasure to get to know them. We are planning to return to Oia this coming spring and we would never consider staying with anyone else.

Chelidonia was an absolutely magical place to stay for our June 2004 honeymoon - it was the highlight of our incredible 2 week trip to spectacular Greece. My wife Gill, myself and two of our daughters stayed at the Chelidonia Villas. The place is just beautiful and very relaxing. The view is one of the best I've seen, taking in the "caldera", that is, the enclosed sea area in what is a sunken volcano. The villa was really nice inside and was a home from home. Wonderful place. Stayed 7 days here May 2004. Fabulous location, large good rooms, high ceilings, and unbelieveable tranquil views. Wonderful owners - the internet praise is genuine! Great restaurants nearby. In Ia generally, older visitors should ask how many steps down their room (!) and book accordingly.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Chelidonia during the last week of May. The rooms were clean and well kept. The views were excellent. I found the Chelidonia to be excellent value for the money. Above all else, the proprietors (Tryandopholos and Erika) are wonderful hosts who were very friendly, helpful and made you feel right at home. It's hard too put into words how perfect our stay in Oia was. Chelidonia Villas is part of the reason it was so wonderful. We had a private veranda with an incredible view and the owners, Rose & Erika, were very friendly and extremely helpful with recommendations on where to eat, etc. (completely opposite from the description given by the Brooklyn reviewer) Oia, Santorini is a place one should visit at least once in their lifetime, and Chelidonia Villas is where they should stay when they do.
