Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort

We stayed at the hotel for days at the beginning of October. We had a deluxe room on the fourth floor. The room was spacious and comfortable and had a great view of the pool and the sea. The only criticism about the room would be the standard of housekeeping, some days they only made the bed, the tea and coffee were not always replaced and they would only hoover the floor in the bathroom when it needed to be mopped due to the water splashes. Stayed two nights at this hotel in the soft opening on the 19oct, The rooms are perfect with nice view over the ocean. The water park was not quite ready on our stay some attractions where not open. Nice pool surroundings, the lobby is one of the nicest i have ever seen with a huge elephant wood carving. I was here with my girlfriend for some relaxation i do not think that this is the ultimate romantic getaway with a lot of children going bananas around the pool surrounding, but if you have children do not hesitate to go here and play in the... more

I just came back from my 3 weeks roundtrip in Thailand and a friend I met there suggested to visit a new hotel in Pattaya, and wow what a hotel for Thailand. It reminds me of the hotels in Vegas and Sun City Africa I have visited before but here in Thailand? Who would have thought about to find such a place here? I came this hotel at the end of Sept 2009 with my wife, we liked this place from the first glance, we were amazed with the view of the hotel from Balcony which looks at the see, we also liked our room but unfortunately there were not hot water in our shower. All the staff is very friendly, the breakfast is perfect. The pool is very wonderful and can't be compared with those I saw earlier in Thailand. me and my wife stayed at this hotel, we arrived on the the 6th of september to find construction work going on around the pool the lazy river and so called water slides was closed only two out of the 5 resturants where open( we was told they where at there soft furnishing stage with no work going on) work continued every day until we left on the 19th, that day was there press and media weekend and what a suprise to find no work going on around the pool, the lazy river and water slides where working. Hotel is fantastic staff and super, However I have read all the reviews noted on the site before we went and I was surprised to find construction ongoing, The hotel pools and buildings are still under construction, many of the restaurants are still not operational, Also the "RIVER" which is a main feature (and it is great) was seldom operating. Living in hectic Bangkok it was a real pleasure to spend a weekend at this new resort.The hotel is beautifully designed....the lobby is stunning with views over the bay. The pool/slide area is extensive but cleverly designed to blend in well with the tropical gardens .The highlight for my children was jumping/diving off the Acapulco style rock into the diving pool and then relaxing with fresh juices/food at the shaded poolside bar,making for a relaxing weekend for all. This resort is going to be an absolutely winner when fully compeleted. Get there now before the crowds. Our room was incredible - family residence.2 bedrooms and a lounge area with a wrap around balcony. Bigger than a one bedroom apartment back home. I was four nights in centara (17-21 Aug.) with my friend, I stayed at 7th floor in twin bed room, room space is good designed, bed and matress are excellent, a/c is working good and there is a good balcony with ocean view, There is a lavatory in left hand of room intrance, but there is not a tap for washing hands in this area, so you have to use the tap in kitchen area (the tap in our room was dropping and didn't work correctly, sometimes so cold and sometimes hot), there was not a bath tube in our room but a good shower,<br... more
