Aneto Hotel

Barcelona is an interesting place to visit, with much history, but also very touristy. Prices are hyped up due to this, but with enough searching good deals can be found. Hotel Aneto is in a good location just off of Las Ramblas and within walking distance of pretty much everything.

This hotel is in an excellent location - a side street off The Rambles. The stairways look a bit dingy but get past this and the corridors are clean and bright. As said before the room is small but perfectly fine for our 3 day stay. Beds made and clean towels each day. Our room had no view but this really didn't matter. The shower worked well and we used the air conditioning a few times with no problem. Staff were friendly and helpful. Although the walls are thin we did not find this a problem. i have just returned from a 4 night stay at the hotel aneto...i must say for a 1 star hotel it was exceptionally good standard..the only problem i would have is that the hotel is very noisy could hear every1 clearly going in and out of their rooms as doors were like paper..rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels and bedlinen...down fall was there was no hairdryers in the rooms this was annoying they had just 1 at the reception..also there wasnt iron in any part of the hotel...the location of the hotel couldnt have been any more central... more

I have just returned from a long weekend at the Hotel Aneto, we were aprehensive about staying in a 1* hotel but although we found this hotel to be very basic , it was very clean, had helpful staff and is in a fantastic location. Our room was fairly small, the bathroom had a good power shower and the maid changed our towels every day. Breakfast is a bit strange, a free coffee vending machine that works between 7-11am and a tray of cakes! There is one computer for guests to use the internet (1 euro for 30mins). Right aside of "La Boqueria" market, the place is strategic to metro station Liceu and at few minutes walk from Las Ramblas and Ciutat Vella and Ribera. Hotel is more quiet than expected (apart from annoying automatic coffee machines on floor), clean but our room was the smaller I've ever seen (there was bathroom inside) and with a minimal window opened on a dark court.

Stayed here with a friend in Sept 2007. Had a top floor room which is fine as they have worlds tiniest lift but means you don't have to carry the bags up the stairs. Room was a decent size and looked out onto the street overlooking the park. Bathrooms are smallish - had a bath but it was about halfsized. Staff were friendly. Can be a little noisy on Friday/Saturday nights due to the local bars which are open until 5 but with the airconditioner on it was fine. Stayed with a friend mid June this summer 2007. I found the hotel a great value for money. The rooms are very small and the breakfast consisted of cakes in the hallway. However, the room was air-conditioned and the hotel staff was very helpful. This hotel is in great and safe location. Totally recommended if you are looking for a clean central safe place to stay in and luxury in not on you agenda.

Myself and my boyf stayed in the Hotel Aneto for 3 nights from 5th-8th March 07...and we must say we found it excellent. i chose the hotel as it was very cheap (€70per night for a double room), and its closeness to Placa Catalunya. We arrived to the Hotel around 10.30 in the morning and even though check in wasnt until 2.00pm, they let us leave our luggage in our room and given time to get changed/ refreshed and told our room would be ready for us & to come back in an hour. This hotel is a fantastic deal - it is in a great location about 100 metres from the Ramblas. We paid 56 pounds a night and received a huge room with 4 single beds (we had asked for a double but we just pushed 2 of the beds together). Everything was absolutely spotless including the bathroom and the room was cleaned daily. Although breakfast was included we didn't try it as we wanted to sample some restaurants in Barcelona. Me and 7 friends stayed here for 2 nights in May 05 and despite initial worries that it would be a bit "dodgy" we were really impressed with our rooms considering how little we paid for them and the fact that it only has a 2 star rating. The hotel is on the Carre del Carmen just off Las Ramblas so is central to everything (especially some good bars - which was important to a group of girls celebrating a 30th birthday!). I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families or couple but hen or stag parties can't go wrong staying here.
