Three girlfriends and I have recently visited the Sol Cala Blanca for four nights and had a wonderful time.
The hotel staff, right across the board, were courteous, helpful, and polite. Our rooms were extremely spacious and comfortable.
We particularly enjoyed having 'proper' comfortable sunbeds on our balcony, as opposed to the usual white plastic chairs and table.
Wonderful views across the bay and literally right on to the beach and close to all bars, shops, restaurants etc.
A wonderful holiday and, we shall be returning next year at roundabout the same time. We all can't wait.

Lovely food, something different to try every day. You can even eat your breakfast / dinner outside looking over the beach (weather permitting)
Nice area. Just far enough out the way of the more lively resort of Magalluf but close enough if you fancy it. Lots of different bars and restaurants to choose from.
Friendly hotel staff always willing to help and 30 seconds from the beach.

Just returned, and really enjoyed the hotel. Staff lovely, especially when trying out my Spanish.
Lovely dining area, being able to sit outside, with view of sea. Lovely room on back of hotel (which I requested, as gets afternoon sun), with great loungers on roomy balcony.
Only problem with room, no draws, but otherwise perfect. Only one toaster in restaurant, so queues sometimes.
Not many beds by pool, and all reserved with towels by 9 o'clock, by the British! Also beach loungers get full. But enjoyed my stay.

Our stay at the sol Cala Blanca was for 4 nights and was excellent.
The food was excellent of an evening, plenty of variation each night and always hot. Breakfasts were also excellent with a large choice of continental and cooked foods. One thing that made us laugh was seeing broccoli for breakfast!
The staff were always friendly and could understand English well enough and were helpful. The room was of a good standard, and was cleaned daily. The location right by the beach was great.
The only one problem we found was that nearly all the hotel (including bedrooms) was smoking- and lots of it.
The reception and bar area were very smokey but fortunately the dining area was non smoking and kept free from smoke from other areas of the hotel.
Even though at time of booking we had the choice of smoking or non smoking (we booked non smoking), we were then told at the hotel that all rooms were smoking.
The room we were given was very smokey so we asked to move to another room which was not smokey so was much fresher.
All in all though it’s a great hotel, they just need to maybe re-address the smoking situation in there I think, as with so many smoking bans in places now, it’s quite off putting if you just want to sit and have a drink after your meal in the lounge area and you can hardly breathe due to the amount of smoke.
I am not quite sure why other reviews have said that it is in need of a major refurb, the decor in our room was nice and clean and not faded at all.
They just need all the carpet replaced on the reception/stairs/entrance area as it is quite dirty, corridors on all the floors however are fine and to us it looked like it had recently been painted to be honest.

01/04/2007 - 06/04/2007. Myself and my daughter, aged 14, have just returned from 5 nights at the Sol Cala Blanca.
The hotel was perfect even though the weather wasn't. The twin room on the third floor was a decent size, as was the bathroom which was equipped with shower-gel & soap etc.
We arrived late evening and were pleased to find that the staff had kindly put a tray of food in our room.
The location couldn't be better. It is positioned directly on the beautifully clean beach in the centre of Palma nova with Magaluf just a short walk away.
Because it was early season a lot of the bars & clubs were closed and it was fairly quiet.
There were not many children & teenagers around considering it was the first week of the Easter holidays and we noticed that most people were middle aged.
This was not only true of the resort but also of the hotel. There were only a handful of teenagers staying at the Sol Cala Blanca whilst we were there and my only complaint was that there was nothing for them to do.
The evening entertainment was not geared towards youngsters and there wasn't even a pool table for them to hang around.
However we had a brilliant time and made friends with some lovely people who we went out with in the evenings.
The staff at the hotel were very polite & friendly and we will definitely visit this hotel again and also recommend it to our friends.

Myself and partner had such an amazing time there.
When we got there our room was on the top floor and I have a fear of lifts (very silly I know) but without hesitation to save me walking up and down flights of stairs, the management moved us to an even bigger double room on 1st floor.
I was so pleased with this, and in the description they say its a stones throw to the beach, well it really is. I didn't hold my breath before I went but wow, such a beautiful beach, all most Caribbean.
I didn't rate the entertainment for myself and partner being in our early 20`s,personal preference, but there is so much on your door step to do for entertainment, bars clubs in Magaluf etc.
You have so much choice for food, with a buffet style both morning and night.
The whole hotel has air conditioning which was such a bonus, if I felt I couldn't handle any more of the heat I would just walk into the door of the hotel it was like walking into a fridge, something you need with the heat there.
There is also 4 or 5 computers in the reception area with internet access, I think it was 3 euros for 30 mins.
A very beautiful hotel and were planning to go back Feb. this year, cant wait.

Sep 2006, Mrs L Withers

Just arrived back from a short break from The Sol Cala Blanca, had a wonderful time, we have stayed in different hotels in Palma nova and this was the best!
The food was excellent I couldn’t fault it at all, the hotel rooms were large and very clean but most of all the staff couldn’t have been more friendly or polite nothing was too much trouble and all the hotel staff had a smile on there face.
On arrival we were even greeted by a member of the management team which I thought was a really nice touch.
Palma Nova is a lovely resort and The Sol Cala Blanca has a prime position overlooking the beach anyone who is staying in this hotel will not be disappointed.
The hotel doesn’t really cater for children but some tour companies do allow bookings of children and you don’t really need a children’s club when the beach is on the doorstep.
Also there are so many things to do and see in Majorca there is no time to get bored.
I highly recommend a car, we always like to explore and there are so many nice places to stop off at.

We have just come back from a weeks break in the above hotel which we found very friendly. Clean and based on its 4 star rating lived some what up to its reputation
The hotel is in need of a revamp as the deco is a bit shabby but overall the hotel is very good the food is excellent with a wide variety of local and English foods to choose from.
The location of this is hotel is really what you pay for I believe, as it is right on the beach and situated in a quiet location
The hotel does not really cater for children which we were pleased about as this was a break children-free
It was my birthday during the stay and the hotel sent me a spray of flowers which was totally unexpected but a lovely touch. I can see why people return year after year.

Just returned from a fabulous week at Sol Cala Blanca Hotel in Palma Nova. without doubt one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, truly a 4star hotel.
After making my booking I read a really bad review on this hotel and was a little worried, however the hotel was better than we could have imagined and I think many others feel the same as some guests were there for 8 weeks and had been coming back to this hotel for years. The rooms are huge and beautifully furnished, we were overlooking the street and had a wonderful sunny balcony, the rooms were very clean, the food was delicious and varied and all of the staff were very polite and friendly.
We have stayed in 2 other hotels in Palma Nova and they were nowhere near the standard of Sol Cala Blanca, will go back to this hotel anytime and am looking forward to my next visit

Hideous experience. Room allocated was inferior to that advertised (and it would seem the rest of the hotel) - had to limbo sideways between bed and wall, rude reception staff, view of a large electricity pylon just two feet away from balcony, overlooked by nearby hotel, alongside main road. Most definitely not deserving of 4* rating!

It is the second time myself and my family have travel to the Sol Cala Blanca. What can I say it is excellent. The staff are brilliant and the hotel is very clean.
The hotel is not geared for kids in the way that other hotels but kids activities did go on. There are no Kidsclubs (thank god) but my children loved every minute of it.
A definite plus is the Towel Service you pay for a greencard and can have your pool towel changed and provide as many times as you wish.
The hotel is in an excellent position.
We will definitely be returning to this hotel.
It was the first year we travelled with Travel City as we have previously gone with Portland Direct (much more expensive) Travel City were excellent the flight was good and the transfers were very good.

Jun 2005, Mr C R Littlewood

It is my 2nd visit to this hotel. I travelled with my wife and in-laws.
We had a delay of 5hours because of a fault in the Spanair flight and a 1-hour delay on our return. We should have chosen BMI Baby who as did go to time.
The hotel was clean and staff very helpful. The bedrooms are large and sheets and towels changed often.
The breakfast is good and the dinner was varied and of a good quality.
The only down side with this hotel is that the evening entertainment is not always to a high standard.
The hotel is overlooking the beach and the area is flat for walking to the shops and bars.
