Some rooms better than others
My Wife and I stayed here in late March 2005. We cut our stay short because we couldn't handle the noise. The staff was very friendly and the room clean and well appointed. However, rooms near the pool (#101-105 as I recall)we're VERY noisy, and sometimes until as late as 1:00AM! After two nights of poor sleep, we couldn't take it anymore. Also, the AC unit was so close to the bed (20"?), that it basically blew cold air on your neck all night if left on (we couldn't handle it). There were some rooms that looked larger and... more
Best part of our vacation
My husband and I spent 3 nights in mid March, 2005 at the Almond Tree and it was the best part of our Florida Keys vacation. The Almond Tree is very close to Duval Street (and lots of activity!). Yet when we wanted to rest and relax around the pool (very clean), it was as if we were in another (quiet) world! The courtyard is beautifully maintained with palm trees and flowers. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A continental breakfast is served each morning in the courtyard. Wine, beer and... more
Loved the Almond Tree Inn
Stayed at the Almond Tree Inn for four nights in August a couple of years ago (yeah this review is late, but better late than never). The hotel was wonderful. The place is laid out in a traditional "L-shaped" motel style, but the rooms are all remodeled with great luxuries: satellite television, marble floors, glass brick showers, powerful a/c. Every afternoon they had a happy hour and provided refreshing beverages and snacks. One night, the hotel allowed us to have a small celebration in honor of my father's 60th birthday, which he still... more
Couldnt find nicer.
I will agree with 99 percent the A Tree really hits the target for CLEAN Comfortable and accomadations. Having stayed there many times in the last 3 years I have never been dissapointed. Thanks to grt. staff and relaxing oasis for tired and hot travlers. Thank you Almond Tree Inn.
very nice...but
Overall the Almond Tree Inn is a quality place to stay in Key West. The rooms are not huge or all that well-appointed, but the location is the best. It's right at the main intersection in town. My girlfriend and I drove in from Miami, so we had a rental car, but we didn't need it once. You can walk to a lot of the great restaurants on the island. Even better, there's a store renting bikes and scooters right across the street, so we saw all of key west that way. The complimentary breakfast each morning is a great way to start... more
Definitely would stay again!
Just returned from 2 night stay at the Almond Tree and our experience was wonderful from the moment we checked in. The inn was easy to find and we parked right out front in the lot for $5 per day. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful and seemed to genuinely enjoy their job. The courtyard and pool were very clean and beautiful. The room was spacious with several special amenities, like the fridge and microwave, walk-in shower, immense counter space, and his/her robes. The location was also perfect, just steps to... more
This is the place to stay in Key West!
This is the place to stay in Key West! Why? 1. It is in the middle of all the action 2. Has parking for only $5 day (most places do not have parking anywhere near or as cheap) 3. it is a garden oasis. It used to be a tacky drive up motel. The parking lot is now a pool, jacuzzi and lounging area. Each unit is completely on its own and completely redone 4. benefits of bed and breakfast without the intimacy which is often not enjoyable 5. Great owners and staff who give great advice on what to do 6. Breakfast and happy hour drinks and snacks... more
Okay but ....
My family stayed here for a weekend. After reading the reviews on this site, I thought that it would be a nice hotel. It was nice - but not worth the price. The bathrooms are very small! You can barely turn around in the shower. We were in a suite on the first floor. The noise from the room above us was unbearable. We had to keep the air conditioner running all night to drown out the people walking across the floor above us. Beware of the hot tub! It has so much chlorine in it. It ruined all of our bathing suits. We washed them... more
Super Place
Found the Almond Tree on Trip Advisor. The text and number-rating were very helpful. The inn was great for a number of reasons: location, parking, cleanliness, attractiveness, personnel, free breakfast and afternoon wine. They even moved us to a suite for the same price as the inn was not crowded, and we wanted quiet. Just around the corner is Duval Street so we could walk to restaurants and shopping. Excellent in every way!
Loved it!
The Almond Tree Inn is a beautiful, quaint, hotel in a prime location... walking distance to Duval St. The hotel provided a morning breakfast and evening happy hour. The rooms are beautifully decorated, clean, and very comfortable. I highly recommend the Almond Tree... you can't go wrong.
