Albergo Doni

THis Hotel DONI made our trip memorable ! My room was facing a pretty canal where I could enjoy the gondola's serenades. The price was great (the cheapest I found )and the Staff was very friendly and able to answer most of our questions (especially the guy called Nikos). The room was very clean and simple. I really recommend this nice family Hotel !

the location is very good,staff nice but it is overpriced,towels weren't changed often,and it was a bit rundown.

This joint was a dump even for a thrifty traveler. Bad service, along with noisy uncomfortable rooms make this the prime place to stay away from. If you are looking for a place to rest... this one is not gonna do it.

My wife and I have just returned from our second visit to Venice in less than two years. Both times we have stayed at Aubergo Doni - an authentically Venetian hotel that we consider to be one of those rare finds. We visited this splendid hotel in early September.This is a highly atractive property in a superb location, just two mins walk from St Marks Square and 10 walk from the Rialto bridge.The hotel is very clean and our room was spacious and nicely decorated .The staff was very attentive, knowledgeable and helpful.The breakfast that was included was above average.We found the Doni an excellent value for money and we would certainly recomend it to anyone looking for a charming and unexpensive accommodation in a perfect location.

this is hotel in need of major fumigation! No ameniteis... no service. The only thing going for it is its location but if you are into saving $$$... sleep on the big church's steps... they are much more comfortable.

My husband and I stayed here towards the end of our Honeymoon when we were just going from town to town exploring. The Albergo Doni room we stayed in was a very small room with a shared bathroom (all they had available - not their fault we didn't make reservations ahead of time) which was fine for what we wanted: a roof over our head at night and a bed to sleep in. We paid 85 euro a night, which seemed like a bargain - until we decided we wanted to stay one more night in Venice and our room was booked, so we inquired about another room... more

I stay at the Doni twice a year. It is a charming hotel, in a great location. The helpful staff all speak english and the price is right. I highly recommend this spot, for a real taste of Venice.

My 19 year old daughter and I spent three short nights at the Albergo Doni mid March 2005. Our experience here was great! The price we paid and the location were unbeatable! It is simple but clean. Breakfast is simple but does the job with LOTS of coffee ( which is in itself a rarity). The rooms are plain but we had a room on the canal side on the third floor and all you had to do was open the window and stick your head out to have the most awsome view in the world! For the price, we were very happy and comfortable. We had a double room with en suite. It was very basic but clean and quiet. The hotel is so close to San Marco Square, post offices, the major tourist attractions and more. We were thankful for the simple breakfast included in the price. Tessa and the staff were all friendly and helpful. We feel the hotel has character and added to our taste of Venice. We would definitely stay there again.
