AC La Linea

Whilst not a 5* hotel this is a great all rounder and fantastic value. Check in was very smooth. The hotel offers complimentary drinks in the lounge (standard) and the mini bar in the room is complimentary too (though not jam packed it is a nice touch). The room was clean and stylish, service is very good and efficient - we didn't try the restaurant as we wanted to go out, the receptionist recommended La Marina on the other beach - excellent seafood and only 75 euros for 2 incl wines and brandy! Try the fish on the wood barbecue!

Stayed at the AC La Linea in May 2006, we were intending to stay in Gibraltar until we saw the prices of the Hotels! This Hotel is about 30 mins walk from the Spain/Gibraltar border, there is a small beach about 5 mins away. We had non-sea views which consisted of some flats opposite and the Hotel Pool (which is only open in July and August) Rooms, specially the bathrooms were very modern with good quality power shower and bath, glass sink and laminate flooring. You can't beat the location, but it could be beat in in other departments. We stayed here for a couple of nights, and found the hotel to be clean, and the service okay. However, the breakfast was a whopping 15 Euros each, for a few pastries and toast. But, they have a captive audience. There are really no resteraunts or coffee shops within walking distance. AC La Linea is excellent for its location to Gibraltar and as a business hotel for La Linea or Algeciras (In room desk space, wireless internet through 24hr cards purchased at the front desk, minibar, etc.). The hotel has a modern feel and the staff are freindly and the price is very reasonable. Only let down by the restaurant, but who cares as most of us eat out anyway. This hotel has a great, helpful staff, a good restaurant, with good food and ambience and clean, comfortable rooms. The rooms had all amenities and looked nice, with the closet doors being illuminated glass. The neighborhood was quiet and from my balcony I had a view of Gilbralter. It is a 15 minute walk there along the beautiful corniche. The neighborhood seemed a little touchy, so I did not go out at night. This hotel is in a great location for Gibraltar. Its a pleasant 1-2 mile walk by the sea into Gibraltor and the hotel isnt far from the bus station. Rooms at the hotel are clean, tidy and modern but in my opinion the pool lets it down. Its been located between the hotel and some flats. Dont expect any privacy or sun! The beach is much nicer.

This hotel was so great, we cancelled our trip to Granada to stay an extra night here. A word of advice, if you're going to Gibraltar, STAY HERE. It's about a 10 minute walk from the La Linea bus station (4 hrs from Seville), and about a 20-25 minute walk to the Gibraltar border, walking along the beach's boardwalk. A cab to Gib costs you 3.5 Euros, so if you're tired, a cab is well worth it. We luckily found the AC Hotel in La Linea near Gibralter. The desk person was so helpful - showing us rooms, helping us get further reservations, giving us ideas. The room was very comfortable with very nice amenities and a wonderful veiw. We would recommend this as a great place to stay when visiting Gibralter and we will look for other AC hotels

We have stayed at this hotel twice, in October 2003 and May 2005. It is a 5 minute walk from the beach, 10 minutes from the centre of La Linea, and about 20 minutes from the border with Gibraltar. The hotel is very clean, the accommodation is of a high standard, and everything is in good repair. We stayed at AC La Linea while visiting Gibraltar to get married. This hotel offers the perfect alternative to the exhorbitant prices of accomodation just over the border in the wierd and over priced Gibraltar. The service was spot on, the rooms are very classy and clean, the only downfall was in using the phone and paying inflated rates for the service.
